Traveled from Seattle. Service was wonderful, very accommodating and quick. Food was delicious and was so much left over. Would come back again

    Halo halo

Had an amazing experience at Kulinarya with their Kamayan feast! The staff were friendly and accommodating. When we pre-ordered from the menu selections we were able to choose a dishes from various categories including pork, beef, chicken, vegetables, and seafood. My favourite dish was the Pinakbet. The feast itself definitely fed more than our group could eat. Many leftover were taken home. The restaurant isn't too big, so it is best to make a reservation. The night I went it was fully booked with three big groups. The halo halo was a refreshing and fun way to end the meal.

Amazing spot for authentic Filipino food! The service was great with the staff and owner making sure your dining experience was as good as the hot made to order meals! Their lunch special was so good! We had the lunch menu pork belly kare kare! Generous portion size for what you pay and it was a total hit! Ambience was still work in progress but don't let that scare you. Best Filipino food in town! Thank you Tita!

Kulinarya is a gem in the suburbs of Vancouver! As a Filipino, I know good Filipino food. Kulinarya has very delicious sinigang, and a vegan option tofu sisig that satisfies! The grilled pusit is the best I've ever had as it was cooked just right making the bite perfect and not chewy. Their choice of decors, detailed table settings and furniture creates a perfect ambience for dining. We walked in on a very busy Saturday evening without reservations. Carlee made a way for us to be accommodated promptly...she told us it may be one hour wait and we were willing to wait that long but it turned out to be a 20 minute wait. Carlee served our table and her service is impeccable. I would dine and recommend Kulinarya as often as I could but I'm just visiting Canada. Our experience at Kulinarya makes our vacation memories of British Columbia unforgettable! 5 stars! Cheers!

MASARAP!!! Kulinarya is an extraordinary neighborhood restaurant in the Grandview-Woodland area which blends into Little Italy. The restaurant while small, packs a punch on all levels. Ambiance-Not fancy but clean and decorated well with plants, pictures, and house items giving off a "welcome to my kitchen" vibe. Food-We talked with the owner and her recipes come from the best source of course, her mom. =) Over the years a few tweaks but not enough to take away from the traditional Filipino flavors. Portions are huge. We got: Kate-Kare which is beef, tripe, and vegetables in a rich peanut butter sauce. This was really good but a little daring for us to order because my wife really love's her own mom's version and mom beats restaurant 99.9% of the time lol. She liked it but just in case, mom-in-law if you're reading this yours still rules. The owner suggested the Crispy Binagoongan which is crispy pork, eggplant, green beans , in shrimp paste sauce. I was genuinely surprised because I was worried the strong smell of the bagoóng shrimp paste would overwhelm but it didn't. It ended up being my favorite dish. Tofu Sisig: we love pork Sisig but with beef and pork already picked, another meat dish seemed too much. It was solid but lol, I would have liked the pork still. Drinks also had a Filipino twist. How about an Ube-colada? Dessert and booze at the same time! My wife ordered a virgin mango mojito which she loved even without a buzz. Service-I really enjoy when I see a place that has "regular" clientele. It means they have developed a loyal friendly relationship. While I didn't hear "NORM!" being yelled, I did see the owner excitedly greet customers by name. It's not just Filipinos either. The restaurant was packed with multiple ethnic groups when we visited. I think the fantastic combination of excellent food and a caring "Are you bisog (full)?" mentality keeps them coming back. A must try when you are in the area!

Tapas lumpia and chicken adobo on rice

Filipino comfort food is always a good idea. Kulinarya dishes are classic with a twist of hipster or maybe just because it's on the Drive. The chicken adobo is good and not oily. The lumpia is OK. The tapsilog was yum. The only thing I didn't like is the coffeee which was just Nespresso lol.

Vegan filipino options! While I usually stick to full vegan or vegetarian restaurants when traveling, my partner and I couldn't resist dining at Kulinarya when we saw they had clearly labeled vegan options. Sadly, it is such a rarity to find these foods made vegan. When we arrived around 6/6:30pm, we walked inside and saw the place was completely packed! It's a modestly sized spot but we weren't expecting a full house. Fortunately, there were a couple spots outside and they were perfect for a nice summer's day. Due to the busyness, I assume, it was a little slow in getting our order taken but once that was done the food came shortly later. There was initially a snafu where they brought out someone's non-vegan dish (much to our chagrin), but after that it was smooth sailing. While I wasn't a huge fan of their fresh lumpia take (nothing beats the original spring-roll style), the pancit and the kalabasa were spot on. Everything was also gigantic portions and definitely too much for two people. I would recommend just splitting one entree and appetizer. Finally, they're located in a fun neighbourhood in Vancouver. Plenty of things to check out before and after if you have extra time.

    BBQ Pork

Stopped by here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. This was me and my boyfriend's first time having Filipino food in Vancouver and everything we ordered was so flavorful! We got the beef kare-kare, lechon kawali and bbq pork skewers. The vegetables on the kare-kare were perfectly cooked, even the eggplants still have a good amount of bite to it! The portions were quite big and we had to box some for takeout (my boyfriend typically eats a lot!). Only comments were that I wish there's a bit more fat on the pork skewers (that charcoal caramelized fat ) and that the food is on the pricier side, which I guess can't be compared to other more fast food style places. Overall, we had a great experience here and would love to come back and try their sisig and sinigang!

The amazing Sisig comes in a sizzling platter!

This place is a gem - very friendly staff, and the food comes quick. - the fried calamari appetizer is legit. You know when calamari is just right - tender and soft yet still chewy? This is it, great texture. The fried bell peppers are delightfully sweet too. A bit small though. - the Sisig is the star and a must. Sizzling platter, very crispy, and the onions and veggies give it a wonderful strong flavour. - pair the Sisig with garlic rice. Goes very well together. - the pancit (batil Patong) is a nice blend of diff ingrediwnts. Would def come back, esp for the Sisig.

Filipino comfort food in Vancouver! First impression, the restaurant itself was so cozy, aesthetically pleasing, clean, and quaint, I honestly felt like I was stepping into a relatives' house being greeted by friendly staff. The food was so good! Portion size was generous, served family style. I also love that they serve Filipino breakfast all day, especially served with garlic fried rice...chef's kiss! Kare-Kare (peanut butter based stew with beef and veggies) 10/10! Very flavorful, nutty, and creamy stew. Loved that it still tasted authentic and just like home cooking. Bangsilog Breakfast (fried boneless milkfish served with egg, picked cucumbers and onions, and garlic fried rice)- 10/10! The fish was crunchy and had a nice vinegary marinade flavor. The garlic fried rice and egg completed the dish and was so tasty! Probably the best garlic fried rice from any Filipino restaurant that I've tasted. Ube Brownies- 7/10. This was a little too sweet at first bite, and the Ube flavor wasn't as potent. Tokwa Baboy (fried pork belly and tofu with a soy and vinegar sauce)- 9/10. This was yummy, just wish it was a bit more crunchy. I loved the tofu incorporated into it making it a great appetizer! Overall, we absolutely loved our dining experience at Kulinarya, and would definitely recommend going here if you are in Vancouver!

They even make their own sauces that are bottled and you can bring home. They seemed to be set up for take out and catering. But they do have seating for about 20-25 people. We ordered: BBQ Pork Combo meal $10.50 Chicken Inasal Combo meal $10.50 both with Garlic - Annatto Rice +$.75 each and we added pork spring rolls $4 The combo meals are tasty and filling. With a slight char on the BBQ pork which is what I enjoy when having skewers. Honestly the garlic- annato rice wasn't really worth it. I personally couldn't taste it over the sauce on either the BBQ pork or the chicken Inasal. And would have been happy with just regular rice. The lumpiang was meaty and everything I look for in a crispy spring roll. The dessert options area also great. Not sure if its seasonal but they had a slice of coconut (buko) pie in their fridge. Whole buko pie need to be per-ordered and picked up on the weekend. They also have leche flan and ube cheesecake for a sweet treat. Over all a great comforting small business with friendly staff and a meal under $12. How can you go wrong? Give Hapag Ihaw-Ihaw a try if you're in the area.

I went here with a friend to try, well not bad actually, the carrying product is Lechong Cebu,a rosted pork. There are only few dishes in the menu, the server claimed they are coming soon. they also do catering service thats what the waitor told us. we wish to have a bulalo its a beef soup but sold out that day, so since we were already here and our cravings for this day is Filipino cuisine we ordered other availble dishes. First one is the pork sisig, it was good,we both dont eat liver so we asked the server to exclude it.oh how i missed home(Philippines) on first bite of the sisig,it was delish, the flavor of the spices, the lemon and the egg while it was smoking hot on a sizzling plate, very good. we ordered appetizer includes 2 Pork bbq, 2 feep fried spring rolls(lumpiang shanghai),and 3 pcs of chicken wings well i would say they were ordinary taste,we also got the beef caldereta,hmmmmm....another ordinary taste.plus we had the garlic rice and hot water with lemon. I am not sure if the dishes were pre-cooked. We havent try the carrying dish which is the lechon Cebu, for sure if we will come back thats the one we will going to order. Very small place, crews are bi-lingual and very friendly, you know friendliness is one of the best trait of Filipinos. They also sell some chicken skin chicharon and ube pandesal. Pricing is just okay, you pay for what you wil get. Theres no TV, but theres music playing while we were there.Wash room is available.(Needs a lot of make over and improvement with the interior design.) If am not mistaken this place is a bubble tea gig before,As per friends news it was sold. Wifi now is all over the city so i dont think that would be an issue. Parking is metered one unless you wish to park in some residential area and you will just do some waking...sometimes serious walking because it can be far. Most clients that day came for pick up orders..a lot of them so i feel that this place has a huge potential to bloom. Noise level is average and nothing i can say on the interior design because theres nothing at all, like i said it"s pretty new place. Good for small group and kids friendly. Im wishing the owner the best of luck...i hope they should incorporate more Filipino dishes in their menu. Accept credit and debit card and cash as well
