The French onion soup did not have that typical rich flavoring of a full bodied broth with that bit of a wine touch to the onions. The cheese was minimal and not Gruyère which usually lends the perfect flavor. The soup itself tasted- as strange as it sounds- like pizza. Not at all like a traditional French onion soup. The chicken cooked in butter was tasteless- it didn't feature any detectable seasoning or even a butter flavor which was odd, considering it was cooked on a pound of butter. It also was slightly dry. The steak frites was delicious- tasty and perfectly cooked.
