Speechless! This was my first time at this event. Luckily, I have citi bank and they were part of this art show, therefore I was able to score some free premiere night tickets for free! & got access to all days for only $30! I uploaded a video and one of my favorite art pieces! I was lucky enough to meet the artist, Ola Rondiak. Such a beautiful person with positive energy, her radiance shows in the picture!

Experience: Grateful experience. Was gifted tickets and a short tour with one of the artist. This is my second major art show that I've attended, if I compare it to Art Miami, it was just okay. I wouldn't go out of my way to attend unless I want to support a specific artist or gallery/showroom/museum. With art it all comes down to preference, there was a mix of modern, contemporary, objective, etc. I lean more towards large fixtures or installations that I can engage with (walk through, touch, etc.), there wasn't much of it. Mostly photography, paintings, sculptures, some video performances. Overall, I still appreciated all the artists and exhibitors there. Location & parking: The show was located at the convention center in DTLA. I arrived 45 minutes before the show to find parking at eat. This was more of a hassle. Found a parking after twenty minutes 3 blocks from the center, right by a Mexican restaurant whose name I forgot. Luckily squeezed into a space that didn't have any meter or time restriction. Got lucky. Vibes: It was pretty crowded, it was smack in the middle of the afternoon, around 1pm that I arrived. Not much space to enjoy and fully take in a piece. Always fun to see all the unique attire and ways people socialize in these spaces. It can turn someone away if they aren't used to visiting museums or galleries. I also like how affordable it is, I believe tickets started at $30 for a day pass. It's inviting and available to all people. Tip: Before you buy yourself a ticket, read about the show and what kind of art to expect. Get there towards the opening so you can enjoy some of these spaces to yourself before the rush. I give it a 4 only because I got to be part of a special tour through DIVERSEartLA, which focuses on civic engagement and awareness. I got to meet other artist and get a better understanding of how a non-profit collaborates with this entity in this space.

I love the LA Art Show. This is the third year in a row that I have attended. This year, however, they increased the ticket price from $20 to $30 per person for general admission. I like the fact that there is art from all over the globe, not just local artists. This gives us the opportunity to view the art trends in Asia, for instance. You can also get up close and personal, and take pictures of the artwork. There is so much art in one place that you can spend half a day here, appreciating the brush strokes of the paintings, the intended meaning behind the photographs, or wondering how sculptures were created. There are booths where the artist is still creating, and you have the opportunity to observe. And yes, you can take selfies to your heart's content.

I look forward to this show every year. It's a dream for those who love art. A wide variety and range of different concepts. Many of the artists are on site from all different parts of the world, and are excited to tell you about their work. There's music, food, and shows as well. Highly recommended.

This was my first time at the LA Art Show. I enjoy art just as much as the next person but I think a one-day pass was good enough for me. Unless I'm looking to invest heavily in some pieces and want to revisit the pieces I'm considering, I felt one day at the show was good enough for me! There were a great variety of artwork and in all different mediums. There were the Picasso's, Van Gogh's and Monets...but you also had newer artists that one has never heard of. It was fun to see and it definitely gave me a sense of what I enjoyed and what I didn't. Parking was tough since it looked like the show was sharing space with some cheerleading function. But ultimately, we found a spot that wasn't too far away from the entrance ($20). Refreshments are pricey so be aware. There was no shortage of seating though it helped if you had some sort of VIP access. I really was quite proud of myself (husband was relieved) that I walked away without buying anything. I was slightly tempted a few times but ultimately was just happy to have seen so much creativity. I may just have to check it out next year!

It was my 4th time going there and still love it!! Many impressive & variety artworks! It is right in the LA Convention Center next to Staples Center. Their parking are expensive, maybe $20 or more depends on their pricing for specific date. I suggest take LA metro is better; get off at Pico Station with either Blue Line. Only less than 5 mins walk from Pico Station to LA convention center. They do have security check so better not bring big backpack or many stuffs. They have many public bathrooms and they are well cleaned. Included some seats for people to rest little; can bring water bottles & light snack, not other drinks.

A MUST DO! Groupon had Discount Tickets for The LA Art Show @ The Convention Center in DTLA. I have to say the Art Work was IMPRESSIVE but the model in the Covid Vaccination Orange Vinyl Dress with a matching Dr. Fauci pocketbook stole the show. She had the whole crowd doing a double take & smiling & laughing. Doesn't matter if you are for or against vaccines she had everyone's heads turning. Great Job! The artists used so many different kinds of mediums to express their artistic creations. There was painting, 3D artwork, Sculptures, Digital Art, Recycked Pieces, Traditional to Contemporary & even Jewelry. There was Lots of inspirational pieces to get some great ideas & people were buying up pieces as well. Even Andy Warhol had a creative space. If you missed it, be sure to check it out next year. It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really Rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget!

The Los Angeles Art Show is a great event where the attendees are presented with the opportunity to view the art of both up-and-coming and established artists alike -- all in one location. The Los Angeles Art Show is presented yearly at the L.A. Convention Center. It is housed in one of the Convention Center's large wings so there is always a ton of galleries showing their wares from across the globe. For the art lover, it is truly an awesome experience. From a personal perspective, I have been attending every year since it launched in '97 and, in fact, prior to that back into the 1980s before it was rebranded. I have never been disappointed. There is a wide variety of art that will suit every taste. If there is a downside to The Los Angeles Art Show it is that some of the art dealers can be pretty heavy-handed. I realize that is their job to sell the art they represent but it can be a bit disconcerting when the dealers come-up and latch themselves onto you trying to make a sale. It can ruin the entire experience of viewing the art in their booth. But, that is just one of the by-products of The Los Angeles Art Show. I'm just telling you this so you can be prepared. Overall GREAT event! If you love to see new and inspiring art, this is the place to go.

LA Art Show 2016 was really fun! So many different genres of art, so many different interpretations... The Art Show is hosted in LA Convention Center in DTLA. Paid parking lots all over the place, we found one lot for $15 flat rate. Admission is $20 at the door, but you can purchase online for $15 or even less if you snatch a Groupon deal. I luckily found that Groupon deal AND had a 20% off promo code, so paid $16 for me and the boyfriend. Yeee. The Art Show itself was hugeeee. If you really want to see everything it can take between 3-5 hours. We whizzed past the art pieces that we weren't that into, and managed to go around the entire place within 3 hours. I would say it's hard to describe all the different art pieces, but it went from beautiful oil paintings to real-live humans lying on a patch of flowers. Another interesting one was a girl wearing her undies/bra enclosed in a see-through box, all the while texting on her phone and the screen was available for us to see on the wall. Definitely some creative stuff. Alcoholic drinks and snacks available for purchase. I think I would want to come back next year, but depends. It was fun, but not 5 star worthy!

Bought the deal on Livingsocial for $10 (one day admission) The Show: Great artists coming from all over the world. Lots of pictures taking opportunity. Majority of the art works are for sale. It is great to be able to meet with the artists in person. There are a few seminars of different topics about art each day. Very informative. The Food & Beverage: There are a few bars and one coffee stand in the showroom. They also sell sandwiches and hot food. Lots of seating areas. The Parking: Found a parking lot ($5) on Pico & Hope. Next to the metro station.

I've been to a few of these over the years and while it can be crazy sensory overload it's always a good time. I prefer the contemporary art side to the "traditional" art side but it felt like there were some pretty modern-looking things over there too. The quality of the art is mostly really good and I like the festive, free-for-all atmosphere--makes the art feel more accessible, I think. There were some cool installation and performance projects as well--really something for everyone! Several bars and seating areas throughout so you can rest your dogs and wet your whistle while you peruse the arts. It's not that expensive, either; I got half off tickets through Groupon ($10) and apparently as it got closer they were even giving free tickets away, so I think it's really worth checking out. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Good way to spend an afternoon if you're an art lover (or even just a liker).

    Michael L.

What a great show. I'm very glad I came. Although there were a lot of people there I still felt like I was in a museum taking in the beautiful art and sculptures. The seminars were informative and the live demonstrations were simply spectacular. I'm not much into modern art. I'm more of a baroque & impressionist guy so I was glad to see some of Monet and Rembrandt there. I was thoroughly engrossed in those booths and for those precious minutes it was just their art and me in the room. I shall definitely return next year.

A fun little art show with a diverse group of artists. I really think their might be something for everyone. The show does lean a little heavier on the contemporary side. I like low brow art so I enjoyed the Littletopia section of the exhibit. There is also a small section with furniture & jewelry with one vendor selling vintage Chanel & Hermes handbags, be still my beating heart!! I always enjoy looking at art, so this was definitely a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

I especially didn't know art, so today I was a pure tourist in this place, and wow. So much, from the wide openness when you come in, to the smells from Manuela, to the superbly mellow chickens. And then the enormous and gorgeous gallery (an expansive exhibit from the collection of Eileen Harris Norton). The only complaint I can muster is that the bookstore is too big, you need really to spend a whole nother trip just to look through it.

It was my first time here even though they were having a 10 year anniversary party. I vaguely knew…read moreabout this place, but I abstained from going because I'm not into modern art. However, on the Time Out website I read that there would be free ice cream and biscuits and the courtyard looked amazing, so I finally decided to go. As an Angeleno my first concern is always parking. I read from previous reviewers that you could pay for valet for the onsite restaurant, Manuela, but when I looked at the menu it looked a bit expensive, so I didn't want to do that. Then I read another reviewer say they found street parking on Hewitt, but when I saw a parking enforcement car there it made me worried, so I ultimately settled on a $5 per hour lot where you could pay by text, which turned out the best since I could extend my stay through my phone when I decided to stay longer. They do trick you though because they'll open up other windows, so you have to make sure you're on the right window where you can extend, not pay for a new session altogether. The old flour mill is beautifully renovated. The exterior alone makes it look brand new. Walking in there's a long hall that leads to the amazing courtyard, but along the way you'll see exhibit rooms and a bookstore. In total I saw 2 big exhibit rooms, 1 small exhibit room, a screening room, a bookstore, and another garden off to the side in addition to the courtyard in the middle. The vibe was casual with people bringing their children and dogs, there was a live band playing salsa music, and a taco truck across the street where I bought my lunch then ate it at the courtyard which has tables and benches. As for the art itself, watching the screenings really does help because then you know what you're looking at. Like one of the pieces was a sculpture of monstrous faces on a marble pedestal. The artist explained that he saw eyes wherever there was a dot in the marble which inspired the faces on the sculpture. Since I didn't want to leave in the middle of the films or the live conversations with the artists themselves, I ended up missing out on the free ice cream, which sucked, but now I'm planning to visit Watts Towers in the future because of the film and panel afterward. It really is a nice space to visit even though I'm not a fan of modern art. At the very least this festival helped me understand some of it a little bit more.

An Art Walk in Los Angeles should be expected to be a scene where culture and artful expression…read moreknows no boundaries and embraces established techniques, modern absurdity and the limitless quanity of weird in the globe to produce what moves emotion or in other words to produce art. And my recent trip to the Downtown LA Art Walk was exactly that a collection of techniques, practices, talents, mediums, and modes of communication that came together and landed to create an amorphous experience that was shaped, like clay, to create visual and sensory craftwork. There were different galleries offering different works. I will begin this review by naming some of my favorite. There was this gallery showing photography that was enhanced, played, or showcased light and that is where I found the dinosaurs of Cabezon come to life by the angles of a camera. I clipped the picture of the drawing (art inception) and it shows a long neck dinosaur that I want to call a jirrafasuaraus but I know that is wrong, walking toward a twilight colored horizon-- where the low of the sky was orange, layered above by a lemon-yellow strip of sky, then followed a soften almost transparent orange, with the rest of the sky being a early evening blue. I could not tell that the picture was fake. I do not want to say that I thought that Jurrasic Park was real, but, the picture did make me feel that the dessert has seen dinosaurs walking toward lovely sunsets. Another favorite was a negative of a picture of what looked like a swan floating in water that was completely black, like a swan swimming on black construction paper. But the only visible parts of the swan was is feathered body, its long neck, and regal tail. I could not see its eyes, I could not see its beak, I could not see its crest up high. The swan was averting the lens of the camera and yet the beauty of the swan was evident because its pure white ruffles were silent against a black backdrop. I could continue naming the pieces I like and why, but then the artwalk would becoming an art viewing. So I will conclude that I also saw a woman wearing a ruffled vest that dragged to the floor. It was inconvenient and kind of bulky, and maybe drag dirt along the train, but this was also art. I point that out because the show attracted people with style, and style on a body, is art, as everyone knows. There was also an apartment building that opens its doors. It offered a fondue fountain, chocolate, pool table, blackjack, and a giant arcade machine where one could play spade invader or pac-man. So the engagement level of Art Walk expanded to art one could make on the spot. And if you wonder how one makes art at a pool table--- then I suggest seeing a video of a player using a stick to make a ball jump to avoid one ball and hit the other. The movement is a type of ballet jump (a piroutte) that is prompted by a stick propulsion. If that is not artistic expression, then, a person living in a glass box suspended in air above the ground isn't either. As I walked the streets of LA, I also saw a truck that had four spotlights. I have always seen events that are signaled out by spotlights but now I know that these spotlights are ambulatory, and kind of, yes, art in their own way. They rose lights to the buildings side and to the night sky. The movement was a type of dance light, and I defy anyone to prove me wrong because at its core, art can never be truly define by words because, on its own, its a visual language.

The show reflects on the histories and legacies of post-Civil War America and how they still shape conversations today. It brings together decommissioned monuments -- many of them Confederate -- alongside contemporary works that were both borrowed and newly created for this exhibition. Each state of transformation tells its own story. It forces you to look at them not as background fixtures, but as objects with weight, history, and consequence. The contrast between the historical monuments and the contemporary responses is powerful. It's not an easy exhibition, and that's the point. It invites reflection, discomfort, and dialogue.
