Worst experience and outcome one could imagine! He was not honest about how the surgery went and I ended up in a boot for 6 weeks, pain killers for the two weeks before he admitted he broke the metatarsal in my foot and after all that time in the boot my back went out! If this pod is still practicing, think about getting a second opinion before any surgery. Seven years later, I'm still having muscle cramps after the botched surgery on a bunion scrape, and a floppy little toe because he took way too much bone when taking a corn. He thinks his joking around will keep his patients from getting too angry over these huge mistakes. Although another podiatrist who is far more qualified told me to report him to the state medical board, I didn't. I'm scheduled to see a new podiatrist in a few weeks to see what they can do to help reduce the ongoing problems. On my other foot, Lorimer convinced me to have a neuroma removed from the top for ease of healing. Other podiatrists say that's ridiculous and healing from the bottom is no more challenging and the neuroma is much more likely to return. Mine is back with a vengeance and causing foot cramps at the toes above the place of the neuroma. He's not worth the risk. Hopefully, he's retired. read more

Dr. Lorimer was pleasant and gave me a diagnosis right away. I gave 3 * for the system at the clinic. They got a new computer system and they download xray's on it. I tried to get a second opinion from a Proliance doc and he did not accept the computer images. He only wanted a CD or hard copy, like most of my doctors. Ortho WA was not able to do that so I had to pay for an extra doctor appointment and more xray's. The receptionist and an assistant, Jerrid were wonderful in trying to help. The Ortho WA office manager was supposed to call me back but, to my knowledge, never did. I also had issues with another doctor through Ortho WA. NOTE: Dr. Lorimer had a bit different diagnosis than the second opinion doctor. Curious. I had issues with another surgeon at this same clinic and again, it cost me an extra co-pay. read more

Dr. L Kirk Lorimer botched my hammer toe surgery. My Problem - The 3rd toe (middle toe) on my left foot was slightly overlapping my 4th toe (fore toe). The toenail on the 4th toe was pressing against the 3rd toe which caused pain when walking. Oct. 14, 2021 - 1st Appointment - X rays were taken of my left foot. Dr. Lorimer said I had hammer toe in my 3rd, 4th and 5th toes and he recommended surgery on the three toes in order to straighten them. Nov. 12, 2021 - Surgery Day - The surgery, under local anesthetic, lasted half an hour. I was given a post-op surgery boot for my left foot. Nov. 16, 2021 - 1st Appointment After Surgery - My three toes were swollen and painful. Dr. Lorimer instructed me to take Ibuprofen for pain, keep my foot elevated, and apply ice. Dec. 17, 2021 - 2nd Appointment After Surgery - Thirty days later. I still had a lot of swelling and pain in all three toes. I was still wearing the post-op surgery boot. Dr. Lorimer instructed me to take the maximum dose of Ibuprofen for ten days. Jan. 5, 2022 - 3rd Appointment After Surgery - I still had a lot of swelling and pain in all three toes. I was still wearing the post-op surgery boot. Dr. Lorimer injected cortisone into my 3rd and 4th toes to reduce the swelling. Jan.12, 2022 - 4th Appointment After Surgery - I still had a lot of swelling and pain in all three toes. I was still wearing the post-op surgery boot. Dr. Lorimer said to wait 30 days and then a decision could be made as to whether or not to have a second surgery on my 4th toe to straighten it. He said a temporary pin could be inserted during surgery in order to keep the toe straight. Maybe a pin should have been inserted during the first surgery to keep the toe straight? Feb. 16, 2022 - 5th Appointment After Surgery - It has been over three months since my surgery. I am still wearing the post-op surgery boot because of pain. My 3rd toe is still swollen, mostly in the joint area and it is painful. The 3rd toe is stiff with little mobility. The 4th toe (my problem toe) isn't swollen any longer, but it looks more crooked than it was before the surgery. Just a little pain in the 4th toe now. The 5th toe is straight, but it is still swollen. There is no pain in the 5th toe. Dr. Lorimer said surgery could be performed a second time on my 3rd and 4th toes to straighten them. With a temporary pin inserted into the 4th toe. I am currently looking for a new podiatrist surgeon. read more

Dr. Lorimer is an exceptional Dr. I have fractured 2 bones in the span of 4 months. He is kind and really takes time with you to explain in detail what your issue is. I am really impressed with Dr. Lorimer. A few years back I was dealing with serious plantar fasciitis issues and after just two visits, he helped me get over my issues. He showed me how to stretch at home, made special orthotics for my foot, gave me a prescription for the intense pain I was feeling and suggested the brand and style of athletic shoes I should wear that would specifically help support my foots shape. That was 3 years ago and I'm still going strong! Recently my husband rolled his foot on vacation and needed to see someone to help get over the pain. I immediately thought of Dr. Lorimer who was just as kind, charismatic and professional and I remember him to be. He was up front with the care, didn't waste our time and made it clear he wasn't about to run tests just to charge our insurance when it wasn't really needed. He even refunded our co-pay once it was determined someone at the front desk misinformed us about seeing the hubby for a knee issue at the same time. Podiatrists only work on feet so I should have listened to my instinct but just "assumed" I was being told correctly. He made it right without hesitation which is really decent of him. Bottom line is that we will never need to go elsewhere for all things related to our feet and you won't either, trust me on this one. read more

I visited Dr. Kirk Lorimer at the Bellevue facility and I wasn't impressed at all. He provided some tips about why my foot was hurting me but he didn't recommended any special treatment. He suggested to schedule another appointment to see my sport shoes so I wrongly assumed that that was part of the current visit. He charged me $200 for the first visit and $150 for the second one, besides $100 of X-rays. According to my insurance he billed different amounts but I paid what he requested and be sure I won´t see him again. Unsatisfied with the service and the rip-off. read more

Good DR, He did 3 foot surgery on my cyist in my right foot BUT I can no longer see him because he will not take WA State health insurance I lost my old insurance under American Airlines when my husband retired 3 years ago Pissed as hell. I love Dr. Lorimer. I've been having plantar fasciitis for about three years now and went to see him after deciding the pain had to go. Dr. Lorimer sat down with me and we talked in-depth about my issues and I found him to be knowledgeable and personable. He was also very warm and kind to my little boy, who accompanied me to my appointment. Dr. Lorimer ordered x-rays (something which the other doctor I saw at a facility in Vancouver skipped) and found I had two massive bone spurs on my feet. We talked about my options, from conservative to extreme, and I felt confident in making a decision because of the information he'd given me. Dr. Lorimer was kind and helpful when I came to him after years of pain from ingrown toenails on both feet. I came to him when I realized I couldn't handle the pain and inconvenience I was going through on a daily basis. Dr. Lorimer explained that bone spurs were causing the toenails to deform which in turn caused the ingrown toenails. He gave me options on how to move forward and we scheduled surgery right there on the first visit. Less than a month later, and I just had my final visit. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Lorimer. Not only is he a talented doctor, but very kind and sincerly interested in his patient's well being. I have been going to his office for years and have always had a positive experience. I am a runner and depend on my feet being in good condition, I trust Dr. Lorimer to take care of them. On occasion my kids have to tag along with me for my visits and they love him. I went in for an ingrown toenail and was in and out quickly and have never had a problem with it again which was wonderful because it was very painful! Check around for one with better ratings. I don't think my foot will ever feel normal again, and fitting into a normal shoe may not happen. All I needed was a corn removed and he took so much bone the toe now sits straight and significantly widens my foot. That toe is numb on the top section, crazy short and no longer curves to fit properly into the toe section of shoes. read more

Dr Lorimer is superb! I had to have a few of my toenails removed and he has such a delicate and efficient technique. He is also a very caring person, he could tell I was having some anxiety and was telling goofy jokes/stories to make me feel better and put me at ease during procedure. Bellevue office was able to squeeze me in on short notice. has great parking with handicapped spots right in front, is on the Metro B line for bus riders. He also has a Kirkland office. I had a toe repaired in late November 2013. Ever since then I cannot wear normal shoes, my toe is strait like a stick and still gets purple and puffy at times. I went back couple of times but all I was told that he doesn't know why my toe is like this. One of those two times he didn't even look at my toe!!!!i wish I went to a different doctor. read more

I have sent patients to Dr L for years. When I had a foot issue, it was an easy choice. He had always taken good care of my patients so I went with full confidence. I have run for years but a painful foot problem had caused me to reduce and at last quit. Dr L has been a runner so he understood my foot and emotional pain. I visited Dr. Kirk Lorimer in April'2016, Go to this Doctor only if you want pay huge amount towards Outpatient Fee, X-Rays, Inserts which is not covered in your insurance. I have Premera Blue Cross which is like the best insurance with maximum coverage and I specifically asked if there's any out of pocket expenses for the Foot Inserts, I was told it's around $250 and 90% is covered by the insurance and then I get a huge bill for $528.36 for Foot Inserts, Outpatient charges and X-Ray's. When I called back, they said that's the statement amount that I have to pay them, I was totally shocked and disappointed by this and I'm glad I canceled all the future appointments. Will never go to this Doctor again. And Finally, Did the Doctor treat well ? He had no idea what was causing the foot pain and just trying the Foot Inserts to start with so I don't know how many more visits I had to make and how much money I had to spend to find out the cause of the pain. Three years ago, I fell down the stairs in my house and shattered the 5th metatarcil bone. Ultimately, it was in about 8 pieces, but it took Dr Lorimer to get real with me and actually be willing to repair it. I went to two other doctors, who commented that I should walk on it and "hope for the best" at my age, and then if "it doesn't heal right after 9 weeks, then we will operate". I had seen the x-rays myself and could not figure out what they were thinking because I could see it was in pieces and would never heal right. Turns out that both doctors also made their decision based on the fact that I was 50 years old and NOT an elite athlete because that was important information to them. I decided to try the last doctor on my insurance company approved list, Dr. Lorimer. Not only did he put humpty dumpty back together again, but I was saved 10 more weeks on crutches with his willingness to do what was best for the foot immediately rather than wait to see if it would heal ok. He was willing to do what was best for the foot and NOT what would get me by "at my age". I no sooner got back into a shoe and 1 week later, just before Christmas, I stepped in a hole at a home, and broke the same bone in the other foot! Not shattered this time, but it was displaced enough that I was in surgery again the day after Christmas. Both feet are perfect! No pain, no swelling, no change in shape or difficulty getting into shoes. I have since had to have him take the screws out because they were backing out (a normal possibility with foot surgery - I also had bunion surgery years ago and had to have those screws removed as well). The doctor was a no pressure doctor, left the ultimate decision to me in terms of surgery or waiting, but as a teacher, I could not be non-weight bearing on crutches for possibly 18 weeks. The doctor has since seen other family members and has provided good, quality care for all of us. I am very glad I found him and will continue to recommend him to friends and family. read more
