Y'ALL this place is a chill vibe and a half. I love an unsuspecting hole-in-the-wall that serves up great, affordable drinks. Once inside, it looks a bit like an underground cave with long wooden benches and tables set up. To keep you entertained, they have a pool table up front and a projector screen in the back. Is it a bit messy? Sure, but that's what makes up part of its character. We ordered the sangria and sangria de cava both nights. While the sangria put up a good fight, I thought the real winner was the liter of sangria de cava. It's like a mimosa on steroids. Delicious! I recommend coming a bit earlier in the night if you want seating, as it does get very crowded later on. We ended up standing at a barrel for most of the second night. Cool spot that offers several different vibes. As you walk in, you see a wide open hall bustling with young Catalonians (or Spaniards, depending on who you talk to) all drinking San Miguel lager beer. This is the only beer they serve in the main hall. You can actually purchase a five liter of San Miguel beer to share with your friends. I would say the crowd is quite young, college aged to young professionals. There is also a section up the stairs that resembles a cage with pool tables and bar games. Downstairs, you enter the craft beer lounge that has music videos playing on a projector and is more of a relaxed vibe. While I was there, they had Founders and Nomad on tap, along with sangria. This place was a blast. I went with my friends and we ended up sitting right next to some people from minnesota. Small world! We ordered a 5L sangria for 7 people and it was perfect. They give you some popcorn as a small snack but it's best to order some food like the nachos because you're drinking so much. I'd come back here again. They so have a pool table and a foosball table. I don't see the appeal of this place?! There were so many good reviews, we decided to go and find it. It's in a little alley way and if you're not careful, you'll walk by it. The place is dive-ish (is that even a word?) and the menu is handwritten on a chalk board which seemed like someone attempted to erase it so we couldn't really read it. The drinks weren't bad but a little pricey for a pitcher of sangria, considering we've had it for cheaper throughout Spain. We ordered some tapas with the bread and some popcorn and cheese. Nothing impressive. There was a lack of places to sit so we shared a table with a couple who sat on the other end, facing another direction. read more

L'Ovella Negra aka Black Sheep is a nice place to go sit down for a beer but not much more. The place is spacious but almost always so packed that the noise level gets really high for a bar without background music. There are pool tables and darts but if you are not early in the bar, you may have to wait for a good while for your turn. The prices are fair, you can get a big "torre" pitcher for the table and you always get free popcorn. God I love this bar. My first experience at this bar was in 1989 when I spent a summer backpacking across Europe and stopped in Barcelona for a week of drinking... Every evening we would wander up las Ramblas from the most excellent youth hostel that we were staying in, and toodle through the market grab up some quick snack and head to the bar. The inside is done in rough stone work and it's kind of dark. There are a couple pool tables and long wooden tables and benches. Bartender keeps the beers just flowing. I have been lucky enough to come back four times since then and it never seems to change. You get a loud raucous fun college age crowd mixed together with people from the neighborhood. Earlier there will be people that get off of work and have a few drinks on their way home, the later it gets to the serious partiers. You'll find yourself singing along to songs you don't know with people you've never seen before. What's not to like? If I lived in Barcelona this would be my go to bar. If you ever get out that way you need to try it! read more

Everyone is having a good time and it can get really crazy in here (when people are finishing their towers....). You are totally underground, there are no windows. Really neat place. You enter though a small door that leads underground. From the size of the door one would think that this place was small, but it opens up to an underground, old Spainish bar. Think of stone walls and wooden benches, almost like in Road to El Dorado. Definitely stick to the sangria. Regular sangria is fantastic, but sangria de cava is exactly where it's at. Sangria de cava is more orange and citrus-y. They have hard alcohol and they make their drinks really strong. Thats awesome, but it can be a little much. FREE POPCORN and REFILLS! enough said. A ton of young people from all over the world hang out there and the drinks are priced accordingly. Please try the panther's milk (leche de pantera) its condenses milk and rum with cinnamon on top. Love it here! First discovered it in 2007 when I was backpacking through Europe with friends - a local girl had told us about their amazing sangria and we were sold. Fast forward to 2014 and I'm so happy that this place is still there and just as great as I remembered. We were a group of 14 but managed to snag a table in the corner. The bar is laid back and close to Las Ramblas, but not silly crowded and while I'm sure most of the people were tourists, it didn't seem that way. You can order these 5L mini taps of Sangria or Beer for about €30 which are great for groups. They also have popcorn!!! I'd definitely recommend you check this place out if you're in town! read more

Visited Barcelona in August with my boyfriend. We were looking for a place to go out our first night in town which happened to be a Monday night. Thanks to Yelp we found L'Ovella Negra. It is right off Las Ramblas but still slightly tucked away. You walk into what looks like a brick cave. There is lots of space to move around and tables to sit at. We ordered a pitcher at the bar and sat at a table to drink. The tables were all filled but it was not super packed. I'm guessing the weekends get much busier. They have a pool table, darts and a few other games. They also serve these large tubes of sangria or beer which are great for a large group. Overall this is a great spot for an off night or just a night where you wanna go out to the bars. Definitely not a dancing/club type place. read more

My friend and I grabbed a few beers here (San Miguels, I might add) and enjoyed ourselves. The beers are a little pricier than other places (broke college students looking for 2 euro beers), but I am willing to pay the extra price for the atmosphere and the bar's by Ramblas.
