I liked the American Latino type of music. I absolutely love Jazz especially saxophone sexy Jazz. Now, I am bored too easily.

Maybe I miss Steve but I've been listening to Slacker and Steve...and now just Slacker for over 15…read moreyears. I used to think they were funny but day to day, things got more and more emotional and personal so the joking kind of felt more like hazing and shaming others. Clearly, none of them should be giving advice about relationships and parenting...or life in general. I recall hearing Slacker say how much work it takes to put the show together which is why they have to have 4 people on the show. Seriously? I listen to other shows that have two or three and don't tend to flounder through segments, get off topic and pretty much spiral out of control over controversial rankings of Lions...yes...lions folks...way to go Tony from Frosted Flakes. So, I could pick away at all of the segments they do throughout the short time they do it in because here's what I have stumbled upon in the past couple of years that many others probably know as well...the repeats. From 3pm until 5:30 ish, it's all live. Then, for the next hour and a half, we get to listen to it all again. I'm sure the premise is so people that were not off work yet can enjoy what was missed but they don't get the chance to call in. Why would they attempt to report on any kind of news? Unless something brand new had happened when the show starts, everything else has been blurted out by tv and radio all morning long leaving topics of "news" to be scarce and not note worthy. Though I appreciate some of the jokes and banter between the folks, they are not a far cry from the morning morons and their level of intelligence.

Hey Ya, Jack! In…read morethese days of Clear Channel dominance, I love that you Go Your Own Way. I Just Can't Get Enough of your Shameless cheese! Where other radio stations are tied to heavy-rotation playlists, you just let the Good Times Roll, playing whatever strikes your fancy. From Silly Love Songs to Rock n' Roll All Night, you play it all. How Bizarre! From the day I first noticed the giant billboard touting your arrival on the Denver radio scene, you had a spot on my car's presets. I Saw The Sign (and it opened up my eyes), and now We're Jammin'. Jack, I'll Be There For You... these five words I swear to you. Sure, you'll never be accused of Livin' On The Edge, or bringing the Brand New Funk. But hey, it's Hip To Be Square! And that's All Right Now. Your lack of annoying DJs just makes you that much more of an Obsession. I can always count on you to make me Feel Good, Inc. Jack, you keep me Forever Young! I love that, whatever you play, I can Rock With You. Whether its a Rebel Yell, or just a Careless Whisper, you'll always keep me Rockin' Into The Night. So Play That Funky Music, white boy. You've got All My Love. Love Is All You Need, kym b.

A shining light in the darkness that is corporate radio…read more My life wouldn't be as complete without Radio 1190. Seriously. Music is one of my biggest passions, and Radio 1190 consistently gives me soul food for my ears. Where else can you hear Cut Copy, Hank Williams Sr., Atmosphere and Sharon Jones, all in one set? They truly cover the entire spectrum of music, and their only limitation is that they won't play music that you can hear on mainstream radio. Their specialty shows kick major ass. I especially like Route 78 West (honkey tonk and trucker music), Beats from the East (contemporary Indian and Bollywood music), and the Local Shakedown (local music, duh!). They sponsor local music events, showcase up and coming bands, and give a ton to the Denver/Boulder music community. Sure, the DJs can be pretty sloppy and amateurish, but that's part of their charm as they're not pros, just music lovers. And yes, they're an AM station that broadcasts in mono (listen online for the full stereo experience), and yes, they have to power down when the sun goes down, but that just makes you appreciate it more. You never know what you're going to hear. You might love the current song and hate the next, but you'll never get bored, that's for sure. Viva the AM revolution! Cheers!

Best music station in Denver/Boulder. Period…read more I cringe at the horrible radio selections available in the metro area. That's why Radio 1190, and all the publicly funded radio stations, are my bastion. These are the only places you will hear new, unique and original music. If you wanna listen to Lady Gaga all day, this probably isn't the place for you. I especially love the wide variety of shows. From hip-hop, dance, reggae, LOTS of indie, funk, folk/bluegrass, metal/goth/industiral, jazz, creole, many local artists . . . they're bound to have something you'll like. Save yourself from Clear Channel and move towards the light. There is a brighter side to Denver/Boulder radio.
