I've been coming here since I was a kid after moving to Carson, and now in my 30's, it's still my favorite meat market. Even though I live farther away now, I make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in town and stock up for the week because nothing compares. The quality is always amazing, the prices are fair, and they have everything you need. It's one of those places that feels like home the moment you walk in. The best place in the SOUTH BAY for Carne Asada. I haven't met another place that could make me change my mind. The carne asada here is prepared so well. It is addicting. Amazing carne and pollo para asar. Best marinade everrrr. So an old coworker introduced me about 10+ years ago, and I've been coming back ever since. Things to know before you go: Parking is , getting in and out if horrible if they are busy. If you can park on the street. On holiday weekends be prepared to wait in long lines. Usually when it's a beyond busy, there will be someone out handing out tickets, hold on to your ticket. They will call your number before going in. The same number will be called to place your order, so hang on to it. If it's a regular day, just head up to the ticket machine ans grab your number. There's two cashiers and usually one line. They will call the next customers. You can ask if there is two lines or one instead of cutting off a bunch of grumps. They accept cash, credit cards and EBT. My family has been coming here for years since my grandparents had lived in Carson. Although everyone moved away from Carson we still often make trips out to get our meat here for Sunday bbqs. We also get their ceviche by the lbs. They have good meat cut options and different marinades. It's a spot we know we can rely on getting good meat at good prices. read more

I have been going here for years and many of my friends and family get excited when I tell them I'm bringing meat, specifically tasajo from here. Asked for tasajo on Father's Day and they always go to the back for it, this time was no different. By the time we had the grill going everyone was hungry and we opened the bag of meat up and it was ranchera. We cooked it because we were starving but were very disappointed as we were looking forward to having tasajo for our Father's Day bbq and also having paid $70 for 4 lbs of ranchera. I went back to complain and hopefully get some sort of refund or store credit but they at first tried to tell me that it was tasajo. After showing pictures they said that the tasajo and ranchera is the same price. NOBODY asks $15.90/lb for ranchera. Scammed me out of $70 because their butchers are incompetent and rude. Father's Day BBQ was a let down. Will NEVER return and make sure my family and friends know to avoid. Extremely disappointed. I will have to find a new carnicería with tasajo. read more

But they sure have plenty of people standing around just to tell us we can use self checkout, which those of us with alcohol or produce cannot. This meat market is a gem. They have great prices and staff is really friendly and fast. We usually buy the pollo asado and carne asada ranchera. The taste for both is great. It is seasoned perfectly. Not too spicy either which is a plus. They are also known for their ceviche. I am not really a fan of ceviche but my bf and his family love it. Other than the meats they have available, they also have veggies and other market items. They have a great selection of chicharrones, too. I ordered a pound each of meat and chicken, green onions, 5 limes, and chicharrones and my total was $19. Spent less than other locations in South Bay. Hidden Gem Alert!!! I absolutely love La Venadita. They have the best and freshest meat and ceviche around. I've been going to the Wilmington location for years and recently started coming to the Carson location. The price of the meat is good compared to other places, and the quality is top notch. The guys working the counter are always very friendly and helpful. The store is very organized and clean. I've been coming here for over 20 years. The quality of meat is good, but the price sucks. If it's a holiday weekend, you're going to pay over $18 a pound for carne asada. The parking is horrible, the girls working at the register are really nice but the people cutting the meat have a bad attitude and if you go late in the evening, when they're about to close, they're attitude is at there worst. This place is actually in Carson but they have it listed as Wilmington. This is a small mom and pop place that sells the best carne/pollo asada in town. It gets really busy during the holidays and the prices of their meats goes up by $4. When it gets busy, sometimes their carne asada doesn't get marinated long enough and it doesn't taste very good. So a good suggestion is to get there early before the holiday rush begins. Also this place doesn't sell wine or beers, so you'll have to make another stop for that.
