As great as the maze was the, the younger kids had more fun on the in ground trampoline, petting zoo, sitting on the tractors for pictures, the really cool rustic playground, ect. The kids will not run out of things to do. You can purchase simple lunches like hotdogs and burgers but they have outdoor grills so you can bring you own food. The people around us were roasting smores. The vibe was so upbeat and easy going. It is worth a drive from the tourist areas. There is everything down home and nothing commercial, as grand as it is. For $11. each, the kids can do anything they want, as long as they want and pick their own pumpkin. Getting close to Halloween, the pumpkins were a little picked over. But, this place is awesome. No price gouging. It is about 15 minutes from the heart of Pigeon Forge where Magic Quest is. All the animals are very docile and can easily eat from your hand. A lot of them are big cuddle babies according to the staff.The feed bucket is a good size to feed all the animals. The staff is good at rotating the animals so you get a chance to feed them all They also have a walk in area to see animals, a highland cow session you can book, a zip line and a self controlled mountain coaster. If you're prone to motion sickness, I would strongly recommend skipping this one. I had to keep my eyes closed for much of the ride, and afterward I ended up getting sick. The storyline itself was cute and well done. Just be aware that it's based on a Christian/Biblical theme, so whether you enjoy it may depend on your interests and beliefs.

We…read moreloved how the Dogwood staff had several booths set up on the property with garden maps, brochures, merch and even a guest book to sign. As for the gardens, they were magnificent. The owner, Dr. Alan Solomon, has spent over 45 years creating his own masterpiece. His efforts landed Gatop in the Smithsonian Institute's Archives of American Gardens. We loved how the gardens were complimented by stainless steel, bronze and stone sculptures. I especially liked the cute frog sculptures found throughout the property and the Great Blue Heron sculpture gracing the marble pond. Definitely recommend wearing sturdy shoes for your trip here and bringing a water bottle with you to stay hydrated. There are beautiful iron rails (crafted by master blacksmith, John Medwedeff) which I found helpful to hang on to at times for support. Last admission is an hour before closing, which is 4pm. Go to Gatop for your source of serenity and spiritual renewal!

This new attraction is a must see if you visit Dollywood. The Dolly Parton Experience is a museum…read morethat falls just short of a shrine to Dolly Parton. This attraction sits in multiple buildings and, if done right, can be a nice respite from the heat and crowds. The one building, Songteller, is a museum that takes you through the life of Dolly and her journey from Tennessee to the world stage. You'll see artifacts and from her career on display. You'll see the items that inspired her for songs, bits from her appearances on television, and her roles on the big screen. The next building that you should visit is the one named Behind The Seams. Here, you will see the wardrobe that Dolly made her mark on style with. You'll see gowns, shoes, and wigs that Ms. Parton, as an icon, wore. This is a rotating exhibit area as there will be many items that you will be able to see over time. The final building is Precious Memories. A theater that performances take place in. I did not view this area, so I cannot speak on this. Along with the buildings there are two other spots to hit up before exiting the area. Dolly's Fan Shop is a great place to pick up souvenirs to take with you. The last being Dolly's Home-On-Wheels, Dolly's tour bus that you can view if you have the patience to wait in line. If you are wore out with all the walking, waiting in line, and rides, come here. It will give you a place to escape the roar outside and see some history.

The textiles room is well-equipped, with all the equipment and supplies I could think to need and more! Megan is great! She brings her personal experience with natural dyeing and piecing, and a boatload of patience for our many, many questions. She also adapts her lesson plans to the interests of the group, and the strengths and weaknesses of the students in the group. I'm really pleased that Arrowmont had these community classes for those of us who can neither afford the time nor the prices for the national classes. Thank you, Arrowmont!
