These guys did a great job installing our kitchen granite. It's beautiful! The price was great and you can even go into their Sacramento location to pick out your slab. They were able to come and install our counters one week from when we ordered- way fast! Make sure your schedule is flexible for when they come install. The guys were 2.5 hours late on the first day and had to come the following day to finish. But for the price and quality, you can't beat this place. Called and spoke to a gentleman who advised would charge me $50.00 to come out and bid my kitchen. I advised him that other contractors I called for bids weren't charging for in home estimates, in which he just said okay thank you for calling. If you are looking for quality value and exceptional customer service L & U Cabinet & Granite will meet your expectations. Our master bath vanity now looks complete and definitely high end. We where on our way to pick selections with a company in Sacramento but I told the wife let's just stop. At first I was ready to walk out because of the lack of a showroom. Vince was working the showroom and this kids knowledge and experience sold us. I've been in construction one way or another for 35 years and not easily impressed or bullshitted. Frank is the owner and Frank seams to be a genuine and honest guy. After finding out Vince and Frank where related i let Frank know his nephew Vince was the reason we went with L & U. L & U sure does feel like a great family personable business that we like to help support. Don't let the lack of a showroom detour you from dealing with L & U. They have catalogs and they are a large Emser tile dealer. We got all our master bath selections from L & U through Emser Tile at a great savings over going to Emser on our own. We will keep you posted on the entire kitchen remodeling L & U is performing. Update on Kitchen remodel from L & U. They did the tear out with not too much downtime and very little mess. The install of cabinets went pretty smooth and painlessly. The counters went in perfectly and look amazing. We hired our own flooring and installer. Al though L & U could have handled the install just fine. We are so happy with the choice we made with going with L & U. We have gained some friends as well. I still keep in contact with Frank and I'm now friends with Vince and one of his counter installers Jarod. We decided to go with granite for our kitchen remodel. We looked high and low and found some beautiful granite but crazy expensive for what we had budgeted. Then I remembered L&U. The GC who did our bathroom took me there to pick out a counter top. I went alone to see what they had, talked with Frank for quite awhile. Gave him the info he gave me a rough estimate. We picked out our granite they sent Manny out to make templets. 2 days later Manny & Jr did the install and they are gorgeous! I highly recommend L&U!!!! read more

We bought our quartz here and are happy with the whole experience.. The lighting there isn't bad but it's like a warehouse so if you want to be precise in matching up slabs, bring a flashlight. We went on 3 different occasions to match slabs and Alan was patient and encouraging when pulling out slab after slab. All in all a good experience. The quartz in our kitchen looks great. This place did an awesome job putting quartz countertops in all 3 of our bathrooms. We only had to wait a week for them to get started. They scheduled demo, template, and install across one week. Amazingly there was a cancelation on their schedule and they got everything done ahead of schedule. Just 3 days. I paid 25% less than I was quoted at a local big box store and I was able to afford quartz! At the big box I was only going to be able to afford "solid surface" or "cultured marble." Not nearly as nice as quartz and it was going to cost 25% more. The associate at the big box store told us it would be at least 6 weeks (standard) before the work could be scheduled. A friend of mine referred me to L&U on Peabody and they were great. They have a huge warehouse in Sac that is full of granite and quartz. If you choose, you can go there and pick the pieces you would like. The staff was very prompt, not pushy, and there was no game playing. I walked in and told them what I wanted. They gave me an amazing price. They showed up promptly to do the work. Deal done. I only wish I knew about these guys before I went with the big box store on my kitchen. read more

Sooo disappointed! Just had new counters, backsplash and sink installed by L and U. While L and U's workers did decent work, do NOT let them sell you a sink or have high expectations for customer service. The owner, Frank sold us a highly touted "16 guage stainless steel sink, hand forged, blah blah, blah, much better than I could get at Lowes or HD",... and it is JUNK! No shine, water sits in sink causing water stains, it doesn't dry off well, doesnt clean up well, and it scratched terribly in the first load of pans washed in it, the same pans I have always had! Its a big dark, ugly hole in my lovely kitchen. I've had SS sinks, 30+ years, and have kept them beautifully clean and shiny for YEARS. -with a blue sponge and Dawn. This sink is horrible, and they want to charge $1000 to remove it. The customer service at L and U is poor. There was no follow up after the last 'contractor' finished up. At least not until they called us up a week later for the balance - like debt collectors, without an email or a paper bill being sent, or a single inquiry whether or not the work was satisfactory. Their office management is a hot mess. For the hunk of money you'll spend, dont expect them to care if you're satisfied with the results. Also, watch for your quote to go up as your project goes along. YOU have to ask many questions. You'll be surprised by the markups along the way. read more
