In a city with no large grocery store chain, it was nice to have Krull's Market to shop at. We stopped by twice during our 3 day stay in Hill City, South Dakota. The market is not huge, but they are well stocked with a diverse selection of merchandise. I bought something here which I had never seen in California. Peach Kuchen!!! The State dessert of South Dakota!! It is yummyrific!! Krull's Market is a cool small town grocery store!! Shop here when you are in town. read more

Krulls is the best little grocery store I've been in!! It is super clean, organized and full of little gems that you wouldn't expect to find. We moved here from Colorado and I can honestly say that it's rare I can't find something at Krulls that I had shopped for in a much larger store. You guys are awesome, thank you!! read more

We shopped here a few times while we were staying in Keystone. The staff was so nice to us. They noticed we weren't local by picking up on our southern accent. They asked us where we were from and made a point to say "Hi Knoxville guys" every time we went there. They were more than helpful to give suggestions about what to do out there and best ways to get there. This store has anything you could possibly be looking for and more. read more

They should not allow employees work in store if they have colds or any other ailment. Especially the checkers. While the wife and I were in the process of checking our groceries, an another checker who had been coughing and sniffling, insisted on making a money transaction with our checker. She then leaned over our merchandise to make this transaction. After exchanging cash neither checker sanitized their hands and our checker continued to check our merchandise. If this happens again in the middle of this pandemic we will leave our groceries on the counter and leave. There is a sign on the door that states if you are sick do not enter but this does not seem apply to their employees. read more

Krull's Market in Hill City is a basic small town small grocery store with some very occasional niceties. They seem to have a sense of flavor and quality that can be missing in a lot of Middle of Nowhere places since they try harder in baked goods- not just basic bread and sweet, bland "pastries"*, tough, environmentally harmful corn-fed meat** & just rock hard oranges, "delicious" & iceberg bland produce***. There's basic tent & simple RV camping stuff, lots of non-compostable, disposable, eating ware, a liquor store attached (astounding for this Colorado girl!) I think it's a SuperValu- the store "brand" is "Shurrfresh" (which I associate with very low quality but maybe it's better); I'd so much prefer Kroger. I'd hate for anyone to walk in, expecting a tucked away little gem of a grocery store since it's a small town and they get what they get. Sorry about the lousy photos- I'd left the store when I decided to post a review. We were there during Sturgis but I didn't see anything that suggested they upscale for it or run out of stuff and downscale as a result. Basically, it's what's in Hill City. 1 of 1 grocery stores. Used to shop here weekly but last time I was in, the deli staff was incredibly nasty when I asked if an item available. Add that to the fact that no staff was wearing masks and lack of general hygiene, and I decided it's just worth going elsewhere even though it's a longer drive. read more
