    Delicious tapas and great service. We were recommended this restaurant and the food, service and ambiance did not disappoint. Our server gave great recommendations. We ordered the fried cuttlefish in strips, gratin cod and red fruits and a side of potatoes. The food was spectacular and devoured every last bit on our plate. The atmosphere was also great and vibrant. I would 100% come back the next time I visit Seville.

    We stopped into this restaurant at around 12:30pm on a Wednesday after seeing rave reviews about it all over Google, and I'm glad we did. The restaurant was empty when we got there (as it was right when they opened), so we were seated immediately, but it quickly started filling up with patrons within the next fifteen minutes. The interior of the restaurant looks rustic and historic (some might say a little chintzy), with a full-service bar, lacquered wood, and colorful old paintings on the walls. Service is friendly and fun, with great recommendations. Most dishes come in a tapas (small), media (medium), or entree (large) size, so you can pick your portion. We recommend a media portion for large parties to share! Bread service is free here, and the bread itself is a nice rye-type of loaf - my tip is to save some for dipping in the sauces that you will inevitably receive with your tapas (the Spanish really know how to make a good sauce). My mom also ordered a glass of sangria, which she said was the best she had in Spain...refreshing and fruity, with just the right balance of sweetness and tartness! We started with the Alcachofas de la Plancha con Jamón (Grilled Artichokes with Spanish Ham, €3.50 for tapas portion), which were perfectly salty and briny, and the jamón with its slight crispiness added a great touch! Salpicón de Marisco con Langostinos (Langoustine and Seafood Salad, €6.50 for the media portion), which is basically a mixed seafood salad with prawns. The salad was extremely fresh-tasting, with a good portion of seafood that was well-cooked, and crunchy greens. I will say that it was heavily dressed with oil, but the acidity of the ingredients combatted the richness of the oil nicely. We also ordered the Pata Negra con Aceite Ecológico y Tomato (basically jamón ibérico on a baguette with olive oil and tomato, €11 for a loaf). Though this seems like a simple dish, it is bursting with flavors and textures, from the richness of the oil to the saltiness of the jamón to the cleanness of the tomato...my dad remarked that this was one of the best bites of food he has had in Spain! Next, we ordered the Barriga de Atun con Salmorejo (Tuna Belly in Brine, €7 for media portion). The tuna belly was delectably fatty and tender, practically melting in my mouth, and the salty brine sauce that it's served in complements the richness of the fish perfectly. We also ordered the Presa Ibérica Corte Serrano (traditional Spanish grilled pork, €16.50) served with potatoes and Padrón peppers. The pork was juicy and tender, grilled to perfection and well-seasoned, and the potatoes were roasted to a nice crisp with a soft interior and served with a smoky sauce (similar to Patatas Bravas). Of course, the Padrón peppers always add a nice touch! The Calamar Entero de la Plancha (whole grilled calamari) was also delicious - we were given a generous portion of calamari for €23! The calamari retained the perfect amount of bite, and it was served with a well-dressed, delightfully crunchy salad with a good amount of citrus. All in all, we had a wonderful meal at la Bodega de la Alfalfa...with delicious food, kind service, and affordable prices for large portions, this is a wonderful stop to get your tapas fix in Sevilla!

    Popular place per google reviews. It was very busy when we stopped by, there was a wait list to dine. If you want tapas you can order and dine at the bar or any of the high tables. It was extremely hard to get the server's attention to place an order. Our server was quite grumpy and tried to get us to get a dish we didn't order. Overall, decent food but no service.

    The food here was not bad, but I guess I couldn't get over the fact that it was pretty touristy. If you're looking for an easy tapas meal executed relatively well, this is a decent spot, but if you're looking for something that avoids tourists this isn't the place to go.

    We came here after a day of sightseeing but honestly we were both a little disappointed. The place was way more touristy than I would have liked. They even have English menus. Not that that's terrible per se but the tapas itself were not that great and more expensive. We ordered a handful of dishes and none really stood out. The bacalao was good and it seems like that's what all the reviews talk about. The dessert we ordered was also really good. But in comparison, La Taberna was definitely so much better and for fancier tapas Mechela was also at a different level than this place. My recommendation? Stay away from this place and find a more authentic taperia.

    Can't beat the prices for decent food. Yes they have plastic menus in English (combined with German!) but we had traveled all day and were starving so this fit the bill. huge list to choose from so sure to find something to hit the spot. Sat and the bar and had good, friendly service. Speaking a little Spanish seemed to go a long way. Wine was only €1,70 for a decent pour so can't get enough of that!! Gambas al ajillo was the most expensive thing we chose-a plato for €10,50 but they came out sizzling hot with a nice kick of garlic and hot pepper. Great to soak up the oil with the breads. Other selections were tapas portions all €2,50. Spinach and grabanzos hot and fresh, croquetas con bacalao decent and red shrimp croquetas ok but only a little shrimp flavor. Lamb skewer was decent.

    Great lunch time tapas. Seek out the menu in Engish & German to make ordering easier. Lovely flavours in many of the dishes. Average tapas dishes cost 2.75 euro to 3 euro. Terrific value.

    Very nice Taberna. A wide select of drinks and dishes. Servers were not snobby to us Americans.

    A nice surprise that really hit the spot. Great tapas with all the options in particular the little baby wedge clams were great.

I explained what I wanted: a classic Vodka Martini, stirred but not shaken. He immediately understood. What came out was perhaps the best martini I've had in Europe. No easy feat. I told frank that he should name it: Octopussy in homage to the Roger Moore 80s 007 film. 80s music is blaring and the crowd is Gen X. If you go, ask for a Vodka Martini and tell Frank a former "Company" man sent you.

Only, only do the mainstream popular classic cocktails, so nothing too extraordinary. But for sure a great spot to stop at either with a group or for an intimate date. The decor and seating is more classy than casual imo, but either way no need for a jacket or coat to come here, casual attire is fine.

Bar tender to the rescue explaining that if I waited he was pretty sure someone would leave soon and I could order a drink while I waited. I ordered a sangria and also inquired about food but was told that I need to have an actual seat in order to order food. After nursing my drink for about 20 mins when I was about to pay and head out to find somewhere else to eat, a spot finally opened up and I was treated to the most delicious steak and potatoes and zucchini tapas. This had to be one of the most delicious things I have eaten on this vacation. When I finally vacated my seat to save a pair of new arrivals, there was a line outside of people waiting for the opportunity to eat here. I might chance it again before I leave Seville. I highly recommend for the food and friendly waiters but wish there was a way to turn seats over more quickly. One guy kept insisting he was saving his girlfriend's seat but in the 90 mins I spent there she never showed up. Who knows if she ever existed. Bread comes free with your tapas order and really complimented the meal.
