It was expensive, but I paid for the convenience and ease of booking. Their rep came out. He was courteous and although a little jittery, knew what he was doing (hence the 2 stars/the job *did* get done). However I ended up paying $90 extra for - I'm not sure what? ..He said he didn't have a long enough cord to connect behind the wall, but my outlets aren't that far away? They're literally on the same wall - how long is the cord they bring? 3 feet? And then they charge extra for the service that I already chose/paid for. A plate is like $2. Another vent - I was home alone and there was no way this one guy could lift a TV and mount/dismount it. I had to use all of my *one* muscle and hold it while he worked on the wall. I literally broke a sweat. I mean... what if I had been clumsy and dropped it? What if I was pregnant and couldn't risk it? Shouldn't they send 2 guys out? Otherwise why not pay ME a portion of that job? I tried to email and get the $90 portion refunded, but nope. That's bad customer service. So: I do NOT recommend paying $450+ to get a TV mounted from Hello Tech.

Project: wall hang two (2) large screen TV's with hardware provided. Hello Tech representative: Devon Events: * 10:00 am Devon arrived on time. * Devon word only a mask; no booties on his shoes. The result? Mud and dirt tracked into our home. * Devon wore no gloves to protect the screens on the tv's. The result: finger prints on the screens. * Devon's tools: a home set of drill bits and driver ... all available for about $60 from Home Depot. * Devon had no vacuum cleaner. * Devon did not deploy any sheet or covering to keep wood and sheet rock dust from the floor. The result? From drilling, wood dust and sheet rock dust was dumped on our floor. * After Devon left, I had to vacuum the mess he left. * Devon was unable to drill holes in sufficient depth to accommodate the screws to mount the tv wall bracket. * Devon asked me to purchase 4 mounting screws in shorter lengths. * For the second TV, Devon was unable to drill holes in sufficient length to accommodate the 4 mounting screws for the wall bracket. * Lacking the needed tools, Devon asked me to purchase a bit extender. * Devon was unable to complete the project because he was not prepared with the proper tools. * We discussed the options and mutually agreed that Devon would return at 10:00 am the next day and I would purchase the tools Devon needed. * At 10:00 am the next day, Devon was a no show. Devon never called. * At 10:30 I called HelloTech and learned that Devon had cancelled the project and I would have to reschedule the project. * I rescheduled the project for 4:00 pm and was told that Matt would be the HelloTech service person. * At approximately 12:00 pm I received a text message asking for photos of the project. * At approximately 12:10 I received a text message offering me several alternative dates and times for the service. * I asked why I was told Matt would arrive at 4:00 pm yet I was now being told Matt would not perform the service and I would have to reschedule the service. * I replied that I would not reschedule the service. In Summary: Devon was totally unprepared for the task. He lacked the tools, courtesy needed to provide the service (vacuum, booties, etc.), he asked me, the customer, to purchase the needed tools and, he cancelled the project without consulting, notifying me or receiving my approval. HelloTech scheduled Matt to perform the service but within 10 minutes told me I would have to reschedule the service ... no explanation as to why. If Devon is the face of HelloTech, HelloTech has a very, very serious problem.

The following month I was billed $15 for a HelloTech membership so I went online, logged in, and canceled the membership. I got a cancellation confirmation email. Then the next month I was billed another $15 for a HelloTech membership. I thought maybe I'd done something wrong online so I called and canceled my membership. They told me it hadn't been canceled but that they would cancel it and assured me now it was canceled. The following month I was billed and called again with them saying sorry we will cancel and that went on for another month before I called and asked for a refund. They apologized and told me they would cancel it and refund me all the times I'd been billed. I was not refunded and the following month I was charged another $15 for the HelloTech membership! One of the frustrating things about getting into something beyond Home Theater in a Box is the barrier to entry. Burt at Seattle Hi-Fi can help you demystify any questions you might have whether you are a novice or interested in bi-amping into a stereo amp bridge to a mono-block. Burt can hang with just about anyone and has the same positive attitude no matter the conversation. One of the key differentiators with Seattle Hi-Fi vs every other company I have done business with is how welcoming they are to your needs AND budget! Any AV shop will cater to your needs if your budget is right. All AV shops can make you feel welcomed if you are spending a huge amount of money. Burt has helped me when I was spending a single digit % of his suggested budget on an item the exact same as when I was spending more than what he suggested! I have felt like an extremely valued customer through every interaction with Burt, regardless of what I needed or what I was spending. Burt has spent time helping me debug problems AFTER the purchase was complete on a new use case I had and just generally is fantastic. Seattle Hi-Fi is my favorite store in the greater Seattle area, and my favorite AV store I have ever been to! Cannot recommend Seattle Hi-Fi enough.

The storeroom is a nice place to shop, conveniently located in Proctor with ample free street parking in the area. We got a consultation in our home so that we could see the products in our space. The quote was given right away. The salesmen was very helpful and told us that the Hunter Douglas line is a lifetime type of purchase and therefore pricier than other options. Ultimately we chose a less expensive option but I think this store is worth a look, especially if you want something less common or have a more complicated situation.

They had a few issues with the process, but what blew me away was that every time I found a problem the owner immediately wrote me a check to cover the damage with no hesitation. Overall though it is a good product, it did a great job of sealing around all of the top and bottom plates, and I'm sure a bunch of other places I can't see. The aerobarrier got me down to 1.2 ach50, which surpassed my target. Their main guy was out of town, so they sent a less experienced tech. They ended up not taping off all of the plumbing penetrations, so we ended up getting sealant stuck in the dryer vent, b-vent, and a few other places. They either sent someone immediately to clean it up, or paid to replace the item when cleaning wasn't possible. They gave me an extra refund for the trouble. I wished I had the more experienced tech for the blower door, as this guy missed several things that would have improved the score. There was a window which was ajar, some plumbing penetrations which weren't taped off, and the HVAC duct work to the original house (which was square footage excluded from the test) needed to be taped off but wasn't. He also didn't know how to do a duct leakage test to the exterior (running duct leakage during blower door essentially). But I can't complain too much, as I still received a score which exceeded my expectations.
