Place is clean and service is good. Cristy PATA and kare kare are great. But halo Halo is so so. Mostly ice, lacks ingredients and milk.

We got to the restaurant when it first opened for lunch. It did fill up the small restaurant once we sat down. Everything was good. Some were a little salty like their diniguan. The pictures on their menu seem deceiving as some of the dishes did not look like what we received. I liked their Laing, lengua, crab paste with rice, veggies with tuyo, etc. I did not like their calamansi drink or fresh buko drink. The buko seemed to be opened already so the outside turn brown. Their desserts like mango and cream pie was very good with fresh mangoes on top but was missing the ingredients in the middle like in the menu image. Their halo-halo was good and big with lots of ingredients. If I am in the area, and can afford the calories, I would still come back! Yumm! [65/100]

Browsing the menu, you can get a feel that it has been well though of They have a good selection of vegetables and meat dishes. They all looked so good that it was hard to settle with just a few. We started out with some appetizers in the fashion of Filipino street food with the gambas+longanisa and satay sampler. But even prior to that, we were given bread with pate while waiting for our orders. We couldn't decide on what to order so we got both the chicken and chorizo rice and garlic aligue rice with chicharron. We matched these with the grilled beef belly and ox tail and trip kare kare. As if these were not enough, we also sampled the paksiw na boneless bangus belly with roasted coconut. Unlike the traditional paksiw with the more prominent sour taste of the vinegar, I liked this better because the coconut added some sweetness to it. Because we loved it so much and we didn't get to taste the pork belly, we came back for a second time. We again had the same set of rice, but this time we made sure we had the roast pork belly with tamarind rub. we were not able to try it the first time as we were too early. Apparently it takes a lot of time to prepare and does not get available until after noon. We also had the laing con alamang fresco. I like laing and this, I love. It can be on the expensive side. But the portions are adequate. This is now a favorite spot for me and the hubby

I was surprised at how pricey their food was given the interiors of the resto was really simple - like an airconditioned carinderia. This was because their food portions were big. I got the seafood in a regular plate. It came with shrimp, squid, tanigue and alimasag. The sauce was too rich and thick I lost interest in the dish after a few bites. The alimasag had no meat in it at all. Would have been better if they replaced it with more shrimp or squid. I didnt eat the complimentary soup because it used meat stock. My friends liked their sisig and chicaron bulaklak. Overall I wasn't impressed. If you are a meat eater you might love their food.

Aside from that, they have a strip of establishments housing restaurants and retail outlet stores. During one of our visits, we decided to have dinner at Seafood Island. PROS: The boodle fight mode of serving your food is always fun, especially if you eat with your hands. You can pretend you're on a beach outing. CONS: The servings of rice are fine, but the word that I could think of when it comes to their viand is "sporadic." Like it's so little, that they look sad and splotchy. If you thought that the amount of rice is a redeeming factor, it isn't because it doesn't taste good as well. It's like old rice fried again and again that it feels like pebbles in your mouth - hard and dry. Their grilled meat is rubbery and burnt at the sides. And the salads look pitiful. I don't want to think that just because it's a provincial branch means that they have less food quality, but Seafood Island just gave us that impression. One of my friends who ate with us tried the one in Techno Hub and he said that this is not how the food is supposed to be. TL;DR: There are way better options of dining out in Nuvali than this place. The only reason you'd eat here is if you're *that* into boodle fights no matter the food quality.

BEST DESSERTS!!!…read more It's been 4 months since we last visited the Philippines and El Hubby and I are still talking about Conti's HALO-HALO and MANGO BRAVA CAKE. Their halo-halo was classic with the ube ice cream and flan on top and had enough beans and jelly on the bottom. It's crunchy, cold and so delicious. The Mango Brava Cake was memorable. It's a frozen cake with layers of cashew meringue wafers, chocolate mousse, cream and real mango chunks. It's sooo good! Besides dessert, they also serve Filipino, American and Italian food. I had LENGUA ESTOFADO and El Hubby had MUSSELS and MUSHROOM PASTA and they were all delish. Keep in mind that their portions are on the smaller side but you will still leave satisfied. I was let down by the poor service we received during our time here at Bag of Beans. We ordered refillable Houseblend coffee and Kapeng Barako, but we were not able to really maximize the bottomless option. The servers were not as visible during our stay there, and we constantly had to call for one's attention. The servers can also be better trained to roam more frequently and be available for assistance. Another issue and big dissapointment I had was the Cold Brew Lemon & Mint they have in their menu. I don't think I will be alone to assume that this beverage will also be locally brewed and prepared like their coffee, but unfortunately that was not the case. The cold brew order turned out to be just a glass of cold water with a tea bag sachet branded Ahmad Tea London. To top it all off, the cold water mug they served has an ant in it. I had to request for a new mug, but the replacement mug of cold water also took too long to arrive. It was at least good enough that they have a good overlooking view going for them to soften the blow of bad service we experienced during our time.

I've come back from afar and wanted to dine again, on their bulalo and voila, the crowds descended like hungry wolves which made my trip, more interesting and exciting. The mist from an unstoppable showers was complicit in creating an avant garde of magical beauty as we sat down and ordered our culinary delights. The huge one sized bulalo was to die for, bone marrow was salivating, meat was super tender and the soup reminds me of honey in some sense. Their dinakdakan was sliced and presented in its usual sense, aromatic with the spices and pork fat that to me, defines what truly was an epicurean Filipino classic dish. Their "grilled squid" was sliced perfectly and tasted like no other, chewy but tasty, squiddy but came with a combination of spices that reminds me of the sea. The tilapia was mainstream, grilled perfectly but and with fresly cut tomatoes and onions which enriched the usual restaurant menu. I can go on and on but the beauty of Tagaytay was in its View To A Kill, mist laden but as the sun came to slowly diminish the fog, a paradise of sorts appeared from the front of the restaurant like a gods was of Athena on a bright morning day. So, if you're in the Philippines, head to Leslie's Restaurant in Tagaytay and mix in with the crowd who come from all over towns and countries to enhance their culinary experiences in a nation of maikling and happy people. Oh one more observation, the servers were great, smiling as always, kind and knowledgeable about the dishes they serve... TGIS was an important part of the experience, too. FOOD We availed Package 2 that was good for at least ten hungry customers, and all three parts of our long table were covered. We only added Sisig in a Pouch as extra. Sisig in a Pouch and Tinapa Roll Wrapped in Lettuce were excellent with a crunchy wrapper packing pleasingly flavorful experiences. Boneless Pata Special didn't feel that special because the skin wasn't that crunchy, but it did taste good. Crispy Boneless Tilapia was cut up nicely, leaving fish chunks ready for dipping into 4 sauces, while the rest of the fish was for display. Kare Kare Beef and Tripe were tender and terrific with bagoong (shrimp paste). Laing 2 Ways was excellent though I only tried it "1 Way." Pinatayong Manok was just okay but my companions said it tasted like honey chicken. Swahe on the Rocks were small but fresh. Since Kare Kare and Sisig in a Pouch already had bagoong, I didn't eat that much Bagoong Rice anymore. We spotted something mysterious in the Kare Kare but we gave it to one of the servers and he said he'll let the others know. I hope they found out what it was and how it got there in the first place. SERVICE I enjoyed watching our servers prep the Pinatayong Manok and Swahe on the Rocks on the side of our table; made the food more appetizing.
