However, the movers were an hour late and showed up with an extra person than I was not originally quoted. Which is fine, if it doesn't change my quote, but what I was charged ended up being expodentially higher than what I anticipated based on the quote. Especially since I moved a majority of my items before they arrived. I had most of the items already ready and took apart and put together my bed itself. I even assisted helping move what I had left by loading the smaller items in my car. I moved most of the items before they even arrived so they had really only had the heavy/bigger items that I couldn't take myself. There were also 30 minutes I couldn't even find the movers, even after calling them. I had moved 6 minutes down the road but it took them over 30 minutes to arrive. I had driven back, double checked they got everything, locked everything up, came back to the new place, and still waited another 15 minutes. So they were off somewhere unknown to me. This also lowered my trust in their service. When I asked for an itemized receipt so I could double check how I was being charged, I never heard from them again. If you do decide to use this company, you should know that the quality is excellent because they take care in how your items are moved, their professionalism and communication is great but you may hear them complaining if items are heavy. I think the funniest comment I heard from them was "Everything is heavy Up in this Crib". I would recommend ensuring someone is there the entire time to ensure you track when they leave and when they arrive at the new location and have them itemize the receipt before sending you the bill. A vague receipt won't do to make sure you aren't overcharged.

I also needed some help getting a new wind stop/chain installed on a swinging screen door in the basement. They were the only service I reached out to who asked for specific details about the jobs before providing a quote, which is a great way to do business. They also provided a real time of expected arrival instead of something like a four-hour window taking up your entire day. They arrived a little before the time quoted with two people - one the main handyman and one being trained. They did a prompt and excellent job and the cost was very fair. I almost don't want to tell everyone how good they are because then they'll become too busy, ha! They truly deserve your business.

However, he did not speak any English. How disappointing! I probably should have stopped there, but I didn't and I regretted it. It was too hard to communicate even the most simple words. We had to use a translator app which takes away from the time I'm paying for. I believe if you're going to charge $50 an hour, and the state minimum is $7.50, you should speak English. If you don't, you need someone with you that does. I had a series of tasks and every conversation required the app. The performance was excellent for some tasks and others were a bit disappointing. I was trying to patch some holes in the wall in the paint did not match exactly. He painted all the holes instead of just doing a small part and getting my approval before moving forward. Maybe we lost something in translation there. Now I have uneven colors and I'll have to cover with a painting. I'm giving it 3 stars because I feel that announcing that the worker does not speak English should be business practice for transparency. A paying customer deserves that. I paid them in full and made my comments known. If you only have one task, perhaps a translation app is okay. In my case, we had several and the constant need to record and play made it for a long afternoon.

They responded quickly to my inquiry, seemed knowledgeable about the repairs and work I needed, and started the job quickly. Then everything went downhill. 1) I was initially quoted $1500 for a fence install. I gave a $500 down payment. After the fence was halfway done I was told they needed an additional $1,000 and they would not continue work until I paid that amount in full. 2) They did not ask for a survey of the property and installed the fence about a foot into my neighbor's yard without asking me. My neighbor is now asking me to move my fence or get an easement. This is even more money I am shelling out on top of the $2500 I was initially scammed out of. 3) It took over three weeks to install a fence that (according to contractors I've spoken to since then) should have taken 2 days. They disappeared before installing the gates to finish the job and left a bunch of tools behind. I had to call 4 times before someone would come to put the gates on. 4) They did not bother to dig out the posts of the chain link fence that was previously there. They merely cut off the poles so I now have jagged chunks of metal poles sticking out of the ground. They also inexplicably left a small section of chain link fence on the side of my neighbor's property that I must also pay to remove. 5) With the initial $1500 quote they agreed to do additional small repairs in my home such as fix a latch on our screen door and install shelves in a room. They disappeared before ever even starting on those projects. Working with this company was a nightmare and I strongly recommend steering clear of them even if you are desperate for repairs or to get handy work done. It will end up costing you much more money than they quote you and then even more to fix what they broke. Again, DO NOT HIRE!
