TLDR; Kathryn from L&S reached out to remediate our experience. I'm sure the company is great for insurance covered roofing projects, however I would recommend going with any other company for out of pocket projects. We had L&S give us a quote on a new roof. Gentleman showed up in basketball shorts and t shirt in the middle of winter. Didn't go on the roof for inspection, didn't go in the attic for inspection. Simply climbed 2 steps up the attic ladder breaking a step on the ladder following it up with a comment "this is why I don't go in attics!". Shined flashlight and said "yup you need a new roof!", some attic inspection that was. Gentleman was more concerned about what homeowners did for work to determine a price for quote. Don't flag my review simply because you don't agree with it, practice better business and you'll get better reviews. read more

The entire experience from the first phone call to the last quality control check of our new roof was very smooth and pleasant. I was kept in constant communication with the L&S staff about the different phases of my roofing project, and always felt like I was in very good hands. The talented roofers showed up early ready to work and treated my home as if it were there own. When they left, I couldn't find a single nail or really any evidence they were there besides my beautiful new roof. I referred this company to my niece, who bought a roof for $30,000. I understand this is a messy job, but for me, they laid down tarps to catch extra debrie (which wasn't laid correctly for me and dumped in my Koi pond). But they did come out immediately at the time and to try to fix the problem. They did not cover anything for my niece. For my niece, they started at 7 am, never knocked on the door to say, "HI, we are starting." She has young kids sleeping. Then they left a full mess of nails all over the driveway, and she needed to get her car out to go to school for the kids. They ran over her kids' bike and acted as they did realize when confronted, and they never apologized. The manager said they would replace the bike, but they never did. They said that since I referred, I got a gift card, and I never got it. I wanted it to go to my neice. They just don't follow through. It's really too bad as we had a couple of referrals for them. They say they have the highest standards. Time to step up!! read more

Not impressed. This is a review merely for the salesperson who did my quote for attic insulation, not for any service I actually received. I actually had already chosen to go with another company and notified L&S via email that I no longer needed a quote. They persuaded me into having someone come out, so I agreed to the same night. The guy came out, and had no idea why he was here. He stated his boss told him to come. So I told him I wanted the attic insulated; he went up there for all of 2 minutes then outside to the perimeter of my house. Then of course, he showed me info about the type of insulation they use and whatnot. I had to ask him to tell me about cost. The quote was over 1k higher then I had gotten previously, but that wasn't the part that deterred me the most. The guy asked me how many other companies I had looked at and what type of insulation they used, etc. He continued to ask me questions and put me right on the spot, and asked me if I wanted to sign up even though I told him I was getting quotes. I told him I need to compare my quotes and do do the best thing and he said "we're the best thing". It felt pushy and uncomfortable. I think some extra staff training may help... but I am not hiring them. read more

Ryan was able to work with us for a great price point, and showed us in great detail the benefits his company could offer, in addition to comprehensive information regarding product and materials. Our roof needed immediate repair due to a gaping hole... compliments of some critter on our roof. L&S was able to expedite the roofing process so that his crew came out three days later, and finished the job in one day... including meticulous cleanup of the work area. This Company did our sidings. After looking into 3 quotes we went on with this company be aide their price was fair. We also drove to see other siding jobs they just did and seem to do a good job. We put down the payment for the material 1/3. We did not have a good run and with our glasses that had to be installed we have been pushed from July to August, to November to finally March. I was nervous so rang after them but they all came back in a nice way. When they finally started we had a very nice contractor doing the job - it's a tricky house contemporary with very complicated rounds where creativity needed. We are very happy with them and the price they gave us. The customer care was always there. Although I had to point out the insulation but the guys fixed it. So I can recommend their clean job. With sidings you want to have professor work- it's the dress of the house and very important to get it done properly and they did. A d they left the spot clean too. From start to finish working with this company has been fantastic. Jacob gave us a free estimate and spent well over 30 mins inspecting the entirety of the scope of the job. He was on our roof, in our tiny attic, and walked the entire perimeter all the while taking photos. (The other two estimates from other companies we got they men basically looked from our driveway and maybe walked around the perimeter). He gave us a detailed description of the process and at no time gave any of the sales gimmicks that every other company gave us nor made us feel pressured at any point. When we decided to go with them a few days later the company was honest and thorough. Before during and after instalation, we never had any issues with contacting for questions. There were no surprise costs and they kept us Informed on all parts of the of instalation. The crew that came out were fast and professional and the cleanup was immaculate. If I could leave zero stars I would. Some mom and pop crew came to do the roof yesterday around 4pm. Don't think they pulled a permit because when we asked to see one we were given the run around. Seemed like the job was rushed. They didn't finish. There's garbage the crew left behind. Woke up this morning with water leaking throughout my entire house. Really regret choosing this company. I contract for a living and have expectations of companies I do business with when dealing with my home. This was the first time I had to have a roof replaced and most companies I spoke to or had out for estimates were an absolute nightmare to deal with... we had 5 estimates in total (and spoke to eleven different companies in total!) This company, however, was fantastic and I have nothing but good things to say about their people and the work they do. Their sales rep was professional, knowledgeable, and gave the impression of actually caring... The sales rep that came out to give us a quote was thorough and took her time with us, she explained things in ways we could understand and not feel too overwhelmed. The roof was delivered when they said it would be and the crew showed up early to start the project and finished in one day! They did a good job with clean-up, I honestly couldn't tell they had been there. I appreciated that Adam did a walk through checking the roof and talking with us and answering any questions. And they also followed through about a week after the job to follow-up with any questions or issues (there were none) that may have arised. Best service ever! It is difficult to find any contractor with the amount of 5 star reviews that L & S has on various web sites. We opted for their premium roofing job on the house and garage plus new gutters with screens to avoid the nasty fall trash in the gutter problem. Matt did our initial estimate and final walk-thru. There is no way you could find a person more honest and trust worthy, down to earth, and more knowledgeable in every aspect of the roof, ventilation of the roof, and insulation. We learned a lot from his initial presentation. The work crews for the roof were done in less than 8 hours and that includes a great clean up. They used tarp and covered the flowerbeds, grass , entry and the driveway did not have one roofing staple in it. The company is an officially approved contractor for Owen Corning and they filled out the paperwork for our transferable warranty in case we ever sell. L & S did not drive to Hawaii to replace our roof! We registered with Yelp in Honolulu many years ago. Our new roof is on a house here in Metro Detroit. read more
