I already wrote a review on their website and it disappeared…read more I didn't want to write this review but I feel it's important for people who love their pets. We brought our seventeen year old papillon for two days last weekend to Karla's Pet Rendezvous. Our first impression was great. They were very friendly and they said they were waiting for us. Someone took our dog right away and said she would be with her. The woman at the desk received our dog's bag and started taking notes of everything we needed with respect to feeding our dog. We gave her a new bag of very special food and explained how to serve it. We told her also that we left a can of food, only in case of need. She was saying yes to everything. I wonder if she actually wrote it down. Two days later we returned for our dog. We were very concerned to find out if she ate well. She usually doesn't eat well when we are not around and that's why we brought in the special food. To our surprise, they said she ate well. We also asked if she was taken out to the bathroom recently. She said about an hour ago. Our dog was crying from the moment she saw us, which was also unusual but we thought she really missed us. We left, thinking everything was fine. We took her outside and she peed immediately for a long time. She doesn't do this unless she hasn't been out for hours. I was already disappointed but I didn't say anything and left. Our dog kept crying in the car, which it's also strange. I gave her a treat and she devoured it. And wanted more. I told my husband, our dog seems very hungry which it's very unusual since it was about 3 in the afternoon and she doesn't eat dinner until after 6. We stopped to feed her. The first thing we found was the bag of the special foods that was not even open. We served it immediately and our dog was really starving. They didn't even opened it! We found the can food that was open and they used only a little bit. We were so upset. Our dog ate and stopped crying. The next day I called the pet boarding place and they dismissed me. They said it was an accident. I felt really bad to have left my dog in such bad care. I do not recommend this place at all.

We had spent so much time together during that time I guess she became hyper vigilant with me. She would become aggressive with any dog that came within in 10 feet of me. Barking and pulling and standing very tall. It never happened when others walked her without me. I tried for two years to change her behavior, including two different trainers, with no real changes. 10 weeks ago Maisie and I went back to Kelly (she had trained Maisie before Covid and she had moved her facility to further away). Within 5 minutes she had it figured out and we started a very simple, but effective program. Within 2 weeks there was a major difference. Maisie was more relaxed, calmer and much less territorial. She travels back and forth to CA from NH every year and I need her to be calm in the airport and not look at other dogs. 6 weeks after we started with Kelly we had to fly back to CA. Maisie was amazing. She was perfect. At 10 weeks out, she saw a dog long before I did. She sat and looked right at me without any instruction from me. THANK YOU KELLY!!!!!!! Can't wait to get back to NH this spring and tune up her service dog training and do some agility! Thank you again!!

Sue was recommended to me by a cousin who was working at a dog boarding facility in Hampton, NH and…read moreI am sure happy that she did. Sue works out of Club Canine in Portsmouth, NH along with K9 Kaos in Dover, NH in addition to at your own home personal training and pet sitting/training. Chewie was an abused dog on death row in Arkansas and I had taken him to a group trining class at Club Canine in Portsmouth run by Sue. Chewie was the only small dog in the room but she made sure to give each dog and owner personalized attention and he graduated the class with flying colors; after a while he looked forward to going to these weekly classes and stopped trying to cower away from the door or pull me away from the building. After graduation my husband and I hired Sue for at home personalized training with Chewie to get him used to being near and interacting with other dogs. Of course Chewie will always be a work in progress and I curse the individuals who hurt him but he has made giant strides for such a little guy, thanks to the help of Sue. A few years later we found another rescue that we had fallen in love with, she was found in a hoarding/ breeding home in TN and was rescued after Animal Control found out she was pregnant. One of her puppies did not make it and after working with her very loving fosters she started becoming healthy and was ready for adoption. Velma, being so young, came with a whole new set of issues and we called upon Sue again for at home training which she always followed up with emails. Velma has problems with potty training plus she and Chewie were not getting along by any means and Sue helped us immensely. After several months of working with the dogs, taking Sue's advice, they are now best friends and I have a hard time remembering those first few months. My husband and I ended up buying our first home recently and hired Sue yet again for at home personalized training as the dogs become acclimated to their new space, environment and neighborhood surrounded by families with their own dogs. Sue practiced walking around the neighborhood with us and the dogs by pointing out body language and how to react in the situations that came up. She was also kind enough to bring her new pup, Nacho, into the back yard to observe the dogs behaviors with one another. I highly recommend Sue's personal training AND group classes as each have added so much to our lives with our rescue pups. This career choice was definitely a calling! We all love Sue so much, dogs included, we found out she does overnight care and she will be looking after Velma and Chewie when we go on a mini vacation later on this year! This is coming from a person who doesn't trust a soul with her dogs and would usually just take them on vacation with us.... Sue is the most trustworthy person I know and I trust her fully with my fur babies.

I was nervous to drop her off for the 2 week board and train, but I can honestly say that it was worth every penny and I am still in shock at how much she learned. When I dropped her off she would pull on the leash and could not be left unattended for any amount of time because she would get into everything! Now she walks by my side (even off leash), sits and stays until released, does "place" on a raised area (stays until released) and no longer jumps at anything and everything that walks near her! She learned 7 commands (sit, down, come, release, heel, place and off). I am so happy :-). I will be recommending Kerry and off leash training to everyone I know who gets a dog. She's incredibly sweet and submissive with other dogs, but she loved to jump on people and had a habit of pulling hard on the leash during walks. At 60 pounds, it was definitely a lot to manage! From the start, Kylie and the Atlantic K9 team were amazing--professional, knowledgeable, and so caring. Brinley attended their two-week bootcamp, and I'll admit, it was hard sending her away for that long with no visits. I was worried she might feel abandoned, but Atlantic K9 made the experience so much easier. They uploaded pictures every day of her playing with other dogs, looking happy and confident, with a smile bigger than I've ever seen on her. It was clear she was having the time of her life--more like a fun vacation than "training camp." When Brinley came home, the transformation was incredible. She has great recall, walks beautifully on leash, and I can now even let her walk off-leash with full confidence. She's learned to stay in her "place," respond to "no" consistently, and--best of all--she no longer jumps on people! I'm so grateful to Kylie and the entire Atlantic K9 team for their compassion, communication, and the amazing results they delivered. Brinley is happier, calmer, and more connected to me than ever. I can't recommend Atlantic K9 Training enough!

We reached out the Atlantic at a complete loss of how to help our sweet Ollie boy succeed. They were nothing but kind, communicative and supportive during our initial conversations, and put us completely at ease about sending our boy to the two-week bootcamp, a choice that was incredibly hard for us! Ollie is a five year old Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix who went to training pre-pandemic and has always been incredibly shy with strangers. Before 2020, this manifested as leash reactivity and we were working hard at it when social distancing went into place. Post-pandemic, we tried every method we could find to try and help him with this, but despite all efforts, his reactivity increased tenfold to include dogs and small children. Sometimes he would he completely fine, and other times, he would aggressively bark and lunge at dogs and kids. It was so stressful that we started keeping him away from other dogs, and our small nieces and nephews to be safe. Ollie's alert barking additionally reached an all time high in the summer of 2023, and his counter-surfing was out of control. We decided it was officially time to get professional help. My husband and I want to start a family soon, and were terrified to think that Ollie's unpredictability could jeopardize his relationship with our future kids. His alert barking was creating a near-constant level of stress in our home, and we couldn't imagine how Ollie would be able to function happily or be involved as our family continues to grow. Throughout the two weeks of bootcamp, we got daily communication about Ollie's progress from the team and pictures of him playing happily during break times. Most importantly, however, K-9 Atlantic has completely transformed our boy, and given us the utmost confidence that Ollie will be the BEST big brother someday. He is literally like a different dog in all of the best ways. He's still our sweet, snuggly, silly boy, but without all of the incessant barking and sneakiness! His reactivity is now basically nonexistent, and he happily plays with our little nieces and nephews when they come over! He is a rockstar on and off-leash. We've even slowly integrated meeting new dogs in controlled settings, and he has been so very successful. He hasn't even counter surfed (despite us purposely leaving chicken on the counter in his reach in order to practice!!!!). Ollie's newfound confidence shines in his ability to meet new people and have experiences without all of the anxiety that he displayed prior to his time at K-9 Atlantic. He is the best version of himself, and we are so beyond proud of the good boy his has become!!! I don't know what magic the K-9 Atlantic team did with him while he was training, but we cannot believe that he is the same dog. He has been SO good, and an absolute angel while practicing. We are beyond grateful for everyone at Atlantic for truly transforming our boy and our lives. We can never thank you enough!

During this process we conducted consultations with several trainers throughout NYC and when we finally connected with Anna we were impressed with her extensive knowledge of dog training that was far beyond what we had encountered with other trainers. Anna has a three pronged approach of positive, corrective, and relaxation techniques which is a much more holistic approach than we encountered when we interviewed other trainers. Anna's focus on relaxation is different than any trainer we interviewed or worked with which teaches dogs how to exist in a calm state, which becomes homeostasis. This is what we wanted most with our dog so that we can all peacefully coexist together. Anna's home and dog training quarters are in a beautiful setting with a gorgeous view of Mt Ascutney. There is a lot of open outdoor area for the dogs to learn off-leash skills and to have exciting distractions such as goats and other dogs. Having a calm, natural setting is a benefit which is allowing our dog to master foundational skills without other distractions. However, because Anna knows that we will be brining our dog back to the city, she has taken our pup to busier areas to work on training with other distractions. After 10 days we met up with Anna and our dog to get some training transferred to us and it was like meeting a different dog. Our dog has already learned great leash skills and is able to be around other dogs and people without becoming overly aroused. She is immediately responsive to all major commands. Anna is also working on house training issues and helping our pup to learn to go outside. Initially our dog wasn't able to go outside because she was becoming too distracted when we were in the city. When we dropped our pup off she was newly recovering from being fixed and Anna's background as a nurse made us feel more at ease knowing that she would be attentive to her healing. Anna's depth of knowledge and clear instructions with us has already helped us learn so much about how to engage with our dog. We are so happy we found her services! I'm surprised that there aren't more 5 star reviews here that sing her praises. Thank you, Anna!
