They also have a tennis court next door that was pretty busy. This park has so many different options for the kids to play whether it's slides, climbing rocks, playing with water or musical instruments and more. There's so much to do. The Barnett Family Park playground features a whimsical nature themed playground with climbing net and an interactive fountain and splash pad that spouts columns of water into the air at random intervals to encourage children to play. The park also has the Sunflower Preschool Playground designed for ages 2 to 5, a labyrinth, a covered picnic area, restrooms, and a multipurpose field. I really enjoyed all of the public art surrounding the play area. If you have children this is a must stop in downtown Lakeland. The location is situated on a beautiful lake that has several walkways for a lovely stroll. The park itself is centered around a humongous shade tree that has a ton of picnic table seating. Each playground is separated by age and is gated, which is a huge relief for parents with runners! There is an infants area, toddlers age 2-5 and big kids area. On the opposite side of the playground is the splash pad which is spread out nicely so parents can keep a good eye on their children as they run and cool down. This park has something for everyone and is a must go to!

Baybridge Park is located in the Westchase Suburban District of West Tampa off Linebaugh Avenue, Montague Street, and Bridgeton Drive. Baybridge Park has a Tot Lot playground for smaller kids 2 to 5 years old and a large playground for older kids 5 to 12 years old. The Tot playground is lower to the ground with 4 small slides and multiple obstacles that are friendly for smaller kids. The large playground has 6 different slides, several obstacles, several points of entry, and even has some teachable games including a traffic sign game, life stages of a butterfly, diagram of the planets, and alphabet letters. Baybridge Park also has swings, a nature trail, a bike path, bathrooms, water fountains, shaded picnic areas, and a large soccer field! Baybridge Park is one of the few parks that has outdoor exercise equipment which is great to keep parents busy while their kids play in the playground and they can still keep an eye on their kids! The Baybridge Park connects to the Westchase community on the other side of Linebaugh via a tunnel going under the street to allow families with little ones safe passage without having to worry about traffic! The Baybridge Park's Tot playground and swing area is covered to protect your little ones from the sun but their big playground is not fully covered. There is a shade at the top of the fort but that's about it. This playground and surrounding area is always very clean and nice. If you're in the Westchase Area of Tampa and have young kids, I definitely recommend checking this park out!

This neighborhood park is just one square block with street parking available on all four sides. The park has a small playground, a half-court basketball court and a picnic shelter with paved concrete paths that crisscross the park. The playground set is modern and appears in excellent condition with some climbing and slides for the kids, plus a couple of benches where the adults can sit and supervise. It currently is made up of three baseball fields (which I rarely see being used), a basketball court and a grassy area big enough for a touch football game. The Pride Elementary playground is easily accessible from the park as is a pavilion. Bring water with you, there are no water fountains anywhere to be found. But there is a bathroom. One lonely blue portable pushed up against field one. I can't vouch for the inside of it or the amount of toilet paper that is stocked because I've never used it. On certain mornings (Saturdays?) you can catch hot air balloons taking off from the park. With the sun rising in the background and hot air balloons growing in the foreground, it is quite a serene scene. There are usually cranes walking around the small park so that adds a little natural element. All things being equal, I much prefer Flatwoods or Branchton as there is more to do. Unfortunately those aren't walkable from my apartment.
