Review #866 2025-038…read more I first discovered Grocery Outlet about a decade ago in Fresno, & was attracted to the unusual finds at a "grocery store," such as an Olaf bike helmet, Curious George: Discovery Beach Game, etc. The first S. Bay store opened 6 years ago in Redondo Beach, just before COVID-19; it's a bit out of way to shop there. And about a year ago, they took over the former Big Lots location in Lomita. What is Grocery Outlet? They're a discount grocery chain that sells name brand groceries & fresh produce for 40% - 70% less than conventional grocery stores. How? By buying overstocked, seasonal, closeout, & discontinued items from various suppliers. This "opportunistic buying" allows them to acquire items at significant discounts, which are passed on to us. My 14 YO daughter's swim team does this away meet "gift" (junk) exchange where they create a goody bag filled with their fav snacks & drinks. They're kids so it's obviously junk foods & sodas, except for the handful who treat each meet with consideration of this bag o' treats may hinder their performance. I'm grateful for the less expensive options at Grocery Outlet. Since I don't agree with their choices, I started creating my own carbo-load sustenance (fresh fruits, granola bars, nuts, etc.) on competition days. Grocery Outlet offer pretty great deals on fresh fruits, I especially loved the 2-lb. strawberry pack that my husband got recently... so fresh, juicy, & sweet! I got some red cherries (at $2.99/lb.) that were sweet too! Not all produce offer better quality & prices, I'd say it's more like 50-50. Another recent find was A-Sha Spicy Seaweed (only 99¢) & Keroppi Mandarin Noodles with Silly Spicy Sauce (60% discount). Store hours are 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM daily, just a couple hours shorter than the traditional stores. Wide aisles are well-stocked & organized, but you may not always find the same products at your next shopping trip due to opportunistic buying, & what may be priced that day may be priced differently the next day (e.g. Quaker Chewy Limited Edition Valentine Minis: Chocolate Chip with Sprinkles was 99¢, & 2 days later it was $3.99). Also, it's important to check the expiration dates for those too-good-to-be-true deals, they usually have a short expiration dates or are already expired. Yikes! There's usually only 1 register opened even when there's a line, I wish they would opened another register, but the cashiers are typically quick that sometimes I have to load my own bags. Sign up for the WOW! Crowd with your mobile number to enter sweepstakes, track savings, & purchase history. Download the app to see what's in store, get access to insider events, & digital offers, including a $5 off $25 coupon at registration. Grocery Outlet may not be our main go-to store, but it's certainly a great back-up to the traditional stores.

It houses the viral and still trending esp in Asia(Philippines) canvass tote bags. I love the other tote and reusable bags too.. They have the viral Ube ice cream. I love love their vanilla bean yogurt that has less sugar than the honey. Gooseberry that is seasonal. I hope they can get it with the dried flower bulbs(?) still intact. Also, making grocery shopping an engaging experience rather than an errand or a chore. They focus on quality, often avoiding artificial ingredients, while keeping prices low by buying directly from suppliers and their no-coupon policy. Meaning their itemized amount are already, everyday low cost They have an area too for pet food for both the dogs(esp their dried potato yams) and cat treats I love their cheeses. Their apple sourdough with cultured butter Blood Orange drink in a bottle, which was recommended by my daughter. Pls try their smoked paprika too. There are a lot of flavors and things to discover and try. Just like life, it's never ending trials. Though some(like their produce) is unfortunately limited, I don't mind. I still love going to Trader Joe's anyway Ps I didn't took pics of my grocery or the other items that I got. Sorry

This past time I went it feel like they had a lot crammed as you enter it was a bit overwhelming in my opinion. When it was time to pay there was a long line and only two registers open and which the isles being so close to the register it felt a bit tight. A lady has a return a return so that explains it. But besides those small things it's a solid grocery store. They have a great variety of meat and produce that doesn't go bad like other stores. I love their mark downs when I come on Sunday as well. I always find great stuff, won't forget to pass by their flower section they always have beautiful flowers even on clearance and as you meter they always have fun plants outside you can pick up. Their parking is great and they share with bank that's next to it but the shopping center has enough parking for all. No complaint there.

(Maybe even a bakery worker with the disdain she showed in helping a customer who was nothing but polite) You can check your cameras at approximately 12:00 pm 6/23/26 I asked the worker for more mayonnaise condiments that I needed for a sandwich when I went and got the container FOR HER to replenish. She then dropped a mayonnaise packet on the ground so I picked it up FOR HER and put it on the counter ASSUMING she'd discard it in the trash she instead put it into the container she was refilling which I then had to pick from for my sandwich. This location may be expecting a health inspector in their very near future... Her mother raised a rotten one. Or is it that Ralphs is just that much a miserable place to work? Either way, check your cameras. I remember working there and being told 'Customers always right' .

The store is usually fairly cleans and the employees are friendly. There used to be an employee I thought had the worst customer service but I think she's gone because in haven't seen her in years. The first lady explained to me they were short staffed so she had to close early so she could get off on time, but she still asked me what I wanted and was nice enough to go to the back and get it anyway. The second lady said the same thing - they were short staffed - but didn't offer to do anything and had an "oh well" attitude. I've now wasted gas and two trips to the deli that's supposed to be OPEN UNTIL 8PM like the signage says. I feel for the workers wanting to get off on time and the store being short staffed, however, that is not the problem of the consumer. Ralph's should adhere to their deli times and figure this out, or change the times so we're not inconvenienced. If I arrive at 7pm, there's no excuse for everything being packed up an hour early. 10-15 minutes I understand, but an hour is ridiculous.
