During my year as a client, I was repeatedly asked to send documents though I was never given the log in. I was told several times I would have it in a day or two, it was never provided. Upon my first annual taxes, the SLS office waited until the last minute before completing my returns though I had all my paperwork in the office in February. This further delayed my refunds. The SLS office would "gross up" my wages and do the paperwork for my quarterly tax deposits. The first time this was done I was only provided my paperwork a day or two before postmark deadline! I advised the office this was unacceptable and I should have this package with more than a day or two to spare. Throughout my time as a client at SLS I NEVER received this quarterly package more than a couple days in advance despite my request. I would go out of my way to email my payroll figures to the office in advance, and still get a delayed package in the mail too close to deadline again. Upon ending my relationship with SLS I asked for my "retainer" back and was advised I would have to wait until their monthly billing cycle as those are the "billing terms." When I was originally asked for the deposit I provided it without delay. I supplied legitimate reasons for being disappointed with SLS and requested my money back, and was told to wait. This is the perfect example of bad customer service/client retention. This office has a simple pattern, they do everything at their own pace. Your time, your schedule, your needs are not important. I am not pointing out other issues I had with SLS as to not make the reader feel I'm being overly critical. This was a very bad decision and I will be much more careful when selecting and accounting firm.

I trust Steve's advise because I have confidence that it is based on his knowledge and experience with a particular subject, not a guess. I have trusted Steve with my taxes for almost two decades.
