Scam? Went to a taste test and they were having lots of issues. The lights weren't working in the lab-- good thing I fed the meter plenty, just in case, because we were delayed. When it was time to be paid it turned out they hadn't received their cash. Eventually they started writing checks, then ran out of checks. I felt for them and didn't really mind at this point, just seemed like they were having a Murphy's law kind of day. The rest of us submitted our addresses, and we were promised that our checks would be delivered that same day. I was impressed that they were going to do that to make up for all the waiting, inconvenience, and uncertainty. That day came and went without payment. So did the next. When I called on the third day to check on my payment, I spoke with someone very snotty. She said the checks had been *mailed* the *next* day, and would probably arrive next week. I said we were promised same-day payment. She was very rude and sneered "how exactly would that work?" I said I had assumed they would send a courier. Maybe they shouldn't promise something that they can't deliver? And there's definitely no call to be rude. Still waiting... read more

This was a great experience all the way around. I received an email listing a "Restaurants" study. I filled out the entire survey and was contacted the following week to participate. The contact was by phone and asked me many of the same questions - a screening process that ensures you answer the questions the same way both times. I am sure many people fill out these forms the way they "think" they should be filled out in order to get into the study. This process of asking the questions a second time, though tedious to some, is a way to make sure the participants are the type of people needed for the survey. Directions to the place were thorough, and they even listed places to park in the area. This was very helpful, though I ended up parking in an alternative lot I was already familiar with. I arrived early, so was entered to win the bonus $25, which I WON. I could not believe it, as I am usually not that lucky. Anyway, the focus group was fun to participate in. I was most impressed with the smooth process. The money was handed out in the envelopes right after the conclusion, and we were even encouraged to count it. The staff was friendly. I had them change my name too, and they were very nice about it. I typically apply to such things with my first name, though I go by my middle name. Also, they provided snacks on site - sandwiches from Jimmy Johns and chips, crackers, candy. I can't wait to participate in more of these and encourage others to do the same. read more

I've participated in a few focus groups over the years, and this is by far my favorite company to do so at. They have a great variety and I was able to attend a food tasting study here. It was interesting and fun (and they also pay very well for their studies). The staff here are laid back but professional as well . If you qualify, you can do a study here about once every six months. The urban building it's housed in is really cool as well. Love the exposed brick. Easy way to make some extra cash. The studies are pretty short and I've been paid $40-$90 for an hour of my time and my opinion. Parking can be difficult but they offer $5 additional dollars for parking and also have a $25 raffle if you arrive early. I am on their email list so I receive relevant survey opportunities based on the demographics I've provided. Once you fill out their initial questionnaire you will receive a call if you are eligible. There is a little bit of back and forth between you and the recruiter to determine if you'll be a good match. I wish this process was a little more automated because I almost always miss their calls and have to call back - but aside from that the process is pretty seamless and you're in and out quickly. With all the scam survey and research sites out there, it's noce to one one that is straight-up honest! I joined about 6 months ago and get a fair number of invites in my email. A lot of them are on-site and out-of-state, but they have plenty of nationwide studies, too. It's nice that they publish the results of some studies so we know our opinions are really being used to improve products and services! read more

Today I was supposed to participate in a focus group about boxed wine. I arrived and filled out some paperwork. They told me that some of my answers were different from my original answers. What? ????? I originally submitted my answers on the internet and received a call asking me to participate. Why would you ask me the questions again and disqualify me? What a waste of my time!! What could I possibly complain about. They paid me to vent my opinion about social media. That's something I do for free with my friends all day, and I made over $100 to do it here. The building is nice and the people are too, but seriously, for the easy money, it could have been a double wide trailer and I'd still have been happy. I participated in a "paid" study with InGather in March. It took seven weeks to get paid. The communication was horrific, starting with them not even telling us we wouldn't be paid the day of the study. That was news to everyone in my group. We left unpaid, and after that the communication was very shoddy. They avoided answering questions about when we'd receive our checks exactly, then told us they were lost in the mail, and when all was said and done I got paid just shy of 7 weeks after the study. I've done lots of paid studies with Plaza Research and Fieldwork Denver and I've never not been paid immediately. This experience with InGather was really bad and I would not recommend accepting work with them. read more

This place is clearly a data mining operation posing under the disguise as a "focus group" company. They will collect your information, waste your time, and then casually say "Sorry, we're for people who more closely match our needs" Don't waste your time answering any of their emails for anything, unless you have 5-10 minutes to waste, uncompensated. I have forwarded, and refered 6 people thus far who have all answered multiple surveys, and not one has recieved a phone call screener - including myself. I've counted over 33 emails over the span of 2 years worth of surveys and "invitations for research studies" - each that I have diligently completed using my socio-demographic information that SHOULD be desireable - an graduate leveled college educated hispanic male between the 36-50k income level, where I have varying responses to consumer spending, eating habit, and experiences with electronics, and I have not once ever been considered for a study. So the conclusion is obvious, they are collecting survey information that they are getting paid to collect while not inviting these people into their surveys OR they're only picking several people and getting hundreds of responses back. Either way, go with field work Denver, where your odds are many times likely to land you an hour and a half of a paid discussion. I will never waste another 5 minutes with these people. read more
