Exceptional food and service!…read more I got spring rolls and bun bo hue, both with tofu. The bun bo hue was DELICIOUS - flavorful, not oily, right amount of spicy, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. It was a nice surprise to have a good authentic Vietnamese meal in Brussels that is better than New York City. If I lived here, I'd be a regular. It appears to be a husband and wife owned business - hubby runs the front and wifey runs the kitchen. It is made to order, so it takes some time for the food, but you won't mind after that first bite nom nom NOM.

Some of these dishes I haven't had since visiting Hanoi a few years ago. And boy did this bring me back. I could easily pack it all up and move to Hanoi. The people, the food, the countryside. Well considering how many Vietnamese places are in the Bay Area, this one in Brussels, is the one that rekindled the smells the tastes and ambiance of being in Hanoi, minus the miniature plastic tables and stools made for kids.) not phat ass American hynies) Nem oh Nem! Roasted pork, wrapped with sprouts scallions, carrots, and vermicelli over a rice wrapper then deep fried. Eaten wrapped in a bit of lettuce Thai basil dunked in fish sauce. Damn!!!!!!! Service a bit slow as there is only one guy for the whole shop. But man! 2 legit 2 quit!

If I could rate half a star, or none, believe me I would. My friend and I are from Hawaii, and eat…read morephô there quite often. We initially wanted to eat at the place next door, but for whatever reason it was closed. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by a woman who I can only assume was the owner. She asked us how many people, I told her 2, she pointed at an open table and we sat down. After browsing through the menu for about 10 minutes, we were ready to order. It took her another 10 or so to stop at our table. The restaurant was busy, but not to the point where she didn't have a spare moment to stop at the Vietnamese and Chinese customers to talk with them...which she did. When I ordered, I pointed to what I wanted (#3 phô with beef balls and tenderloin), and as I flipped to the back where the drinks were located, she slapped my hand and scolded me in French, I'm assuming saying something along the lines of, "I couldn't read it. Wait!" She then flipped the menu back to the page where the phô was listed and wrote down my order. She asked if I wanted a small or big, I told her petite (small). After taking my friend' order, I also asked her for an orange juice, which she brought right away. Probably the only positive thing I can say about this entire experience. We waited patiently for our food, and I noticed that all the other customers who ordered phô had received a plate of fresh vegetables, which is customary, yet I hadn't received anything. When the food finally arrived, my friend politely asked her for more of the hoisin sauce because our bottle was practically empty. She scolded my friend and said that the sauce was only for phô dishes and she would bring more sauce once we used it all. So that's exactly what I did. No surprise she never returned with more sauce or a new bottle. We began eating and as I pulled the meat out of the bowl, I noticed a hair sandwiched between the layers of beef. I was already a few bites in but immediately spit out what was in my mouth and didn't touch the rest of the meal. My friend also commented that her food was mediocre as well. When she finally noticed that, although our bowls were quite full, but we weren't going to eat anymore, she finally brought the check. She had charged me for a large bowl of phô and not a small like I had ordered. At that point, we were just fed up with everything about the entire dining experience and paid exact change just so we could leave as soon as possible. I would NOT recommend his restaurant. Went with a friend who lives in Brussels. She had been here a few times and said the food was…read morepretty good. The food was OK. I had some kind of rice dish with chicken in it and this tasted like it should have, but bland at the same time. (Yeah, I sometimes like bland food!) This was actually a Vietnamese dish, since the restaurant is both Vietnamese and Chinese. As a starter, we had a spring roll; a cold one, wrapped in something resembling cling film that you wrap your left-overs in. This was pretty tasty though. I should have gotten several of these. The worst thing was that the lady, probably one of the owners but also a waitress, was freakin' rude! I put soy sauce on my food and she yelled at me, telling me I'm not supposed to do that. I told her that when she buys me the dish, then I will eat it the way she wants me to. Also my friend's order was wrong. She's a vegetarian and the noodle dish the lady brought was beef. "Youordered that," she said. "You said number 35 (or whichever number)!" The lady was full of shit because the dish was ordered by its name and not a number. I was hungry and the food filled a hole but don't think I'll be going back there again. Its close to the Bourse and there are loads of Asian restaurants in that area, so there are better ones to choose from. If you're going to be rude to customers and you want them to come back, then your food better be outstanding!

The restaurant itself is located in a hip neighborhood with many other restaurants nearby, with minimal car traffic (Not sure where you park). The interior is not the largest, but it does offer a peace and tranquility with a fair amount of seating. The staff that greeted and served us during the meal was quite friendly and quick in terms of help and serving food. The menu itself is English friendly along with a few other languages, which is a plus! While I was not starving, I did not opt for any appetizers sadly, but they looked delicious. We ended up getting a large bowl of Tom Yum and Pad Thai. The restaurant was not too busy as it just had opened, but the food came out within 20 or so minutes, so I figured it would not be too bad (Quick food out of the kitchen worries me, not gonna lie). As mentioned initially, the flavors were unique, not what I was used to in regards to the Tom Yum, but that does not take away from the flavor at all as it was quite good. Serving size was quite large, enough to make me feel better about not ordering an appetizer. As for the Pad Thai, my travel partner mentioned it hit the spot and again they gave her a TON of it. Finally, price wise, do not expect to drop too much in terms of cash as it was very fair for the city and proximity to downtown. Well worth it if you are in need of some Thai goodness.
