When door first opened for the pixel room our eyes were filled with awe and excitement. The whole room was filled with interactive pixel panel and it even spread onto the wall. I would say just by this room itself already justified the pricing for the whole thing. It would be amazing if there was an option to just enjoy the pixel room since you do require a ton of stamina for playing the lava game here. Overall, an amazing experience coming here. The staff was super friendly and informative on each room's game rules, the decoration are very creative and funny, and each room have their own charm and entertainment. Wasn't expecting quite the workout from immersive gaming, but there we were! Ricky had the air conditioning cranking for us and it was very much appreciated! The first room has 3 different games, which we tried each one. The second room is a laser maze which changes at each level. That was interesting! Wasn't expecting to have to army crawl across the room! The last room is a "floor is lava" challenge and that was exhausting! There was one that was set up as pacers and I thought we were gonna die! There's no food, drinks, or flash photography allowed (which makes sense). To be honest, I was a little surprised by how small the Infinity Room actually is. It's just a tiny platform you stand on surrounded by mirrors so be careful not to get too close to the edges. I think the photos online made it seem much bigger and more "galaxy-like," so I had different expectations going in You're only inside for about five minutes before it's time to exit for the next group. Still, it was a cool experience to check off the list and afterward we walked around The Broad, which made it a fun afternoon overall. We snagged a loveseat, which was super comfy for cuddling up, and the wireless headphones gave us crystal-clear sound without any outside noise interrupting the classic lines and soundtrack. The vibe on the rooftop is relaxed but lively--great drinks and snacks to enjoy before the film starts. Pretty Woman felt even more special in this open-air setting; we were both smiling and quoting lines the whole time. My girlfriend absolutely loved it, and so did I. Getting to the theater can be a little confusing, but they do send you instructions before your visit. BE AWARE their email says parking is right across the valet for about $10-$12. Since it was dark, I mistakenly parked at the lot next to the $10 one, and that one was $20 (ouch). Don't make that mistake. When you walk through the valet, there is someone there to tell you where to wait. The doors open about a half hour before your showing. We were a little confused because we weren't sure if someone was going to come down and get us. There was a resident that scanned us up the elevator, and there were plenty of spots to lounge outside of the cinema area. We sat in front of the concession stands, and the valet from downstairs had come up and ask us and the other two couples waiting to move to the seating area closest to the elevators. It wasn't a big deal but I thought it was weird that we had to do that. Our tickets were for the loveseat, which comes with one popcorn per person. We watched LaLa Land (in LaLa Land), which was nice because there's also a view of the buildings in downtown. Seat was comfy, but I wish there were either cup holders on the chairs or perhaps a small table in between seats for your food & drinks. I HIGHLY recommend bringing a blanket. There are other reviews that mention they have heaters, however, this was not the case during our visit. I'm thinking they probably have them for the winter, but there were no heaters present during our visit. It gets rather cold, but it feels okay if you bring a sweater and a small blanket. I loved the concept of the headphones for the movie. They were excellent quality and had great sound. You can adjust it based on your liking. Also, all the seats have a great view of the screen. It's a pricey date, but it's worth it if you're looking for something different.

We came specifically for Yoko Ono's exhibit and really enjoyed it. I love how interactive her work is. Art is so much about intention and narrative, and you can feel her lifelong dedication to peace and thoughtful reflection on society throughout the exhibit. The Broad's permanent collection is excellent, and the space itself is open, airy, and very cool. General admission is free (you have to sign up for time slot entrance), but we paid $21 per person for the Yoko Ono exhibit. Once you're in for the special exhibit, you also have access to the museum's general collection on the third floor. Overall, it's a fantastic museum and well worth a visit, whether you're coming for a special exhibition or just to enjoy the Broad's impressive collection.

The artwork that I remember from the BCAM is now here, along with other pieces from the vast Broad collection. You can book free tickets online ahead of time, though there is an additional charge for special exhibits, like the current Yoko Ono one. There are free Thursdays which give you entry to the special exhibits gratis, but you must book those tickets ahead of time. The staff are very friendly and handle the lines professionally. The architecture of the building is very interesting, with a dramatic escalator entry to the second floor to see the collection. You can see artwork from Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Ed Ruscha, Kara Walker and so much more. We rode the Metro here and were able to avoid the expensive parking. Bonus!

I absolutely adore Unique Markets and make a point to come very time they're in town. For just $15 you can have access to incredible vendors, music, food, art and overall a wonderful group of people. Everyone is so kind and cool and makes you feel at home. Each year the founder and her team (yes HER) work to curate a wide variety of vendors with something for everyone. If you're shopping for a fathers day present or something for yourself you'll find all that and more. I cannot recommend coming enough. They have shows in Portland, DC, Phoenix and LA. About 100 booths of "shop small" businesses, largely handmade stuff including jewelry, soaps, clothing, cards and gifts, tarot, and food. The booths are run by the artists/sellers themselves which is a great way to connect with these super talented entrepreneurs. Hard to make the rounds without picking up a few items and supporting local artists at the same time, most of whom work out of their apartments. There are some foodie freebie samples and a freebie photo booth too. Meters all around downtown but as of this writing (5/23), self-parking in the building was a flat $8. I ended up with a giant chicken named Bella along with cards, stickers and iron-on patches. Yelpers, you will run into people you know, so the 'no sweatpants' rule applies. See you there.
