My last three appointments were rescheduled (in the fall, I was generously offered a fireplace service date six weeks later than originally booked), and today (July 8, 2025) - surprise! - no one showed up at all. Not a word of explanation, no apology, just radio silence. It's heartwarming that they thank me for being a "loyal customer" in their automated emails and text confirmations - unfortunately, all that loyalty has bought me is mounting frustration and lost work hours (I need to take at least four hours off every time they don't show up - which is often). I requested immediately stop charging my Visa for monthly fees and refund the prepaid amount for the upcoming fireplace service - which, statistically speaking, would've likely been cancelled anyway.

The parts replaced in January 2018 needed to be replaced in November 2018 for the same reason It worked less than 4 months with summer in between. HOGG denied warranty with all kind of excuses with maintenance or tune-up which were not proposed or mentioned in the work order by the technician in January 2018.

We called ClimateCare and got a quote for installation and 10 years maintenance (Parts & labour) that was cheaper than sticking with Reliance. And we asked for fall checkup on the furnace while they are on site. They threw that in for free. The installers were quick and efficient without any little extra charges for replacing the gas shutoff, etc. During the furnace checkup, they discovered that our thermostat no longer worked on the heat setting so it got swapped out free of charge.
