Well, we are a bit more adventurous, so we sort of know the basic words for fish, chicken and beef, so we go with the set lunch which was about €9.50. I can't say that we stumble upon a hidden gem worthy of michelin star, but it's good honest fresh home cooking, inexpensive and serve by a nice lady. A 25 cl jug of Bergerac Rose, a delightful drink on the hot day, cost EUR3.50. Then walked over the two nearby bridges, one over the Dordogne and one, its last, over the Vezere. This is the meeting of the waters and two now flow as the Dordogne. Under the trees, close to the restaurant, there are quite a few tables and here small groups were enjoying a do it yourself meal or just a rest from the hot sun. A tip. Some French restaurants, particularly in tourist areas, are spread across a road. You will usually find that the tables across the road from the main building are for drinks only.

Wine was OK, considering this was France I had hoped it would have been better. Overall I got the distinct impression that corners were being cut to make this a profitable business and it showed. The restaurant is only open from Friday to Monday and they prefer you to reserve a table rather than just turn up. I wouldn't go back but I would urge you to try it to see what you think perhaps I've been a bit harsh.

If I remember my convo with her husband correctly. I think their menu doesn't change that much, but I don't come here that often. She usually has amazing flavors. I always say it satisfies my craving for English food. She often has a pie that has a curry inside. I have also had a filo-wrapped fried cheese for starter a couple times. We walked in and many locals were choosing from the many tapas available: skewers of meat and seafood, and small plates of cheeses. Lots of people ordered wines and beers too.
