If you receive a call from a marketing company offering one of these 2 value propositions to assist you to get out of your timeshare make sure and hang-up: 1. A way to convert to a "pay as you use your timeshare" versus paying the annual maintenance 2. A developer being on-site to make an offer to purchase your timeshare We showed up at the appointed time at the restaurant and the nice sales lady with KTO Travel we spoke with thought we were there to hear about a "Viking Cruise". That was the first sign things were about to go awry. The "manager" that came over to clear things up. I explained the pretense that got us to this dinner. After a very frustrating 30 minute ordeal he proceeded to tell me that I'd have to be a fool to believe that anyone would pay us a dime for a timeshare. He claimed that the marketing company they hired must've made a "mistake" and said that they have no control over the company but as long as we were there that we might as well hear them out. They proceeded to try and sell us a new program for $399 a year that would supposedly be better for us and eliminate our annual maintenance fees (no real explanation of how that would happen). The sales pitch for this new program was so convoluted that it made our current nightmarish booking experience with Hilton Grand Vacations sound better (hard to do). The other option available to us was to pay this racket $5,000 to get us out of our timeshare (along with a guarantee to refund our money that they needed on the spot if they weren't successful). He claimed that they're very successful of course. We could not get out of this meeting fast enough and I decided to make it my mission to try and save others from the experience. I cannot speak to KTO Travel Solutions, as a travel agent, but if they contact you,and promise to help you get out of your Timeshare, RUN. this is a pitch they used to get it to listen to a presentation about something that has nothing to do with helping you get out of your Timeshare. The presentations are confusing and misleading. Especially because they got you there under the premise that they are going to help you exit your timeshare. No matter how many times we told them that we did not vacation in the in a way that would make use of a timeshare or any vacation oportunity like that, and when we purchased our timeshare, it was local to a Membership campground where we spend our summers, with the exception of one trade when we first owned it 20yrs ago, we have only used it for the pool and facilities. But the way it was presented we still thought that our $6800 was for the most part to facilitate our exiting our Timeshare, and the 1st year of Dreamstar was like a complimentary trial for 10,000 points, with a 250,000 available. Even when I said we won't use it, and haven't..he still insisted we should give it a try as it will be there either way. read more

My wife and I met a lovely lady named Yvette and her supervisor at a Perkins here in Wisconsin. Although there was a little confusion from marketing on how they got us there originally Brian and Yvette went out of their way to help us. The whole staff from who we met originally to all the people we've called since (we had a lot of questions) has been a positive experience and we have since referred several friends and family who would say the same. read more

I attended a meeting at Olive Garden in Peoria. The dinner was good, but the meeting was long and boring. Stefanie helped me sign up for a membership that has vacation benefits that fits my family's wants. I no longer have to pay a maintenance fee that I thought I would never be relieved of. I was grateful I did not deny the call to get me scheduled for the meeting. As I am sure everyone can relate to the amount of calls they get for this kind of thing. I am a Wyndham Timeshare owner. I received a call from a man in early December offering me an opportunity to meet with an agent from Wyndham. The purpose was to tell me about a new system being offered for paying maintenance fees, which would likely save me money. I agreed to attend the meeting. It was set up at a Red Robin restaurant for Dec. 18. When my husband and I sat down at this meeting with a female representative, it was clear that she was not from Wyndham as she was asking me about my Wyndham ownership. When questioned about why a Wyndham person would not know about my ownership, she said that they worked with RCI (a timeshare exchange company). She did say after that, that it actually was a company called KTO. Her convoluted sales pitch was that I would give them my Wyndham owner deeds, and then, somehow, I would, for small amounts of money, have wide access to all of RCI's resorts and could do unlimited traveling. Being very skeptical from the outset, I asked whether they would purchase my ownerships. She replied no, that there would be no money coming to me. I clearly said that I felt that I had been invited to this meeting under false pretenses and wanted nothing to do with this plan or her company. After a bit more talking about the program, she gave up and called over her supervisor (?), a man named David. He came to our table to "confirm" things and to go through the reasons why I should get into this plan once again. David said that the company, for legal reasons, required this and then he would need my signature. I clearly stated again that this was not anything I was interested in. David then proceeded into his spiel and when he observed that I was not giving him my full attention, he became insulting. He told me that he was aware that I was not listening to him and that I should be ashamed of myself as he was there trying to do a public service. When I asked for his name, he looked at me, laughed, and said, "I own this company. You can't get me in trouble!" My husband told David then that we were leaving and that he would sign the paper first. David stood up, and with an angry face he scoffed and said, "I don't want your signature!" He walked away muttering about how I was too stupid to see that he could have saved me and my family $10,000, On the way out of the restaurant, we passed by David and the lady who had been our sales person. To confirm that I had the correct name of the company, I told David that I would be leaving a review online and that I needed that full name of the company. Without looking at me, he said that I could search RCI. When I said that this was not an acceptable answer, the sales lady then told me that the name of the company was KTO. This business relies on a pitch to get you to a meeting at a restaurant that says we get you our of your time share. They then give a very confusing presentation that involves KTO Travel, Next Level Exits(a company that handles the exits from the timeshares) at a supposedly reduced cost for KTO Travel. But they require you a purchase of a membership in DreamStar (a Conceierge for RCI) and points to RCI. My wife and I are in our 70s on limited income and lost our spouses. Between us we had three resorts. One in Canada and two in US on limited incomes difficult financing all three maintainence fees. I believe they count on confusing you. All told we spent 4,500 to the exit company and 9,000 for the Memberships to Dreamstar and RCI. They NLE refunded $1500 for the Canadian Property. They said because it had sold recently. We began getting letters fro the other two properties as if we had contacted them, Then NLE asked us to write them letters but not mention their name. None of them knew NLE was involved to my knowledge. The $9,000 to KTO travel evidently got 10,000 yearly RCI points and the right to buy 500,000, which we were led to believe came with the package each year, each year. When I called RCI they said they didn't have any knowledge of KTO. So now we have $3300 on my Credit card and $10,200 on my wife's of which they refunded $1500, which they talked her into taking out because they said they couldn't put it all on mine. When I talked with KTO's owner? she said read the contract it says 30 days to recind which is true but that's about when they actually started communicating as if they were doing something she would not say if Next Level Exits was the same company but hung up on me. But the person I had been talking with at Next Level Exits sent me an email that said if there was any more contact from me it would have to come from my Lawyer and she referenced both companies. The original pitch by the person that talked me into going in the first place was that they weren't selling anything just showing that there had been changes and exit programs were possible. read more
