At 3 o'clock in the morning on Monday, I finally saw a doctor, but the doctor said that he might have acute appendicitis and needed to be transferred to another hospital. We struggled like this until we were discharged from the hospital at 11 o'clock on Monday morning. I don't believe that anyone can still afford to take their children to Kumon. I called them and told them. To my surprise, one teacher told me that my child could get free tutoring due to illness. I gladly accepted. When I came to Kumon today, I asked when I could make up classes for free, but a teacher at the front desk asked me to show a certificate issued by the hospital. To prove that my son did go to the ER. This behavior makes me feel insulted and ridiculous! If my son only has vomiting and diarrhea and does not see a doctor or go to the hospital, do I have to bring my child in front of them to prove that my child is sick? I didn't care that there would be this free make-up lesson. But I felt insulted. Insulting me and my children.

The teacher is amazing and we saw the difference in our son at home. He came home showing us that he learned how to peel an orange himself and he became more independent overall. The only reason we decided to leave is thw distance. We live in Dania Beach and with the traffic and school zones in the morning, too much time was being taken for traveling. She had almost a year of recurring ear infections before having ear tube surgery, which caused delays in her speech and communication. Because of that, she has needed a little extra patience and support. What means the most to us is that we have never once heard a complaint from her teachers ( Ms Rubina and Ms Ana ). Instead, they have always given us encouragement, reassurance, and support. After a few bad experiences at other school, our biggest priority was finding somewhere safe and caring where our daughter would be loved and accepted. Montessori Ivy League has been exactly that. And academically, it has honestly gone beyond our expectations. She loves to read, has a big vocabulary, is great with fine motor skills, has wonderful manners, and is becoming very independent. Her teachers never made us feel like she was a "problem." They saw her as a child who just needed a little extra support, and they truly love her. She is now in Class 4. We were nervous about the transition, but it went so smoothly. Right now, I am spending about six hours every other day at school as her temporary shadow while we wait for ABA support. Being there so much has actually given me the chance to see the school and teachers more closely than ever. I have become even more impressed with Ms. Salma, the director. I recently found out that she is also a Montessori author and has written books that are actually used in the classrooms. She truly believes in the traditional Montessori method and in Dr. Maria Montessori's approach. The teachers are Montessori certified, and you can really see the difference. It's honestly pretty amazing watching a group of four-year-olds count from 1-100, know all seven days of the week and the months of the year, learn their city and state, and at the same time learn how to be independent and respectful. Ms. Marie is our daughter's teacher now. She is firm and has high expectations, but she is also so kind and loving. The kids love her, and our daughter already loves her too. I also love the culture of the school. The children are kind and respectful and love helping the younger kids. Our daughter is the baby of her class, and she is so loved by her little friends. In the two years we have been there, I have never seen an aggressive parent environment either. Of course, this school may not be for everyone. The teachers believe in boundaries, discipline, manners, and accountability. Personally, I think that is part of why the children are so well-mannered and kind. When Ms. Salma found out that I have to temporarily shadow my daughter, she said, "Please let us know whatever we can do to help your child." That really says everything about her. And one more thing I really appreciate: when you tour the school, they don't put on a special show. You see a normal day, just as it is. I truly think this school is way underrated. If you are looking for a safe, loving, structured place where your child can learn, grow, and become independent, please give Montessori Ivy League a chance. Come see it for yourself.
