My experience with Oosterveld was very, very disappointing. Called in to check the AC not turning…read moreon issue. The technician came, spent 3 hours, and said he was unable to find the issue. And also mentioned that "Looks like the problem is in the furnace, which required another technician to come and check." They charged me $ 204 for the great find. In 3 days' time, another expert technician came, spent a few hours, and diagnosed the thermostat as the problem. He doesn't have the common sense to check with another thermostat, or maybe it's possible to bypass it to see if the AC works. He also left and sent me a report that the furnace and the unit are not in good shape. I got a quote to change the basic $80 thermostat for $ 680, and after that, they will continue troubleshooting the problem if the AC doesn't work. I was very suspicious of this and had another company check the issue. They found the issue in 15 minutes and fixed the AC within 1 hour. The outside AC unit wire was cut by a mouse. Oosterveld either failed to do the basic check or tried to steal the money. Not recommend these people for any reason.

The store was recommended by a friend in Toronto whose family lives in Guelph. I phoned Shuh's and spoke to Jeffrey Maclean, who arranged to have a repairman go to my friend's home in Guelph to fix his dryer. Jeffrey was totally professional. He took down all the info and told me a repairman would drop by between 9 a.m. and noon. Sure enough the repairman showed up exactly as arranged. He did a great job and fixed the dryer on the spot. The price was VERY reasonable. I highly recommend Shuh's appliance repair service. It is reliable, fairly priced, friendly and professional. I would also consider purchasing appliances from Shuh's too if I ever need any.
