This place is truly disgusting. The staff is rude. The carpets are dirty and almost looks like it's a urine stain. All the chairs are stained. All the floor walls baseboards have holes in it. They make you wait over an hour to see the doctor. I'm at a loss for words, this is truly the most disgusting and unsanitary Office I have seen. read more

I have written a review of Dr Manzar S Kurashi before and to me he is just as Meticulous today As he was on the first day I met him over 15 years ago. If you need a Caring, Knowledgeable, Family Doctor, Dr Kurashi is the absolute BEST His Expertise in the Medical Field including Surgery is Astounding, you will know immediately that he is one of a kind. People really need stop bit**ing and complaining about the wait, get over it honestly. Sign in and go get coffee near by and return an hour later. All I can say is when I was suffering for over 2 weeks not knowing the cause, and being misdiagnosed by 2 different doctors under my health insurance, I decided to go outside of my insurance. Dr. Kuraishi is knowledgeable and patient. He really takes his time to listen to what's going on. Bottom line: I trust him a great deal, and he's always done me right. People may whine about having to wait to see him. Well, I've always had to wait longer than usual for the very best doctors I've ever had. To me, waiting a long time is a GOOD sign. I was searching for a good general practitioner, and Dr. Kuraishi's reviews were all wonderful. My personal experience was good and bad: Bad/annoying experience: -parking in the area is a nightmare around 4pm, there is a parking garage for the building but you have to pay (wish I would've known that going there) -my appt was on a Monday, and I waited over an hour, and it's the smallest waiting room I've ever been in, so you're in a small enclosed space with sick people. You can also wait outside of the office and they'll call you in. So just keep that in mind if you park in the garage, b/c you will end up paying more the longer you're there. Good experience: -the nurse who always comes in first was very nice, asked good thorough questions -I only waited about 10minutes until Dr. Kuraishi came into the office. He called me by the wrong name at first, so I corrected him. -HOWEVER, he was very nice, genuine, and was thorough in asking me questions and examining my problem. I felt really comfortable with him and you can just tell he loves his work. He also apologized for how long I had to wait. This was my first experience with this doctor's office, so we'll see how my future ones go, but I will go back and give it another shot. read more

Everyone was very nice. Parking is a nightmare here but other than that this is the first office I've found in my network that isn't awful. The wait was long, but once you go in you realize its because they take time to talk to each and every person that goes in there. I'd rather wait and have a doctor be thorough than be rushed and feel like cattle. There's also a little store/pharmacy on the 1st floor if you get hungry. read more

Dr. Kuraishi is the best. I have been going to him for a few years now with problems ranging from minor skin procedures to sun spots on my back. He is very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. The first time I visited him was for a scar on my hip that was welting, he advised me on how to treat it and helped remove some of the scar tissue. Now you can barely see it. Recently I visited the doctor was to treat sunspots on my back. He immediately knew the diagnosis (tinea versicolor) and explained to me the cause, symptoms, and treatment. I would rather wait a little bit and visit a doctor who I know will solve my problem, then not wait at all just to be told something I already knew. read more

Do not even think about becoming a new patient. I had a physical scheduled for today. Showed up on time and after and hour and thirty five minutes i left in frustrations. That is a totally unacceptable wait time. I've waited in urgent care less time. If I showed up that late to an appointment I would be turned away - zero respect for the patient's time. When I voiced my frustration the nurse said that he is normally that behind. If you are that behind don't take new patients. Ridiculous. Even when I left the parking attendant knew who my doctor was based on the wait and said 'yeah, he has a lot of patients.' Also called and left a voice mail asking for a call back to make sure I wasn't getting charged I never received call back - no surprise. Don't waste your time. read more

I had Dr. Kuraishi as a PCP for a few years. I only left because I had to switch insurances. He listens to patients. This means wait times are long, so block out time in your schedule and bring a book. The wait time is worth it, because he cares and listens and bases treatment on that. He also specializes in dermatology, and skin cancer runs in my family so this was perfect for me. He caught and removed a cancerous mole on my face, so I feel especially grateful for his care. read more

Went to his office for a physical. Chose him because of great reviews on Healthgrades and in my town, Burbank. And I needed an annual physical, which was free with my insurance. What folk said about long waits was true. Waited 1.5 hours--longest wait ever in a tiny office that looks like it was last remodeled in the 70s. Got taken back and had blood pressure taken by assistant. Assistant was surprised at my "excellent blood pressure." 120 over 85 Then had to sit and wait in the examination room another HOUR for Dr. Kuraishi. He came in and asked why I was there. I told him a physical. He said he doesn't give physicals on first visit. WHAT? That's why I was there! Now I'll have to pay. It upset me. He then said something strange, "Let me check your blood pressure again." Then told me it was super high (150 over 95) and I might need to be on medicine. Asked if I worked out. I did. Asked if I ate right. I did. Told me that I was at risk because of my family history, which he'd just found out. Of course, it was high after being irritated by the wait and the refusal to give me the exam. I told him his assistant just took it and said it was great. He said, "She doesn't know what she's doing," which was a startling thing to say. Told me to buy a blood pressure kit and take it daily, come back in a month and if it was still high, he would prescribe medicine. When would I get the physical I asked for? Who knows? Checked at CVS. My pressure was high. It's never been high. I started to freak out. What happened? Apparently WAS because of being irritated and scared by Dr. Kuraishi. It was back to normal the next day. But I was turned off and couldn't trust this guy. He was way too anxious to prescribe me medicine and far too much in a rush to get to some other patient even after making me wait 2.5 hours. His last name is Kuraishi, not the way it appears here. Thankfully, I've had much better experiences with doctors, so I won't deal with this. read more

As a new patient, i went in 20 minutes early than my scheduled appointment time. After 1 hour and 30 minutes, i was told it may take another 1 hour before i can see the doctor. Now, this is totally unprofessional. I asked around the other patients and as per them waiting here is a regular thing and sometimes may take up to 3 hours. Are you kidding me ? What's the point of having an appointment then if you can't value other people's time ? I just left the office without seeing this doctor. No thanks, I will find another doctor who cares and values patients time. read more

I have mixed feeling about this Doctor office. Let me start of with says Dr. Kuraishi is wonderful! He will spend, as much time with you as you need. You don't ever feel like he just wants to get you in and out like other Dr. office I have been to. He is a very kind hearted man who really loves what he does for a living and it shows. On the other hand I am really thinking of not going to him anymore or seeing if he works at another place. The only reason for this is because of his back office Nurse. She is really only a medical assistant. She is young with long dark hair. When you go to the office she takes you to the room. She is not an RN not an LVN but she feels the need to tell you what is wrong with you or how to treat it. She is very rude and thinks for some reason she is the doctor and doesn't tell the doctor things when you call in and ask to talk to him. I have never been talked to or treated so badly by a person in the medical field EVER! I don't think Dr. Kuraishi knows what she is doing or saying because I wouldn't think a man like him would let someone treat HIS patients like this. I don't know if it is because she doesn't want to work or wants to think she is more than she is due to the fact when she asks why you are seeing the Dr. today and after you tell her, she will tell you that what you told her is wrong. She has no problem violating Dr./patient privilege. If she wanted to be a doctor and treat people like this she should have gone to medical school and not use Dr. Kuraishi like this. I would hate for her to start to give him a bad name and loses patients because of her. read more

Called to schedule a new appointment and the receptionist said that he runs late as much as an hour or more for appointments. I don't care how good you are if you can't keep appointments and expect people to wait that long that shows 1) Disrespect for other people's time 2) A very big ego. Both of which I can do without. There are many other qualified doctors out there who are happy to show up to appointments when they schedule them. read more

Dr. Kuraishi is one of the few doctors I've seen who actually LISTENS to his patient. He's also very honest and knowledgeable about treatments and he never acts like he's in a hurry to rush you out. I have complete confidence in his abilities and trust everything he says 100%. There are some drawbacks to his office: You will wait at least an hour, maybe two, maybe more for your appointment. His staff is very honest and frank about this, so no one should be caught off guard by it - but it is a drag to spend the better part of your afternoon sitting and waiting. His office doesn't accept debit/credit cards, so you have to pay by check for with cash. The ladies who work in his office are all very polite BUT they do not communicate well with each other and they're not so great at communicating with the patient either. For instance, the first time I called for an appointment, I told them I wanted a yearly physical with a papsmear. They told me he didn't do physicals on the first appointment, I had to first book a "introductory" appointment and then a physical later. Okay... whatever. So, I book the introductory appointment and follow up appointment - but (even though I told them I wanted a physical to begin with) they had my follow up appt down to be about my migraines. I only found this out by calling the day before my follow-up appointment to reconfirm time and that a physical and papsmear would take place (I always do this, for apparent good reason). Their excuse as to why they had me down for migraines and not a physical was because during my introductory appointment I had talked to the doctor about migraines. Ok, that's true - but the whole reason I was in the introductory appointment to begin with was because it was a hoop for me to jump thru to have a physical!! I wish that was the only confusing game of telephone I'd had with them, but it's not. It happens every time I have to call over there for something. So, my advice: take down the name of the girl you talk to every time and make notes of what was said and ALWAYS follow up to reconfirm. Normally, the unorganized office girls would be enough of a reason for me not to go there anymore, but Dr. Kuraishi himself is so great that I've just decided I have to treat his office staff like they're children I'm babysitting. read more
