Of course things always break down on Holidays, or weekends...in our case, it was both! Our hot water heater, for in-floor heat, stopped working on Thanksgiving Day :(. I tried to call the company that made it, to ask about warranty...but they were closed for the holiday, until Monday...can't wait that long in this weather! So....we went in to L&M, where we bought it 6 years ago. Bob and Laurie listened to our dilemma; turns out there were 3 days left on the warranty! Not only did Laurie send us home with a replacement water heater, she allowed us to keep the defective one until we could transfer the fluids! So i needed a new tire for my john deere riding lawnmower.It was last saturday about 5pm and was met by a lady at the tire counter she was very nice.She knew her stuff and we picked out a tire and was told we would have to leave so they could change it and pick it up on sunday.We have a cabin about a hour away.So we asked if they could do it now because of the hour away drive she called a young man and within about five minutes she made my day so i didnt have to come back.The price was very good and the tire was the right choice.Thanks Again for making day. read more

I wish this could be a good review, sadly it is not. My husband and I were traveling through Hayward on our way snowmobiling and got a flat tire on our trailer. We were at a gas station about six blocks away from L&M and it was 5 to 10 minutes before they closed. We called there asking if they had spare tires knowing that our options in the town would be limited to find at 8:30 at night on a Friday and they said they did. We said we would be right there (after we disconnected the trailer) and that if they could stay open an extra five minutes or so we could buy the tire and be on our way that we would greatly appreciate it. He said absolutely not and they they would likely be closing shortly and couldn't stay open an extra 5 minutes. So stranded we stayed... I am shocked that small business are vocally griping that Walmarts are running them out of these small towns but then they have terrible customer service like this. We ended up at Walmart trying to solve it with fix a flat... Thanks L&M for your great help. read more

Well i have always been a huge fan of L&M until last week. I looked on line to confirm that they stocked the correct bar for my chainsaw before making a 30 min drive on so so roads. Sure enough they not only show my bar but dozens and dozens more; almost a hundred variations. I thought wow that's impressive! But hey where else can you see & hold a complete line and i mean complete line of Husqvarna & Stihl saws and outdoor power tools. Jim the salesperson was extremely patient and helpful but to no avail they did not have they correct bar,a few empty bins and maybe a fifth or less of the line up shown on there store website. Jim did offer to order one but i don't live in Sawyer County full time so this was not an option. Thoroughly convinced that my saw was an oddball (its an Echo cs-520 78 LINK .325 20 inch bar) i thought maybe i should open my wallet and spring for a saw i can readily get bars and chains. But wait a minute they don't stock the bigger bars and chains for the higher end Huskies or Stihl's THAT THEY SELL IN STOCK ON THE FLOOR READY TO GO! HUH?? NOT that i could see unless they are hiding these items in an invisible aisle cloaked by antimatter! So you could buy a nearly thousand dollar pro saw but have to apparently order the bars and chains come replacement time. OK hold on here Hayward is a smaller market maybe i should digress and give L&M a pass as maybe they cannot stock every bar chain combo known to man would tie up lots of money right? Well lets see if they stocked 50 more SKUS that's only 50 x 25 (approx dealer cost) That's only $1250 HUH? If that store isn't doing well over TEN MILLION a year in sales i would be stunned. $1250 is A DROP IN THE BUCKET! Fast forward to today and i went to Menards in Green Bay to pick up some shrink wrap etc and just happened to walk by their very smallish chain saw bar and chain area.Bear in mind that Menards does not sell Stihl, Husqvarna or Echo saws. They stock what looks like the top 10 selling Oregon chain and bar combos. The second peg had YOU GUESSED IT! MY BAR & CHAIN. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE THEY HAD FIVE!!! I FLIPPED THE PACKAGE OVER TO CONFIRM THIS WAS INDEED FOR A CS-520 AND IT WAS. ALONG WITH 50 YEAH THAT'S FIFTY !!! OTHER SAWS IN 5 BRANDS INCLUDING POULAN PRO AND CRAFTSMAN. MY SAW'S NOT AN ODD BALL. THE BUYERS AT L&M MUST BE ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. AT THIS POINT I AM NO LONGER FRUSTRATED I AM FFFING PISSED! OH AND ON A SIDE BAR KINDLY INFORM YOUR WEB DEVELOPERS THAT .325 ( 325/1000) OF AN INCH IS NOT FRACTIONAL 3/8 INCHES IN ANY UNIVERSE. .325 IS FRACTIONAL 13/40 INCHES. WOW ! read more

Very nice store to get your outdoor gear and much more. Good prices on items like Carhartt apparel better then Chicago prices. My aunt got me my early birthday gift here. Only wish they wouldn't of put their stupid security tag inside the wallet. I was wondering why I was beeping going into other stores.
