Amazing carne and pollo para asar. Best marinade everrrr. So an old coworker introduced me about 10+ years ago, and I've been coming back ever since. Things to know before you go: Parking is , getting in and out if horrible if they are busy. If you can park on the street. On holiday weekends be prepared to wait in long lines. Usually when it's a beyond busy, there will be someone out handing out tickets, hold on to your ticket. They will call your number before going in. The same number will be called to place your order, so hang on to it. If it's a regular day, just head up to the ticket machine ans grab your number. There's two cashiers and usually one line. They will call the next customers. You can ask if there is two lines or one instead of cutting off a bunch of grumps. They accept cash, credit cards and EBT. Not sure about all the newer phone app payments and such. Anywho, highly

The meat here geez it's so damn good. I've also tried the chicken outstanding. Little hole in the wall in Carson, but delicious nonetheless.

Follow your GPS and don't just start winging it at the end because if you miss the turn onto Doble Avenue, you're going back around the block. It's in Harbor City in a warehouse, which makes a lot more sense once you know what the place actually is. La Española has been importing Spanish foods for more than 40 years, and they also make their own Spanish-style charcuterie right here in California. Being tucked into a warehouse near the Port of LA somehow makes the whole thing feel like a miniature local adventure. When you first walk in you have to acclimate for a second because every inch of the place is filled with something. Oils, olives, vinegars, paprika and other seasonings, wine, cheeses, meats, paella pans, and then random specialty things like soaps and room sprays. The neroli ones smelled fantastic, btw. I went in with a list because we were heading out to the desert and had decided we were making paella. We already had a carbon steel paella pan at home basically begging for the job, so this was happening. We left with sweet and smoked paprika, Spanish chorizo, a couple different oils, sherry vinegar, and several cheeses and meats from the refrigerated section. Plus, of course, some things that were definitely not on the list. Also, if you go on Saturday, they make paella in a gigantic pan behind the building and offer several varieties to go or to eat on the patio. We happened to be there on a Saturday and somehow stayed committed to making our own, even though theirs smelled delicious. I did get the skinny though, and they recommend ordering ahead. Side note: not only did they have everything we needed, we were clearly set up for success. See image for proof of concept.

I'll definitely come back for some of their tinned fish and boquerones (it's just a tasty anchovy). The staff were really kind and helpful. I felt bad browsing for such a long time, so I bought a sandwhich. At first I thought it was a little pricey. Then I thought it was a little small. Then I took a bite, holy cow it's worth it. I ate the first half as is, then the second have i ate layer by layer to taste each type of meat and roasted pepper. They give you a little cup of delicious olives and I highly recommend dipping your bread into the leftover brine. I'm looking forward to taking my friends here.

My own parents lived around the corner for 30 years before recently moving. My dad and I always used to race here to get our weekend dinner supplies. All in all, this is a great shop. Personable people (family owned for sure), affordable prices, GREAT quality food, clean and full of history. I've even heard from other people who grew up in the area all the way at my work in LA county who rave about that store. My folks may have moved to another state and my father in law is no longer with us, but I for one will keep getting my best meats at this butcher's shop!

I got the $15 Italian with everything and it was loaded with fresh veggies, Boar's Head meats and cheese, mayo, mustard, etc. Previously I've gotten sliced meat by the pound as well. Staff is helpful and if you aren't sure what cut you want to buy on the raw meats...just ask! The customer behind me said his Dad wanted pork chops to smoke on the Traeger. They helped him pick the right cut & optional if you want it seasoned or as is. There's a few potatoes, onions, and seasoning in the shelves. A great one stop shop option! (The Char crust brand is great.)
