My parents are buying a fireplace and after looking around and pricing out, Total Gas came out to be the cheapest by a fair bit. My folks went in with two big requests, and were assured it would not be a problem. Unfortunately, when they came to install the fireplace.. it was not fulfilling one of the requests (that it be snug up against the wall).. so they did raise issue and to Total Gas's credit, it was fixed in about what amounted to a week's time. The retail store is warm (go figure) and really kind of neat.. with all kinds of various options for fireplaces on display. Although I couldn't imagine working their in the summer.. Anyways, all in all a good place to get your custom fireplace installed with good customer service.

I didn't drool and pant over the steering wheel about how hot some of the clients were. I never carved initials into anyone's chimney peak so it will erode all winter long. I never once did anything I wasn't told to do, you set me up and fired me (crippled with brain damage) 1 week before Christmas and had the nerve to wish me a merry Christmas as we parted. Nothing good about you fella, I see through your veil and the clients all should too.

Looking from the ground, and not going up on the roof, he assured me the cap was fine. However after I paid and they left I realized that there was still a pile of soot in the fireplace. When contacted Tim merely said he was trying to save me an extra $75 since my chimney was dirtier than most and his vacuum bag was full. Well, for $250 and less than an hour's time I think 2 extra minutes to change the bag in the vacuum could have been included. He may be competent, but I expect someone to complete the job they were hired to do.

In any event, I called their office and the person answering the phone took down my particulars, warning me it might be a day or two until Jules would be able to return the call. I hadn't heard back after a week. I called again, mentioned the earlier message, more particulars were taken and more sincere promise of a return call was given. Still no response. I called again a few weeks after that. Nothing! I called yet another time, voiced my frustration and was told Jules would be made aware that this was my fourth call, would take the matter very seriously and would definitely get in touch with me ASAP. Guess what?... I still haven't heard from him. The person who'd originally suggested we use J.L. Dufour was surprised and disappointed by our story. Its a shameful way to treat customers and a shameful way to run a business... and one has to think, reflects on the quality of the actual roofing work they do.
