This is actually my third time to eat here. The first two were with friends and this last trip, I brought my family with me. The food reminds you of your mom's home cooked meals. As usual, I ordered the crispy okoy for appetizer and then their signature Laoya, baby squid in olive oil, tinapa rice, lumpiang sariwa and their citrus cucumber cooler for drinks. I was supposed to order the lemongrass pandan juice but it was out of stock. We also had their leche flan to sweeten the deal. All in all, you get good value for your money, the food tastes great and the ambiance is perfect just a few minutes away from the metro moreso because of the newly opened CALAX. Highly recommended. I would definitely be back with my family. Lovely experience indeed!

There was this okoy which was yummy and I crushed it and added it to the ensaladang amapalaya and doused with vinegar.

I like the ambiance of the place and the simple no muss, no fuss interior. Specially because you're in Tagaytay, at the end of the night after you go around the area you'd want to dine somewhere relaxing and stay at a place that feels like home before you go back to your hotel room or before you go back to the city. The last time I was here it was about an hour before closing time so there were only a few patrons left and I know that in other restaurants the staff would most likely be impatient or it'd be noticeable that they have somewhere to be which is of course understandable but in their case, you couldn't see a hint of it on their faces or actions. Though we didn't take long and got out before closing. I would recommend you try their: Laing (I love laing, I'd order it anywhere) and Pork Binagoongan. They have quite a number of items on the menu, I'm sure you'd be able to find what you're craving for there and that they'd satisfy that craving with really good food. How's your dining experience at Antonio's?

I hope God has forgiven us for indulging at The Grill by Antonio's last Holy Week. I'm not sure if…read moreit was on a Maundy Thursday or Good Friday when our aimless driving (we were actually looking for malls that were open as we were already getting bored at home) led us to this favorite resto in Tagaytay. To be fair, we did, for the most part, stick to the no red meat rule. We dined on Pusit, Sinigang na Bangus, Ensaladang Mangga, and Spicy Ginisang Hipon. Unfortunately, my brother just had to have Pork Barbecue that day, so #FAIL. Holy Week at The Grill is a crowded affair. In fact, we had to wait in line before we were seated. We had to wait some more for our food to be served, but the taste of their home-cooked Filipino meals were more than enough to make up for it.

The grilled squid is perfect and the beef bulalo was so tender while the meat holds tight to the bone. But when you take a bite, it comes clean from the bone, which is a good thing but I didn't expect that, tbh. And I was happy. Thank you @dinersbulaloofficial for a well-deserved lunch. A 2 to all the chefs behind this perfection. This place is great! Al-fresco wise, the atmosphere is chill and cool and the staffs were friendly. Do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant in Tagaytay. My uncle took us on a road trip to Tagaytay City and along the way we saw a bunch of restaurants…read morethat offer "bulalo". Bulalo is a traditional Filipino beef shank soup that is popular in this part of the country. I personally chose Diner's Bulalo because they claim to have the best soup in Tagaytay and their dining area offers guests a view of the Taal Volcano (famed as the smallest active volcano in the world). Plus dining at a restaurant overlooking an active volcano has been a pattern for me ever since I was introduced to an Indonesian buffet in Bali that overlooked Mt. Batur. I wanted to have the same experience in The Philippines. Anyway, service here was great! The restaurant got packed fast with locals and foreign tourists so we were lucky enough to get seats with the view! WE ORDERED -------------------- - Beef Bulalo - Their specialty is a must! The beef was tender and they also offer free broth refills. Perfect soup during our windy day adventure in Tagaytay! For dipping I prefer fish sauce with calamansi and a bit of chili for a kick! - Crispy Pata - Crunchy, but not a big fan because some parts were lightly burnt. - Fried Chicken - light batter, but still crunchy and good. - Grilled Stuffed Squid - Simple squid dish stuffed with onions, tomatoes, and herbs. It's marinated with light soy sauce and it's usually dipped in spicy soy sauce with calamansi. Overall, the bulalo did not disappoint! This is a perfect restaurant for out of towners!
