I always hear people running their mouth about Kung Fu Tea and then I'll catch them at KFT getting a drink anyway. Oh wait that's also me. As a former employee (at a different location), I usually have fairly high expectations since I remember giving everything my best effort to serve the community of Charlottesville with some awesome boba. The one on State street in Madison is not bad. I've been to this KFT a number of times on different occasions and it is usually not too long of a wait. That being said, employee turnover seems to be fairly high, which makes sense for a college town, so the quality is not always consistent. The building it's in is fairly old and I can tell from the OG KFT signs that are still up in the establishment, but nothing wrong with a little nostalgia. The last time I stopped by, my girlfriend and I got a Kirby drink to share, and it was actually very good. Hopefully they keep it on the menu for good, but it sounds like it is a limited edition item. While there is certainly better boba I've had in the past in other places, but for Madison, Wisconsin, it's a nice, convenient spot for decent boba when you get the craving.

The Kung Fu Fighters are one of my favourite bands. Their biggest hit was "Learn To Fu" but I also really love "Ever-oolong." What to get: Lemon Black Tea With Tapioca! Or in winter: Any of the hot milk teas! Which milk teas are best: Honey Oolong! Oolong! Maybe Taro or Almond! Generally speaking, Kung Fu Tea scores 5, but it's usually a low 5, considering that it's a massive international corporate chain, whose milk teas don't match up to the best chains: Sharetea, Gong Cha and Coco. However, they're still really good, and the fruit teas here are among the best. Especially the lemon black tea which absolutely rocks my world. If it's not on the menu, demand it! Other fruit teas (Berry, Orange, Grapefruit) must also be ordered off-menu as Black Tea instead of the meh Green. Also the Lemon Black tastes good as a Lemon Oolong, but everyone else hates it because they have bad taste. This KFT is located right in the heart of everything, and this is the perfect location for a college town Kung Fu Tea. It's on State Street alongside all of the mostly pedestrian-only thoroughfares which the college kids wander and walk and look for eats & drinks that will excite them. And nothing in town is more exciting than the delicious lemon black tea and the other amazing concoctions from this great location of KFT. Much tastier than most of the locations in Chicago and it is the best boba in the Madison area by a mile, tied with Jade Mountain, which is very different, much more local, and much more adorable. But it doesn't have anything quite as amazing as the Lemon Black Tea here. It's also better than any of the ones I tried in Milwaukee so I would regrettably say that this is the best boba in Wisconsin. The reason it is regretful is because it's a major chain - but when it's this good and everything else doesn't live up to the standards, you have to be honest. Anyway you should come over later because I'm Kung like a horse and I can Fu for Tea or Four hours.

Cute little boba shop on State Street. Not accepting walk-ins right now so all orders have to be online which normally would be fine but their app and website are not user friendly at all Menu is blank and doesn't show pictures, app sign up has several steps to it, crashes frequently and has quite glitchy. Took us about 15 minutes to order. Boba is tasty. Would recommend getting a size up as the base size is a little small. Drinks also tend to be quite sweet so scale down. Boba is a good texture and flavor. Slightly smaller than the standard but still well done. They use non dairy for my lactose intolerant friends.

I like the wow milk the most, especially with red beans or green beans on top. The place is packed during late nights.

The boba drinks here has been the best I've found in Madison so far. The boba itself is a hit or miss sometimes. This time I ordered a Thai Tea and it tasted more of milk than tea than it usually does. My boyfriend got the passionfruit slushy, which is his favorite and it never goes wrong. Even my Thai tea drink wasn't cold enough to cool me off in this crazy heat. I should've gone for the slushy! I do like that they offer games here to keep us customers entertained, though finding a seat is hard to come by due to the very few tables that they have.

    KF Honey Tea so gooooood!

Amazing bubble tea!! I actually didn't order a bubble tea but I tried my friend's milk tea and it was awesome! Not too sweet and the boba were soft yet chewy. I got the KF honey tea which can be ordered cold without boba. I think I'll have strong urges to have this drink again! Too bad I was just visiting Madison! It has a bright honey taste that isn't too sweet and was incredibly refreshing for the sunny fall day. I would absolutely come here again!

Fun tea shop. Bubble teas are thr bomb!

I was looking for a beverage to take with me and I thought I would check out Kung Fu Tea. I ordered the Orange Green Tea. But really you can custom your drink anyway you want. It was made quickly and efficiently. It was a cold green tea with orange juice. I did add bubbles (tapioca balls). It was a refreshing drink. I need to come with more friends so I can try different drinks, like the intriguing Herbal Jelly Wow Milk. The space was well lit and good for studying. Or good to hang with friends. Looking forward to coming back.

We stopped in for a midday pick-me-up and were greeted with a menu that felt more like a mood board: vibrant, customizable, and full of refreshing promise. I ordered the Mango Watermelon Iced Tea, which arrived crisp, fruit-forward, and exceptionally balanced. It wasn't overly sweet, and the watermelon notes didn't overpower the mango--a rare achievement in fruit tea profiles. My favorite of the visit, though, was the Moo Long Purple specialty drink. A layered beauty with oolong tea, lavender undertones, and rich purple hues that swirled like a galaxy in a cup. It had a soft floral fragrance and a creamy finish that made each sip linger just a second longer than expected. Staff were quick, friendly, and familiar with their blends--offering insights on flavor pairings and boba textures. The shop itself was clean, cozy, and a sweet retreat from the bustle of State Street. However, it felt like the curry was overly watered down, and I wish it had more thickness to it so you can taste more of the curry roux instead of straight up chili spice Service was nice. Food came out at a reasonable time. You order at a Kiosk or window, and pick it up once your name is called. It is a clean-up-after-yourself spot, so dishes must be placed in the designated area. They were very responsive when I asked if they could refill the communal water dispenser! I enjoyed this place a lot, and the price for the plate was extremely reasonable ($13.50 w/o tax for my bowl) for a very filling meal. I rated it 4 Stars since I wish the curry had more thickness to it and more broccoli (only got 2 broccolis).

I prefer the darker, richer, and more bitter style of Taiwanese milk tea, so this one didn't hit the mark for me. Ended up tossing a good portion of it, which was disappointing. The tech ordering screen was super convenient and made the process smooth. Plenty of seating inside, but it was a bit humid, which wasn't the most comfortable. Pistachio one was my favorite. There were many Asian ice creams. Propitious mango was a good one. There were a lot of small food places in the food hall. I tried food from a lot of different places. The food hall had a lot of seats, and was neatly maintained. It was never crowded. Kawasaki is close to the entry of Global Market. So the first time I was there, I went straight to this place. I had a Chicken katsu rice bowl. It was one of the best food I had in the food hall. Display had some very delicious and cute cakes. Next time I should try some of that. Taiwan Street has nice pho and bubble tea. I went for a pistachio milk shake, without bubbles. It was good. But I think I should have really went for a pho. They have a lots of sweets in display. I went for a peach swiss roll and a sesame ball. Both were good. From Dumpling House, I went for a chicken and mushroom dumpling and chinese chive pie. Both were good . It came steaming hot. I think I should have gone for some of their more favorite items like chive and pork dumpling. From Nice Flavor Stir Fry , I went for a sauteed sliced lamb with cumin. Generally this is a really flavorful dish which you cannot go wrong with. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Flavors were off, and the quality fo meat was not as good as I expected. Stir fry chicken mei fun was my favorite item from Bowl Bowl Rice. It came hot and was flavorful. I also had a tea leaf flavor egg. It was just $1. But it came with egg shell. I had to peel it. Egg was slightly less flavorful than I expected. Mochi donut is the main item in Glazed. There were some food items as well, but I didn't find takers for that. I went for 3 donuts - Oreo, honey dew and churro. The flavors were all interesting. May be oreo was my favorite. Donut texture was more chewy. From S&B Hmong Kitchen, I went for a fried rice from this place. It was flavorful. Cilantro and scallion on top gave a nice flavor kick. From Poké Mì, I went for a drunken noodles as my entree. It was not as good as I expected. Flavors were off. May be I should have gone for bahn mi. I haven't seen sugar cane juice anywhere else in Madison. So went for one. I thought it was just ok.

It was weird, the outside crunchiness was sweet and maybe Savory but the inside cheese had no flavor. Nonetheless, it was cool and I could see it, again, it being a fun thing for the Young crowd.
