This meant that on hot summer days we could play without overheating quickly. Recently my visits have been to the softball fields and not to the park. Before Covid shit everything down, they appeared to be in the process of updating it. During the winter and early spring I participate in a softball league that plays at the fields located at the back of this complex. The fields are always well maintained and ready to go when we show up to play. Only once or twice in my four years playing has something happened that caused a delay. The manager of the fields was there and was able to quickly rectify it. The complex also features a skate park, a dog park, and soccer fields. They also have large mixed use fields located under the lights.

Wonderful boardwalk path, a great paved path, and we even hiked on the Cross Seminole trail. The river and dock were beautiful, but we didn't put our kayaks in since the current looked pretty strong. The camping looks really nice and the RV sites were large and had electric. Would like to come back and camp there. The park, paths, bathrooms, playgrounds were well maintained. My fiance and I walked just under 5 miles and the pavement wasnt overly packed with bikers. Everyone is pretty friendly and share the road. We entered from Bruce B Downs but we have used both entrances. The front entrance is more walker/runner friendly since you aren't immediately at the 7 mile loop.

There were plenty of swings for a group and one for handicap, large play area for many children to play on - now the park is a fourth of the size, trees were cut down but now there is a dozen or more little trees grow big in the center of a stump in the middle of this small park - there is one baby swing that is four feet off the ground and one swing that is three feet off the ground. No child can use the swing without an adult help to get on it or get down from it. No more slide, no more handicap swing. The section off plastic dividers are broken with sharp edges. The Picnic tables need some serious TLC. What a shame this park has been neglected In Istachatta there aren't many things we have - no more library- and now the park is pretty sad.
