This is a review for the RIVERSIDE DR location. Let me start by saying that the artists at this location are phenomenal. That's not the reasoning for the one star review. The person who is supposedly over booking sessions has a bad attitude problem. And that turned me away immediately. I was trying to speak on the phone with an artist because I had questions about a tattoo that I was going to be getting which would cost me over $1200. But the only person I could talk to was Andrew because I guess he handles booking. He kept bringing up the fact that I had to pay a 100 deposit which is non refundable under any circumstances. But when I gave him my card twice he kept saying it wouldn't go through. So I said I'll try and come up there another day to pay the deposit in person. When I called today to try and speak with Justin, he told me he wasn't there and when I tried to ask Andrew the questions I had for Justin before I gave him any of my money that I can't get refunded, he stated " look man there's nothin I can discuss over the phone and Justin won't take your seriously anyway without a deposit" so when I said "well I guess I'll just hold o-"he immediately said "ok!" and hung up the phone in my face. This tells me that your not allowed to inquire about a tattoo before you pay a deposit. And not to mention how short he was with me. So I called back to let him know that you don't just hang up on customers and I will not be returning for a second tattoo. After I hung up he proceeded to call my phone multiple times and left a voicemail saying I need to learn how shops work. I know how shops work I have plenty of tattoos lol. He was just completely unprofessional and I've never experienced this at any of the other shops I've been to. $100 deposit for a tattoo I was paying 1200-1400 for. I'm very big on respect so this place has definitely lost at least one customer. read more

Terrible experience. I used to come here for a good amount of my work but took a few year hiatus. Sent an email out this morning asking about some simple finger tattoos and receptionist told me I needed to come in and that "walk ins were available until close". I drove 45 mins, to this god forsaken city of traffic, just for her to tell me that the shop owner had left and only he could do it because the other artists weren't comfortable. No one there, now that my former artist Matt has left, can fill in an inch by half inch space in black? Not to mention I told her exactly what I needed done and she said walk ins were cool until close. I got there at 4PM and NO OTHER CUSTOMER WAS THERE. It was completely dead. No one in the lobby, no one in a chair. No actual artist could come over and speak to me and see that im not asking for anything crazy? I wasted $30 in gas, $20 parking, and 2 hours of my life driving. People constantly ask where I get my work done but I won't be a walking advertisement for this shop anymore. Just going to tell them I get my work done at Black 13. read more

I live less than a mile from the Kustom Thrills on riverside dr and I walk past it everyday and I had been wanting to start my right arm for a while and popped in and kinda told the front desk I wanted a basic hot pink line down my arm ... I had got a previous tattoo at the Kustom Thrills by Dukes and it was great so I figured this would be the same... With interval breaks, he did not stop for anything. He kept going using a single point needle for the entire project. The tattoo has perfect detail with concise precision and design with no detail spared. Very content with how it turned out. He is by appointment only. Also, they are taking COVID-19 very seriously. I had scripts done on both of my forearms by Forrest. The guy is flat out amazing! The saturation is unreal, so much so that 4 months later it looks like I just had them done. He also did a stunning large piece on a friend that I recommended. My first experience with Kustom Thrills was at the Riverside location, and it wasn't the greatest. However, my second experience was at the Main Street location, and Forrest Pollock more than made up for it. He was Phenomenal! Immediately upon meeting and speaking with him, I had a good feeling. He went above and beyond to make sure that he knew exactly what I wanted, and that everything was right before he proceeded. He wasn't in a hurry. He didn't try to do things differently than I wanted. He simply listened, offered his expert opinion, and then went on to give me 2 awesome tattoos. He's a great artist, and a heck of a nice guy. I came to Kustom Thrills - Yelp as my primary validation for my final selection of where to best go in Nashville - and I couldn't be happier. QUICK POINTS Clean, well-kept shop. Professional staff. Fair, reasonable pricing. Takes credit card, can tip with card through their system. CONSULTATION I came in for a consultation, just to get an idea of what I was getting into and what could be done, and Caitlin at the front desk was incredibly helpful! She eventually had me meet with one of the artists, Nathan, and I ended up scheduling an appointment with him. My two small tattoos were simpler in design - outline of California with a heart in SoCal, outline of Tennessee with a heart in Nashville - and Nathan still took a great deal of time making sure that everything was as true to shape, proportion, etc. I felt I was in good hands. APPOINTMENT For the actual appointment itself, they were right on schedule, which is always appreciated. Nathan took time to finalize the specifics to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I am sad to say that I definitely passed out twice before we were even through the first tattoo (note: eating enough for fuel before getting a tattoo seems to be a pretty important prep step, take note, and I am not great with needles so I suppose I should've seen it coming?), was most embarrassed, and Caitlin and Nathan were so great about it all. FINAL RESULTS I could not be happier with the finished product! Both tattoos came out so wonderfully. I don't foresee myself getting any more tattoos any time soon but I will definitely be referring Kustom Thrills, and Nathan specifically, to others! read more

They take pride in giving you a tattoo you are happy with and do not rush you or make you feel like just another customer they have to trace on. You could still go by and speak to them first, but know you prob won't just be a walk-in and you will have to wait a couple days or weeks to get your ink. I decided at 44 to get my first tattoo. I did a lot of research on all the local parlors and decided on a couple to talk to. The first one was so unfriendly that I didn't even consider them. The second was okay, but still not the feeling I was looking for from a place that is going to put something on my body that will be there forever. Then, out of the blue, a friend of mine told me about Chris Saint Clark and his shop, Kustom Thrills. So I just stopped by to check it out. Wow... I knew immediately that this was the place. The tattoo that I wanted was fairly detailed and I wanted it done pretty small. Every artist that I had talked to previously said they could not do the size that I preferred. I noticed on the wall, among the many awards, that Chris had won an award for the best Small Black & Grey Tattoo (exactly what I wanted). When I spoke with Chris and showed him the artwork I wanted and told him the size, he said No Problem! So I made an appointment. In the meantime, he drew up the design that I showed him and was ready for me on the morning of my appointment. Everything went so smoothly and the final tattoo looks incredible! I can't say enough about Chris and his great shop. The atmosphere there is the coolest in town. They obviously take sanitation very seriously, but the place is not like a medical facility. The bottom line is if you want a custom tattoo, excellent customer service, one of a kind creative design, reasonable prices, and an artist / shop you can create a lasting relationship with... look no further than Kustom Thrills and Adam "The Kid". I am your general tattoo consumer and by no means an expert at any of this. With that said, I've learned a little bit over the past couple of decades having art permanently placed into my skin. My first review and our first experience was with my wife at Kustom Thrills, and that was nothing short of awesome. This time I went under the gun with Adam and I was blown away yet again by the detail he places into each one of his pieces. Kustom Thrills is a tattoo parlor in East Nashville. In case you are reading this dad, no I don't have a tattoo, but I have been to Kustom Thrills. It is a little tattoo parlor that has a lot of character and is the type of tattoo place that would expect to see in Nashville. I went with a friend who was getting a tattoo and had a pretty good time. It is crazy seeing people actually getting tattooed. It really looks painful! Even though I did not get a tattoo, I left Kustom Thrills with a really cool tee-shirt that bears the company logo. read more

Some of my friends get tattooed here so when I came into town for a visit I stopped here to get a new addition to the small collection I have started. The artist, Chris, set me up with a horse shoe and a banner that says, "Lucky Me", which may sound dumb to any of you, but it's there for a reason! My appendix burst the summer of '07 and I was hospitalized for a week after being 12 hours from death, according to my surgeon. After my appendix was removed that fall, some tumors were found in time before they became something much more serious. Lucky Me! Anyway, Chris was a really nice guy and was very polite about curtaining off his space since this little number went on my behind! read more

In Nashville for vacation and New Year's Eve, I emailed the art we wanted the few days before. Reply came quickly and they worked with us to perfect the tattoos and our appts. Matthew was amazing in understanding it was our first tattoo and we were Mom and Son wanting to have a great experience together. He made great suggestion and the whole process was so easy and fun. Had an initial issue with customer service and then was contacted directly by the owner to rectify. Haven't received the actual tattoo yet but I am very encouraged by the ownerships response. I got the tattoo yesterday and am beyond thrilled. Chris Saint Clark is an awesome guy with a compelling story who is also an extremely talented artist. An absolutely great experience. I had been looking to get a tattoo for a long time, and finally decided to act on it. I spent a long time searching for tattoo spots in Nashville, and finally settled on this one, as it seemed to cater to the style of tattoo I was interested in. The first thing I did was send in a tattoo request. I had the idea of the tattoo, but am not artistically inclined in any way, so I did not select any artist preference. After a few days (as promised on the site) I received a call from Brandon Henderson. He had seen my request and was interested in taking on the project. Brandon and I discussed the tattoo for a good amount of time until we were both happy with the design, at which point I made the appointment. When I went to finally get the tattoo, the shop could not have been a more amazing place. A clean, bright, and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone there was friendly and it was a pleasant experience. I met with Brandon and he started working on the tattoo. This was my first tattoo, so I was slightly anxious, but Brandon did such a great job and seemed so professional that I wasn't worried at all. I still have to make a second appointment to finish the coloring of the tattoo, but so far it is looking absolutely great! I will update when the tattoo is complete. Pricing was also incredibly fair.
