The menu is extensive so take our time looking it over Pooh had spinach and mushroom eggs Benedict and I took the vegetarian skillet. Both of us had a side of bacon. Pooh really enjoyed his Benedict, the sauce was on side so you add as much or as little sauce as you wanted. The plate was garnished with a nice beefeater tomato. The vegetarian skillet was great! Not too many potatoes which I enjoyed. Plus a side of baked beans - not too sweet - and beefeater tomatoes The bacon was crispy - bonus points for that!

I had a combino plate called Versant with 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes with 2 french toasts. I also like thry give real maple syrup to put on french toast ans waffle. We followed Audrey's tip and made our way here after a day of running errands in St Jerome. The…read morespace is big and airy but still feels fairly cozy with long dark leather couches and tucked away corners. A couple of TVs but none too oppressive, beautiful big open kitchen window where you can see the pizza oven and the staff at work. Mid afternoon on a cold January weekend there were a few other tables of folks drinking wine and local beer and having relaxing meals. I can see this spot jumping in the summer, especially as it's near the bike path and some mini putt. We had called ahead to see what we could eat here because we are vegetarians with a severe dairy allergy and this place specializes in homemade charcuterie, and the veggie burger on the menu emphasizes milk in the bun. Turned out we were able to order the fish and chips, and any pizza without cheese - risky order at a lot of pubs where this could be just plain lame eats, but ultimately here at Shawbridge it was all totally delicious. We had the wild mushroom pizza which was actually loaded with amazing flavourful local mushrooms, the tomato sauce was incredible and the dough was both thin and chewy and crisp and perfection. The fish and chips were better than most as well, flavourful cod cooked perfectly, so moist in a light, lovely batter and a glorious mountain of matchstick fries and actually great salad. We enjoyed our encounters with all of the staff (and we met basically all of them as the kid insisted on walking around, taking it all in.) Everyone was friendly and kind and professional. We met the owner, Hugues, when he came over to say hi to the kiddo and trade stories about his own little one and we got to chatting about the restaurant. His passion for local organic veg was so endearing and right up our alley, and even before he told us he wanted to start experimenting with vegan terrines and cheeses we knew we wanted to come back soon.
