It gets a cheaper rating but I thought the prices were very comparable to the other boulangeries in the neighborhood.Again they had great croissants (I tried them at every boulangerie we visited) and their large macaron "sandwiches" were also delicious (although not my MOST favorite of the ones we tried in Paris). This place was also just a few steps from our apartment so we visited it a lot as well. None of the women that served us during the week spoke English but again, you don't need much in a boulangerie. The service was always friendly and efficient. Often this place was busy but service was quick. No outdoor seating, and they were open until 8pm which was awesome. Later in the day you'll find that pastries and bread are not as fresh but even though we got macaron "sandwiches" at 7pm and they seemed a little damp from the fresh fruit in them, the taste was delicious. The outer shells of the macarons were slightly tough but the overall texture wasn't bad. the berries (we tried frambriose and fraise, or raspberry and strawberry) were incredibly fresh and tasty. I'm sure if we had purchased them earlier in the day they would have been even better. We also had the coffee eclairs and they were amazing!!! I don't care that much for eclairs as I do no like the type of bread used for them, but these were good enough that I'd get them again. The filling was rich and the coffee taste was outstanding.

Earlier in the day I was at a bakery that claimed to be the 4th or 5th best bakery in Paris and they definitely delivered! Comparing this places baguette to the bakery from earlier in the day I would have to say this place has a better crust but doesn't have the soft buttery interior the other baguette had. Don't get me wrong it was still fantastic but I definitely liked the other place better. Funny enough I realized that I had been to this bakery years prior after I ate their bread :) Thank you France for making the worlds best bread so that I could enjoy on this trip.

This instantly became my favorite. I also like the rest of their cakes and desserts, so don't be afraid to try any of those. The only thing that I suggest you find somewhere else to try is their macarons. They were OKAY at best. The steak was perfectly cooked, the pepper sauce was excellent, and the dessert was a great finish. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. Unfortunately, the service completely changed the experience.Before coming, I'd seen on their Instagram and in several reviews that they serve complimentary gougères. I politely asked our waitress about them, and she gave me a smirk and walked away without answering. She never came back. I eventually asked another server, who immediately brought them over, so it clearly wasn't an unreasonable request. I've traveled to Paris several times and had never experienced the stereotypical rude Parisian service until this meal. It wasn't about the bread. It was the dismissive attitude that made us feel unwelcome. For a restaurant that's this difficult to book and has such an international reputation, I expected better hospitality. Great food alone isn't enough when the service leaves you feeling like you're an inconvenience. There are too many excellent bistros in Paris where you can enjoy both outstanding food and genuinely warm service.

We had a lunch reservation (call in advance) although they weren't super busy then. They tend to be busy for dinner so definitely arrive early or reserve in advance. We were torn between the Tartare de Boeuf and Filet de Boeuf au Poivre de Sarawak and ended up getting both. The Beef Tartare was fresh, flavorful, and bright. It could have been colder (temperature-wise) but I particularly liked the horseradish flavor and the fresh herbs incorporated into the tartare. The fries & salad complemented this exceptionally well! The dressing of the salad was super light yet just the right amount of citrus to cut through the meat taste. The Filet de Boeuf au Poivre was a good try. It's a very buttery and peppery sauce, and the filet was cooked to a perfect medium. I think it's a bit expensive for what it is but I did enjoy it. I appreciate that they gave us free Gougères (cheese puffs) to start and Canelés (pastry) to end. The biggest surprise was the Coke Zero costing €9! I was completely shocked. You're better off getting a wine or beer for a fraction of the price. Glad we could start our Paris trip at this institution that is almost on every top list. Good try!

The first thing you notice is that some of the shelves are quite empty. I don't know if this i because we visited early in the morning, or if it's like this all the time. As a french bakery should have, Valentina sell croissants, the sweet pain au chocolat and the "one-thing-to-buy" when you're in France; macarons. Don't worry, they also have baguettes, home baked bread, and a lot of other sweets. The staff don't speak to much english, but is very helpful! The most disappointing thing with this shop, was the good looking macaron stand in the storefront, with macarons in all the colors you could imagine. Inside, they only had 4-5 different colors. When you're visiting a french bakery for macarons, you're eager to buy all the fantastic good looking colors, but don't worry the ones they had tasted very good! There is one thing all tourist should be aware of, they only take french credit cards, so be sure to bring some euros!
