The one place in France I must return to every time I am there, which has been about 200 days in…read morethe last 6 years. The food is generous and delicious. From the Oeufs en Meurette to the morel mushroom sauce, I have enjoyed almost everything on the menu (cheese allergies keep me far away from sauce Epoisses!) I'd say the duck is my favorite and it is a huge portion for well-under 20 €, and they cook it in the fireplace in the middle of the room!
The first time I ate here was so good I came back the next night. This is the best food deal in France. One could not ask for a more rustic, romantic setting that could be the same as it was 500 years ago. This is small-town local dining at its best! The service is good and there have been some upgrades to the kitchen (2010) and there are plans to expand in late 2011.
