It gets a cheaper rating but I thought the prices were very comparable to the other boulangeries in the neighborhood.Again they had great croissants (I tried them at every boulangerie we visited) and their large macaron "sandwiches" were also delicious (although not my MOST favorite of the ones we tried in Paris). This place was also just a few steps from our apartment so we visited it a lot as well. None of the women that served us during the week spoke English but again, you don't need much in a boulangerie. The service was always friendly and efficient. Often this place was busy but service was quick. No outdoor seating, and they were open until 8pm which was awesome. Later in the day you'll find that pastries and bread are not as fresh but even though we got macaron "sandwiches" at 7pm and they seemed a little damp from the fresh fruit in them, the taste was delicious. The outer shells of the macarons were slightly tough but the overall texture wasn't bad. the berries (we tried frambriose and fraise, or raspberry and strawberry) were incredibly fresh and tasty. I'm sure if we had purchased them earlier in the day they would have been even better. We also had the coffee eclairs and they were amazing!!! I don't care that much for eclairs as I do no like the type of bread used for them, but these were good enough that I'd get them again. The filling was rich and the coffee taste was outstanding.

Earlier in the day I was at a bakery that claimed to be the 4th or 5th best bakery in Paris and they definitely delivered! Comparing this places baguette to the bakery from earlier in the day I would have to say this place has a better crust but doesn't have the soft buttery interior the other baguette had. Don't get me wrong it was still fantastic but I definitely liked the other place better. Funny enough I realized that I had been to this bakery years prior after I ate their bread :) Thank you France for making the worlds best bread so that I could enjoy on this trip.

Loved our table but the only way for the inside people to get out to go to the bathroom or something was to move the entire table, which made it a bit tricky. But heck, we're here for their steak and frites! And we ordered their smaller sized steak with fries that was part of their lunch combo as well as one order of their original steak au poivre. They both used the same amazing pepper sauce but the cut of the meat was slightly different. We ordered the meat medium and the meat was very tender. The steak itself was not the type where it melts in your mouth good but I think the star of this dish is their amazing pepper sauce. Man, I ended up licking the plate in the end. It was so good. The appetizers and the desserts were also good but really, the pepper sauce is what you come here for. I am definitely coming back. For that sauce.

The first thing you notice is that some of the shelves are quite empty. I don't know if this i because we visited early in the morning, or if it's like this all the time. As a french bakery should have, Valentina sell croissants, the sweet pain au chocolat and the "one-thing-to-buy" when you're in France; macarons. Don't worry, they also have baguettes, home baked bread, and a lot of other sweets. The staff don't speak to much english, but is very helpful! The most disappointing thing with this shop, was the good looking macaron stand in the storefront, with macarons in all the colors you could imagine. Inside, they only had 4-5 different colors. When you're visiting a french bakery for macarons, you're eager to buy all the fantastic good looking colors, but don't worry the ones they had tasted very good! There is one thing all tourist should be aware of, they only take french credit cards, so be sure to bring some euros!

The food was amazing, and the quiche was hands down the best we had anywhere around the world.
