Heading back to Cleveland from Racine the Costco in Pleasant Prairie seemed to be the best option. Located near to the Wisconsin and Illinois border it was a great place to fill the gas tank in the cheaper Wisconsin prices. I was especially happy to see that the gas prices here were significantly lower then any other Costco or other gas station on this trip. Of course Costco stores are similar, although it was fun to see what specific items differ. Here I was happy to see that they could sell alcohol and that the prices were very reasonable. They also were selling and sampling Kringle which is a wonderful pastry circle. Located not too far from the highway this Costco ended up being a great stop on this road trip.

But the bright side is that they have everything in stock and their check out lines were quick and efficient. With the wait of the line for check out we had one person wait while the other got a snack, and it took just as long for that that by the time I got through the check out line I was waiting for my husband with food. I will stay the staff is incredibly friendly and I feel comfortable asking for where things are since things are always moving without feeling like I'm ruining someone's mojo. All in all a great Costco! Just super long lines but they handle it like champs!

While waiting, the owners approached me in an abrupt and unprofessional manner and insisted that I leave immediately if we were not pumping gas. I was taken aback, as I have never encountered this situation before, especially given the lack of available parking. The interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and poorly handled. A courteous explanation or alternative suggestion would have been far more appropriate. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression, and I would hesitate to return or recommend this establishment based on the way the situation was handled.

The gas pump area is super clean and maintained well. Inside is orderly too. I needed to get gas and remembered they offer the famous HoHo cakes. So, after filling up, I ran inside to get the sweet treat for my sister. The Mama P's selection was plentiful but not very diverse. They were all chocolate based except for the animal cracker. It was so cute with pink cake and a pink animal cracker on top. I also chose the chocolate and peanut butter. I wish they had more non-chocolate options such as lemon etc. They were delicious just the same. Once you check in on Yelp, you receive an offer for a free bottle of water. The young girl at the desk was very confused and went to get another person for help. That girl looked at my phone and said, "we don't do that". When I said I think they do she agreed. I stop by in the morning for coffee - they have it brewed fresh each morning with really great options- even my favorite iced coffee! They are great about getting new items in and keeping things up to date. You will always be welcomed by smiling faces and they are always willing to help if you can't find something. I see police officers here a lot (it's near the police station) and I always feel safe if I have to come by late at night. BONUS: they have KRINGLE! And the deliver groceries if you need it. AMAZING.
