The station broadcasts news for the Amador and Calaveras County residents. Whenever there are fires in the area, residents tune in to listen to the updates for evacuation warnings and the like. Since one of my favorite radio stations went off the air, I was in search of a replacement. I happened upon this station playing some of the old 80's classics. An era I fondly remember. They advertise "lite rock & less talk" which aptly expresses their musical selections. My fickle push button finger has been migrating to this station frequently to hear what might be playing. And I have found that I've enjoyed listening from time to time. I think they play great back ground music that would be suitable for some businesses. It has now become one of my chosen stations for us old folks who are still young at heart!

It's brand new so not yet on the radio dial but you can stream it from anywhere, and I suggest you do ASAP. This is real community radio, SO rare these days and if you live in Amador or Calaveras County you can participate and sometimes they have interviews with local musicians but the music they play is the BOMB whether blues, gospel, blue grass, reggae, flamenco.... they play GREAT music from all over the world (ok, I admit I can skip the progressive jazz and fervently hope they'll forever avoid the new electronic garbage), but for now, I am loving it, especially since the commercial stations are SO obnoxiously repetitive and limited these days. They ignored us after telling us they would do certain things. We reached out to them again this year. Never spoke to a singlet person. We reached out with emails and voicemails but never heard back from a single person. Even if they didn't want us to advertise with them, at minimum an email would've been nice. So, we reached out to Radio Merced. What a great company! Super friendly people there and they treated us great! Our advertising dollars will now always be with Damian Galarza and Radio Merced!
