Out of all the Kung fu teas, I feel this is the best one. It's kinda weird since they should all be the same. Although it's powder, I love the flavor of the the tea and since I'm lactose intolerant, I love the fact that they use lactase milk. The staff could be nicer though. Apparently this is the most popular bubble tea places on 8th avenue. So many bubble tea places on 8th avenue, you just don't know which one to go to, but this particular one always have customers and lines can be quite long on a hot sunny day. I am not a huge fan of sugary drinks, but when I do come here the only drink I usually get is a hot honey green tea, especially when I find myself having a sore throat. I sometimes get milk tea with herbal jelly with less sugar and it's not bad. Don't know if they are remodeling or redecorating the inside, but it's so plain. No decoration on the wall, just plain white walls. Don't find anything special about this bubble tea joint. The staff are friendly, but there were times where I came here and they are always chit chatting among themselves and forget to notice the customers walking in and needing to place an order. The best bubble teas I've had so far! Everything is power and made with measurement, so the taste is durable and well balanced every time. Although they have many flavors to choose from, I like their original milk green tea with herbal/grass jelly & with 70% sugar. Sunday around 4pm there were 2 people in front of me in line. I asked for the grapefruit drink with tapioca but they were out. They also did not have taro... I ordered a large green tea with tapioca. The wait was about 15 minutes for my beverage. It was good, the tapioca was nice and chewy and the tea was well balanced in terms of the amount of ice and sugar. The girls that worked there had a uniform qipao inspired -- Neat touch. I'd come back here again, because they have a good product. However the service leaves something to be desired. read more

Love love love this place! Cheap and delicious bubble tea. The flavours are subtle and I love that you can order it with little ice and less sugar. Bubble teas are usually incredibly sweet which makes it an awful experience when drinking it and it can also leave you thirsty for water after finishing your drink (which is weird because you just quenched your thirst but to become even more thirsty? HOUSTON, WE GOT A PROBLEM!). To be able to customize the amount of sugar that you want in your drink is a great thing to do. Kung Fu Tea stores vary in prices because of their location. You should definitely hit up the ones that are situated away from the busy and touristy spots for a better deal at a lower price. I've had my fair share of bubble teas, and this is by far one of the best bubble tea's I've tasted. The tapioca is done right, the texture and chewiness is on point...lets not pretend like you haven't had some stale/slimy tapioca before in your drank. The tapioca is slightly sweetened, which I think is a personal preference but I enjoy the subtle sweetness. The tea here is actually brewed strong, so no matter which flavor you choose, the tea stands out. You can tell its not just some tea bag thrown into a kettle. Beware that the bubble milk tea is sweet and if you don't like your bubble teas real sweet like I do, you should adjust your sweetness to half or less sugar. I never knew there was Kung Fu Tea in Brooklyn, until my friend wrote about it on Facebook. I've only been to this one, once. It's actually one of the roomier Kung Fu Tea's, definitely more roomier than the two Kung Fu Tea's I've been to in Chinatown. The only drink I've tried here is the passion fruit tea and it was WOW! I may have been swayed away from TBaar. The drinks here taste much better, and their lid system is great for carryout. The service is extremely quick at getting crowds moving. Loss of a star because their slushie machine hasnt been working the last few times I've been here. Also, I think it's slightly more expensive, even hough they have daily specials. When this place first opened up, it was a HIT. Everyone and their mothers went here to buy bubble tea. I didn't understand what the rave was about until I finally tried it. The first time I went here I ordered the Kung Fu Green Tea (hot) and I was in loveeeee! The milk that they used was so creamy and not too sweet. I was instantly a fan of this place because of their green tea with milk! I've also tried other drinks such as: Passion Fruit Green Tea - I asked for this without sugar but it was still too sweet for my liking because their syrup already has sugar in it so if you're looking for something unsweetened, this is NOT the drink for you. Red Bean WOW - The reason why I tried this is because my cousin always orders this. I'm not usually a big fan of red bean but this drink is pretty tasty. It has cream, red bean and different types of tapioca and jelly mixed into it giving it a nice and refreshing flavor. Taro Milk Tea - Though it's called TARO milk tea, there is absolutely NO taro flavor in here whatsoever! It's made with a powder and milk tea. I personally enjoy the taste but knowing its made with powder instead of the actual thing makes me not want to drink it because I do not know what the powder is made of. It probably doesn't have as much selection of bubble milk teas as other competitors but their original bubble milk tea is creamy, aromatic and addicting! Probably one of the best ones in the area, but I guess going to college in Los Angeles has spoiled me in terms of bubble tea (aka boba in the SGV/626 - Holla at AU79, Honeyboba and Half&Half). The tea here always tastes a bit weak, as if the water:tea ratio was off by just a tiny yet still noticeable amount. The tapioca seems to have been slightly sweetened (someone told me they add a little honey), which may or may not be to your liking. For the price though, you get your money's worth. read more

There is a reason why Kung Fu Tea is starting to grow around the city. The stores are small and it is usually packed. However, the staff works their butt off to get all the orders out as soon as possible. Average wait time is around 5-10 minutes based on my experience. Easily worth the wait in my opinion. Now onto my recommendation. I know everyone has their preference of flavors, but I highly encourage everyone to try the Taro Milk Black Tea with tapioca. The only knock I have on this place is that they tend to make the drinks a bit sweet. Just ask for half sugar or however amount you like and they'll adjust the sugar level. I deliberately made a yelp account just to write a review for this kung fu tea. I come here often but this time, there was an employee who was just utterly rude. I have to give credit to the employees who do their job without complaining because it is their job. The service is always okay, could be better, but this time, it was just infuriating. I ordered my drink and as I asked if they could take out some of the lychee bits in the lychee black tea, a slightly chubby guy with a small lisp looked over. I stood near the counter waiting for my order. I saw them making the drinks. One of the employee said something to the thick employee. The thick lisp employee then loudly said "ARE YOU SERIOUS? WHY WOULD THEY ORDER A LYCHEE DRINK IF THEY DON'T WANT THE LYCHEE?" I did not want to make a scene but that was just rude, especially since I was standing right there. Even the other employee made a face at him, like to just do it. It is your job. Maybe customers actually want the drink without the lychee bits (which actually look like pieces of salmon) ruining it. I'm not sure if it is because he saw that I was a girl, because my friend would order it for me sometimes and he never had such an encounter. If he has a problem doing something as simple as filtering the drink for customers or adjusting it to the customers liking, then he should find a job somewhere else (if anyone wants him) because customer service isn't for him. Imagine how starbucks employees feel. The immaturity of this employee is just disgusting and the owner should really keep an eye out for such behaviors. read more

YUM! That's all I have to say :D Although despite the size of the place (which is indeed small and LOTS of people stay in line to order) I would say it's worth the wait even though you'll be crowded. The service is good. And the price is comparable to Starbuck cost. My most favorite one is the Kung Fu bubble Tea/ Chai Tea/ Latte/ and the best of all Passion Fruit WITH jelly and bubble!
