I'm going to echo other reviews in saying that it's just okay. Not terrible but not amazing either…read more
The hostess didn't offer to seat us outside or give us the choice between a booth and a table. After walking through the entire restaurant and realizing there was a lot of booths available (our personal preference), we asked to switch and had to awkwardly walk back and watch her prepare another table. Not a huge deal, but a little lacking in customer care.
There is an extensive menu ranging from several eggs Benedict's variations to many versions of a classic breakfasts, multiple pancakes and French toasts options and a number of healthy breakfast items. The food, however, is simply nothing special. It also took a bit of time which made me wonder if I could've just made it at home myself. The answer: not quite because morning reasons, but almost.
The scrambled eggs were over cooked, which frankly is on par with the average breakfast place (seriously, why is it so hard to get good scrambled eggs?)
The chili, however, was quite good and pairs nicely with their potato rösti, which was also good, albeit a bit thin/small for my taste.
The waitress mistakenly ordered a pancake instead of French toast but graciously corrected the mistake. The French toast was not worth the extra wait. Most plates come with warm cinnamon apples which I really liked. Also, the fruits on the plate were very fresh which is nice.
I think the plates are a bit smaller than the average breakfast place which I personally don't mind as I find they are usually way too large, resulting in overeating and still ending up wasting food. I ordered one of their smaller egg/ham plate with an extra French toast and I was full. My breakfast mates ordered larger plates and half of them didn't touch the toasts because they were full.
Prices are fair. There is a small patio in the parking lot. We got there around 10:30 on a Saturday, didn't have to wait. When we left around noon there was a fairly long lineup.
Overall, this place feels more like a 2.5 stars but I rounded it up because there is nothing really offensive about this place, and the chili is actually quite good.
