Cacio e Pepe with black truffle, pasta with mushrooms and black truffle (forget the name!)

We had such a great meal here, a few glasses of wine and amazing pasta later, we were happy campers. The Cacio e Pepe was the most flavorful pasta dish we had ever tasted- it is a must!

    Carbonara from culinary heaven

My tastebuds are so happy. This place has the best carbonara I ate out of Rome, Florence and Venice. Absolutely incredible. Came here two years ago and went out of our way to come back and eat it again. The pizza is also amazing so don't sleep on that and the staff is so kind and do speak English in case that is a worry. Will hopefully be back in another two years!!

Authentic, well-priced gem close to the Coliseum but away from the hectic crowds. I highly recommend for an outdoor lunch. This was my first meal in Rome and I was so pleased.

Best pizza we've had in the neighborhood!

On our first attempt to try this spot out for a weeknight dinner, we were too late. This small restaurant fills up quickly. Not only is it in a popular area near the Colosseum but it is freaking wonderful. Luckily we stopped back by the following day for a late lunch and got a table. We started with some cheese and honey. Generous portions and yumm. How can you go wrong. Then decided to split a pizza and ragú pasta. Let me just say that I ate quite a few pizzas in Italy. This one was by far the best of this run. The crust, the sauce, the veggies. Roasted eggplant, zucchini and sweet peppers. The trinity of any vegetarian dish in Italy apparently. But it was perfection. The pasta was really great too. A nice robust meaty sauce over fresh made pasta. There was a pretty long wine list but I went for beer since it had been a while. Definitely check this little gem out of in the area.

Out wondering around and stumbled upon this place. First meal in Italy and it definitely set the bar high. I ordered the limoncello spritz and Cacio e Pepe. I will be comparing every meal to this place! I never write reviews unless I think the establishment truly deserves my time. Kudos to the staff and chefs. I will be back again!

*MUST READ FROM START TO FINISH!* Woah. Completely amazing experience. The owner here is absolutely REMARKABLE and we're very appreciative of the experience we had while we were here. The food is delicious, the wine is top-notch, and the staff is extremely professional and pleasant. We had actually called earlier to see if we could get a reservation, but they were full. After checking out some other restaurants in the area and seeing what horrible reviews they had, we decided to pop in to see if they had any room for us. Thankfully, they were able to squeeze us in, and we were so happy they did. They have a HUGE selection of wine here; literally the size of an encyclopedia, lol. We tried the bottle of Pinot Nero for our wine, which is made in Sicily; highly recommended if you're a Pinot Noir lover. The owner was extremely knowledgeable in how to remove the sediment and poured our wine into a decanter to aerate it. He was totally a pro, and you couldn't help but watch in awe as he did his thing. As far as our food, we tried to cod fish appetizer, the truffle egg pasta, and the Bolognese egg pasta. Everything was delicious!! My boyfriends truffle pasta was his favorite of the trip and that's saying a lot because we actually went to a 200 euro per person truffle tasting menu in another restaurant in Rome. My Bolognese was everything I could have hoped for. This was the only time we actually finished all our food in full while we were in Roma! As far as the dessert, we tried the biscotti gelato with melted chocolate that totally hit the spot for us. It was amazing! The tables are a little close together, but it actually worked out in our favor because we made some amazing friends that were sitting right next to us. We though we'd come here just for dinner, but we ended up staying almost two more hours because we loved the atmosphere here so we decided to keep ordering drinks. While we were outside smoking a cigarette, some guy came out and I could barely understand what he was saying. He asked for a light and he kept telling us he wanted to drink with us. While we continued our conversation with the couple we had met, he stood there for a GOOD 20 minutes without saying a word. The whole time He was there I was wondering if he was trying to pick-pocket us or something. The owner must have looked at the camera or something, and came out and immediately approached the man. I don't understand Italian, but the couple we were with did and they pretty much said the owner said something along the lines of "how do you know these people? you don't know these people, get out of here and don't bother them". We really appreciated his gesture because who knows what the guys intentions were; he could have been trying to rob us for all we know. That right there is customer service at its finest. Even after we paid and left, the owner cared enough to make sure his patrons were well-taken care of. I'll always recommend this restaurant to anyone I know moving forward. Do yourself a favor and come here! It's only a block or two away from the Colosseo, so this is the perfect spot before or after your tour. Whatever you do, don't go to the restaurants on the strip of the Colosseo, because their reviews are all horrible. Thank you for a perfect night!

    Sage Butter Gnocchi

Perfect authentic Italian food!! The staff here was so accommodating & attentive. Affordable pricing & we left satisfied! The gnocchi & lasagna were the best meals we've had in Rome so far. Will 100% come back again!

A small restaurant with 5-6 tables. Good for dinner and also a drink after dinner. I love the beef steak! Nice with a red wine. Veggies is tasty tho bit spicy.

    Great service!

The owner I believe who helped us! Great service! Food menu was well put together and nice offerings for everyone. Huge selection of wines and just an all around nice atmosphere! Only issue was the tonnarelli cacio e Pepe is a little heavy on the cheese pictures are a little deceptive although he did warn her!!! Hahahahahha!!! I loved my poplettes!!

Clearly superior ingredients, including the cheeses of which they use three, superior pasta, and a chef that knows what he's doing! Relative to the wine I had tonight, they have a very large selection of wines where it literally numbers in the hundreds. The 2020 Cesari Amarone I had with dinner was exceptional (rated 4.2 in Vivino). I ended up getting two glasses while dining. Earlier in the day before dinner, I came in for several glasses of locally produced whites that were very good as well and were recommended by the hostess. For you wine snobs that are out there this is truly is a restaurant you want to check out as they have all price points here and kudos to the owner for stocking a very diversified and excellent selection of wines! This restaurant comes across as a very classy establishment as the selection of wines adorn literally three of the four walls within the business. It has a bright clean interior with a nice comfortable vibe to it where any wine aficionado will love the place. It also offers outdoor dining for those that want this environment however, there is quite a bit of foot traffic and cars that go by this restaurant which kind of minimizes the enjoyment of the outside dining Overall, this is an outstanding restaurant if you're looking for a superior dining experience that won't break the bank and enjoy a glass of finer wine, you should definitely check this place out. Five stars in my book all day long.

We ordered an Old Fashioned and Mojito for Apéritif and enjoyed both. Once again we moved to another table that was outside but with cover once we decided to stay for dinner. Cool Bar area and a party room that housed their extensive collection of Wine. Outdoor seating was okay. We started with the Roman style Artichoke-seemed like it was missing something so we asked for some olive oil and Balsimic vinegar which made a huge difference. The Burrata/Prosciutto starter didn't disappoint with mild, slightly salty Ham. I asked the server which she would recommend-Sea Bass or Frutti de Mare Spaghetti-Frutti de Mare (Poseidon) it is. Full of fresh seafood with a very light tomato sauce-delicious! Were able to substitute spaghetti for ravioli in the Pesto/sundried tomato entree which was a nice touch-Pesto sauce was amazing! We paired it with a recommended Rose-Calafuria-just right fruity with 100% Negroamaro grape. Service was engaged and attentive. Make this Monti stop for their extensive cocktail and wine selections!

Highly recommended!…read more We have stopped in here with friends on several occasions. It's right off of Campo de Fiori and it's a nice respite from the pushy restauranteurs and the sometimes loud musicians in the square. It's very low key and a great place to be able to sit and chat and actually hear the other people talk without having to yell. It's almost like you are sitting in a little wine cellar. Shelves of wine adorn the walls so it's very cozy. It would be a great place to bring a date for sure. On our most recent visit, the gentleman that served us was especially helpful and welcoming. We asked about the various food and wine offerings and after we settled on a cheese board, the gentleman proceeded to suggest some wine pairings and also walked us through the different cheeses on the board and how they were made and what made each of them unique. It was a very nice experience and we again made a mental note that on our next trip to Rome, we would definitely be visiting L'Angolo Divino again!
