Robert was communicative and thorough in his research to determine the problem with our oven and our clothes dryer. He is very nice and explains what he's doing and why. Our GE double wall oven was acting up and he took the top electronic cover off and checked the wires. He tested all of the possible error codes to check for issues and found none. He tested the broiler, oven temps and convection fans to ensure all was working okay. He also diagnosed our dryer sound that suddenly and intermittently appeared a few weeks ago as a broken idler that we could buy online and either install ourselves (he showed us how) or call him to install when it comes in at his hourly rate. Robert's rate is very fair. We would hire him again. read more

Got a critical project that you don't need completed or you wish you could string out a lot longer.... Robert Matecka and L& M Home Services is your company. Tired of all those calls/emails from contractor's asking silly questions about how to finish your home improvement project.... Robert Matecka and L&M Home Service is your company. At Robert Matecka and L&M Home Services, we are big believers in "no contact". Yes, that's right... no calls, no e-mail's... no update's at all. Sure, we'll leave you guessing.... but don't we all need a little more mystery in our lives? Was contacted (6/14) by Robert Matecka and L&M Home Services for GE Stove repair... after searching on GE's website for parts/repair companies in the Pittsburgh area. My stove's circuit board (Bradford Woods) was damaged during big storm in April.... it eventually failed completely by June. Robert quoted me $442.25 for new control board & overlay... would probably take a week or two to get & installed. I'm ok with that... eat out a bit, use air fryer... I can manage.... get me on the schedule! Fast forward 3 weeks to 7/9... after no call's/email's.... I contact him asking what is the latest and why haven't I heard from you? "Sorry... part is backordered". Really, no call's, email's/updates for 3 weeks... WTF....and I'm supposed to just sit there without a stove/oven? At Robert Matecka and L&M Home Services we believe that "customer centric" model is kinda old and out dated. Yep, we're firm believers that "doing nothing... in our own time.... and wasting yours" is the way to go! So, if any of you in the Pittsburgh area use this guy or his company.... for home or appliance repair, plumbing... or even picking up leaves... be ready to be disappointed and have your time wasted. Dryer repair was performed by Bob from L&M services . Onc e the necessary part had arrived he had the dryer repaired and serviced in under 2 hours. He had to completely dismantle and clean the residual lint that I failed to remove replaced a broken part that triggered the thermocouiple and put the dryer back together. He even cleaned the laundry area of lint. Bob is a very pleasant down to earth conscientious repairman , who we learned also is a one man handy man remodeler. Very pleasnt to talk with and a joy to have had him service our dryer. Highly, highly , highly recommend him to anyone needing appliance repair (except refrigerators) read more

Bob was a terrific repairman. I would absolutely work with him again and recommend him to anyone in town. Very nice person from your company. Too bad the weather didn't cooperate that day, terrible storm and couldn't finish job due to electricity going out. After getting so many quotes over the years for different projects that I needed done the quotes were so inflated you couldn’t afford it and now you had to scale back on your dreams or the job cost was to small no one wanted bothered. Over the years after taking classes from appliance repair to plumbing, framing or welding I now just do it mostly all my self.
