From my initial phone call to Cathy & staff regarding daycare for our 4mo old golden retriever to our sort of last minute decision to board him for a night, EVERYTHING about BBK was smooth, easy and comfortable! Not to mention our little guy Griffin was absolutely loving life. They clearly are playing and having a blast as his GPS collar was showing lots of activity throughout his stay! We dropped off (early as well) and regardless of my apprehension they were friendly at 755am, greeted Griff and led him immediately out to play! Without shame, he had a bag packed with toys, towels, food, bowls, treats etc and upon pickup everything was there and in great shape! I think the quote was "hes got luggage" :) Leaving after the first 48 hours, Griff whimpered as he didnt want to leave- not knowing he was headed back the next day. The staff was friendly, knew him by the end and made us feel completely comfortable to enjoy our ski trip. WITHOUT hesitation we would recommend Cathy & Staff at Barker Brook and hope we can see them on our next trip to Sunday River!

Right along the strip going…read moreinto Sunday River, Barker Brook is located conveniently for skiers and snowboarders, who are also pet owners, to drop off their furry companion for a day of daycare or overnight boarding. I planned on staying at Sunday River for 2 nights, so Barker Brook was perfect for my golden retriever puppy to stay for a night and have daycare the other days. Daycare is only $20 a day and overnight is $60, which I considered to be pretty reasonable given the location of the kennel. Each day, my dog was tired out and did not want to leave! He absolutely loved spending his time at Barker Brook, and the staff were also incredibly friendly. Drop off and pick up were incredibly easy and seamless. My only one critique is that they only start taking pets at 8am in the morning for drop off. 8am is also the time that chair lifts start at Sunday River, so selfishly, I would love if Barker Brook could open at 7/7:30 to make it for the start of chair lifts. Minor critique, but the friendliness of the staff and the physical activity that was provided for my dog are enough to push my rating to a full 5 star review! I highly recommend to others.

When you hold her to task she refunded money because she misrepresented the dog she then turned into a crazy person. Oddly there was no waitlist. SHE illegally transferred ownership of him through the microchip before he was in her possession. The day of return she was very aggressive with the dog, pulling him kicking him with her rubber farmer's boots to keep him from jumping up on her, not enough to make him yelp, but it was enough to make us awkwardly uncomfortable. My husband was jumping out of his skin so much so he offered to take the dog. She wouldn't let us touch him. She treated the dog and us so badly, barking out her commands, making us feel terrible. It worked - she is very vindictive. She sent unprovoked videos and pictures of him once he was returned. The same evening, the following day. My heart. She pulled at our heart strings using 1 of our grandson's and the rest of the family. We did miss him, our family missed him - she offered him back to us on more than one occasion and when we felt heartbroken enough we took her up on her offers and tried to get him back thru communications- she put us through hell and actually stated that we wouldn't have the health guarantee on the puppy any longer, crazy right. She wouldn't let us go get him and bring him back. I have never seen someone act this way and actually take pleasure in a really lousy situation. One she caused. We have never been treated so disrespectful and have never come across someone so unprofessional. Angelica does not like to put things in writing. I had her commitment - we wanted a mini, we bought a mini, he was not a mini. She insisted my vet was wrong still saying he was going to be 23 lbs. The only reason why she refunded the "purchase price" of dog, it was determined very early on that he was not a mini and it was in writing . We took great care of him and lost $1200 in vet cost alone. That doesn't count all the personal items. My husband is 70 years old has two fractures in his back and I've had two back surgeries. She knew this. We lost our 5 pound Yorkie two days before Christmas. So 25 lbs give or take was okay with us. He was just about that at 4.5 months. Please don't buy any responses to this review. I know her husband responded to one review and said it was slander, but he never said as much as a sentence to us. I wish I could post all the chain of events. All the positive reviews is the same language I have heard from her as well. I am on social media look me up Linda Rios 25 years breeding, no excuses. Where are all the + reviews. If she was honest from the beginning we wouldn't be where we are today. We ate crow and still gave her the chance to do the right thing. She would've made her money and we would've got the dog back. No, we were not going to override the health guarantee. But we still lost a lot of $. He had a great home. He had a good temperament, he was crazy but we stocked that up too being a puppy. Felt that would've gotten better with continued training we don't know anything anymore. It became a sick game to her! We desperately wanted to hit rewind. Regret our decision! Had we known then what we know now, we would have been prepared.

We recently welcomed our second Australian Labradoodle, Jenny, from Kent's Hill Labradoodles after…read moregetting our first pup from them in 2020. Jenny is playful, smart, and has such a sweet personality. House training was surprisingly smooth and she's learning commands quickly. Angelica has been awesome. She cares about the pups and has been helpful since we've brought Jenny home. She is available for calls, answering all our questions and giving us good advice. We couldn't be happier with our little family and highly recommend Kent's Hill!

Moki is 11 now and suffers from arthritis, but still loves to be super active and get out and play. I was away out of town for one long weekend with my boyfriend and we asked Brandy to take Moki for a hilly hike and I couldn't have asked for better care. Brandy was meticulous making sure she had all of Moki's essentials before they left. She put together a little care package with water, snacks, poop bags, leash and of course Moki's favorite ball. Brandy was also very careful about what type of meds Moki might need in case she was sore when she came back and we discussed Moki's favorite way to take her meds too. You could really tell Brandy had lots of prior experience as a Vet Tech the way she was so systematic about it all. However, the special bond Brandy formed with my dog after only meeting her for such a short while before we had to leave and go out of town was really the most impressive thing of all. Brandy really loves animals and she has a special way about her that makes them respond very positively to her too. I couldn't believe how attached Moki was to Brandy when we got back and also how good Moki looked with no limping or soreness even though they had gone for a pretty long hard hike together, as per my request. Brandy said that she had even given Moki a little mini doggy massage on her back legs, which was wonderful. Moki seemed so happy that she had gotten to get out still even though Mom and Dad had to go away for the weekend. Brandy provided exactly the type of service I am looking for in a pet sitter. I wouldn't want to give anything less to our family's fuzzy best friend.
