We recently switched our daughter from Pacific Flips because we felt like we weren't a priority since we were not interested in competing! After attending for a year and nobody ever introducing themselves to us or even giving us updates on our daughter's progress we decided we'd give KTs a try before giving up... I'm so happy we made the switch as our experience here has been the complete opposite of Pacific Flips! Immediately upon signing up I felt like the entire staff has made effort to build a relationship with our daughter as with us as well! It's nice being greeted by name and getting updates after each class. The coaches all are passionate about what they do and you can tell by the way the interact with the kids. I love seeing my daughter challenged to learn new skills in a supportive and nurturing environment! My poor girl had been trying to learn how to do a cartwheel for the whole year at PF without any success, however after a week of being at KTs she was able to do it! The only thing different they did was get out this little mat that shows where to place her feet and hands and gave her praise and encouragement and boom she was doing cartwheels! The smile on her face was priceless! We've also had to switch days due to our schedule changing for the fall and they've been extremely flexible and accommodating! Been getting more and more upset with this place. When you first sign up you have to pay 35$ for shorts. We been going for a over a year and still haven't received any shorts. The teachers usually don't help the kids in the open area. I been watching for the past 5 classes and they don't assist kids that can't do bridges during warmups, and don't correct the stretches. Some teachers are better than others. The tall blonde teacher has always been kind, sweet and patient with the kids. There is a red headed teacher who is patient, and a male teacher with a beard who seems to know what he is doing. The other teachers have been seemingly ignore kids who are scared and shy, ignoring kids who are not exhibiting the proper technique [injury risk], and texting on their phone. This is all happening in the open viewing area. I have been recording times of class start time and end time. Typically they start on time at 4:00pm, but consist about 20 minutes of warm ups, and then the class and kids will be sitting ready to leave approximately 4:40pm. [The recorded times and assessment comes from the previous 5x classes] I want to like this place more, but some teachers are lazy and infuriating to watch. My daughter is in gymnastics there & has some experience in gymnastics from a previous place. Before we signed her up, she got to do a "free trial" so we thought. Then when we decided to sign her up, they charged us $15 for the trial and On top of that $15 for shorts that took 2 months to get. Along with a contract saying we had to stay in for three months. Here at KT's, She barely gets to do anything just handstand competitions against other girls, & stretches. Pretty much they are just horsing around. Parents can't really watch their kids perform instead your in the mall hallway looking through a window If not, a narrow doorway. Your not inside the gym at all. Been taking my daughter here for years... call ahead their a HUGE waitlist due to This being the only gym in town for gymnastic and cheer lessons. We enjoy her classes just wish their was more options for dance or more classes focusing on tumbling. We've made it to the highest class but it's integrated with other levels so they do the same tasks weekly. read more

They have a young lady named Nicole who works there that's not very nice with the younger children (4-5 year olds) we spoke to the gym manager showed cell phone videos and pictures giving her proof but after all was said and done she continued to work there. I can't have my child in a place where she is not going to be treated nicely. Besides we were doing this for fun and it was no longer fun for my child so, my friends and I took our kids out. read more

The environment is decent for the kids. I understand it's hard to deal with multiple kids and keep them engaged. It's a little busy and with long wait list it should be easier to be released from a contract. Be prepared for them to take a week off a few times during your contract. Seriously think about enrolling before you sign. read more

My son had a Lazer tag party there and it was amazing. They set up and clean up, was able to have 12 kids and kept them entertained. The staff was so helpful and nice, they even join a round of tag with the kids! Everyone enjoyed their time and it was well worth the price! Definitely doing it again! read more

My son and daughter attend currently and both enjoy class very much. Their instructors are great and give feedback when asked. They are very kind. We had previously attended when my now 11 year old daughter was 3/4 years prior to their move into the mall. This is the only down side. We had to stop for years as getting to and from lessons was very difficult with my daughter having 2 younger siblings. Sometimes it is still difficult with a busy schedule. Trying to find parking and get to class on time after work. Payment is easy as we do a 6 month contract and pay all at once, and get a discount for it! This place tought nothing to my daughter who has been doing gymnastics for 3 years. I brought her here since there are not many places around. Very disappointed, Coaches never tell you how your kid is doing, or anything at all. The location is terrible, you can barely see what your child is doing. We came from an amazing gymnastics, with amazing Coaches and friendly staff. This place I would not recommend. Sadly my child who has always loved gymnastics and has always been great at it does not even want to go back to this place. It was a waste of time and money. read more

We passed through on vacation with my kids who were just getting into gymnastics for some open gym time. Even though we were just passing through the owner took time to work with my kids and give individual feedback. It was clear to me that they truly love the sport and want what is best for my kids. I would give zero stars if I could. My daughter was one of the best in her class. She was never invited to test which was ridiculous as others who could barely do rolls were. I feel like I wasted a lot of money on a expensive tumbling class. Another issue I had was my daughter was doing some back bends the instructor had asked them to do unsupervised and hurt her neck really bad. No one even saw her and when she told her instructor the girl shrugged it off like it was no big deal. Well it was. She was in pain over a week and missed the next weeks practice. So sad. Tonight is her last class after a grueling six month contract is over. Also another thing is my 15 year old daughter checked my daughter out numerous times when they state they wouldn't let that happen. Funny how much does really happen. Anyone can come in and check your kid out, even a stranger. Don't waste your time or money here. Find a smaller place where they will spend better time with your kid and actually want to see them advance. Don't send them to this money pit. read more

This is a large facility gym . Indoor tumble track , multiple spring floors , multiple bars , multiple beams , and lots of space for learning. Coaches are friendly and knowledgeable . The coach to gymnast ratio is great ! They have the best prices around the area for gymnastics . It saddens me to not be able to give a raving review, but after almost 3 years of my daughter going to gymnastics here, I finally made the choice to walk away. My daughter enjoyed the classes, and most of the instructors were kind. However, my daughter was never allowed to test after being there almost 3 years, even though she knew her material. I had instructors tell me that she for sure should be tested, and yet, she never was given an invitation to test. When I would ask about it, I was told "next time" or "well, she should have been invited. She must have been overlooked." They do levels by color of shorts, and my daughter was never even given the first blue shorts. It was either really disorganized, or there is definite preference/denial to certain students. When I mentioned to more than one instructor the reason I would be leaving, there seemed no concern for the fact. I did not receive an apology or a reason why. Interestingly, I had been told by other parents that had been customers here that they focused on only certain students, and these specific parents who live here in SM, actually were now driving all the way to SLO to have their children take gymnastics. So sad. I ran into a couple other issues as well. My daughter had wanted to take the cheer class, and I was told she could try it out before signing up for it by one of the instructors. So she did so, and loved it. After that trial class, one of the instructors came up to me and told me the class was full. If this was the case, then why did you allow my daughter to try it out, get excited about it, so that I can now disappoint her and tell her that she really can't take the class? A few weeks later, an instructor told me that they were expanding the cheer class, and asked if we were still interested in it. Yes! So they were going to be contacting us so we could join the cheer class. Well, we never heard from them. I honestly think there are some serious communication issues. But sadly, all of these things can be quite hurtful to a little girl that is only 5 years old. The children are the ones that get hurt by their lack of communication, or whatever the issues are there. read more
