He picked the most amazing white wine, opened the bottle for us and put plastic cups in a bag and sent us on our way. He was so accommodating. And the price of the wine was excellent. If you ever go to Rome it's worth a trip to this wine shop to stock up on amazing and reasonably priced wine.

Coming from California, we have a lot of wineries there too, but Fabio, the owner, took the time to show us different kinds of Moscato, my fave! We ended up buying 3 bottles :). It's fascinating and disturbing and I'm not sure what to think about it. The gentleman who runs the shop is friendly and helpful. However, the markup is insane. Likely because this shop is dead smack in the hotel district, you can expect to pay two, three, sometimes five times the standard retail price for a cheap and mediocre bottle of wine. The decent stuff can cost more than dinner for two at an upscale restaurant. The markup on spirits is even worse. Of course, if you're hammered, you won't care how badly you got ripped off.
