For being out in the middle of nowhere Kentucky, this is as good as it's going to get. But, after the first few bites of everything, I could tell it was all foodservice, and mainly pre-made. The salsa whether fresh or prepared, was the best thing on the menu. Very lively spot, bar seating and enclosed patio seating.

The staff was super friendly and this is not their fault at all but the tacos were horrible. The steak tasted old and chewy, the tortillas were cold and it was not good at all. The chorizo-queso was good but other than that don't recommend. Also very over priced for three tacos!! Won't be back

This is one my favorite spots to eat at the Red River Gorge! Tasty Mexican food in the middle of a mountain town - who would've thunk!! The servers are super friendly and start you off with generous portions of FREE chips and salsa!! Yum! The salsa is tasty, too. My favorite orders are the tender pork carnitas. Melt in your mouth. And you'll also get a huge portion of rice and beans to go with it. I also recommend the molcajete options, which are grilled entrees on a hot lava bowl filled to the brim. The other day I ordered a seafood molcajete with a ton of grilled shrimp. (Seafood in Kentucky? Sure, why not!) I would dock some points for their very dry tacos and so-so guacamole, which kind of taste store bought. But I'll overlook those things in case it was an off night (I've come before and the taco was fine). Close your meal with some delectable fried ice cream or churros! The latter is a fine choice, as they're cream filled and come with a bowl of chocolate to dip. My friends love getting their huge margaritas here (Mango and lime are good options). Order a "becky," which is an extra shot of tequila if you're feeling crazy! I also like how they serve dark modello beer with lime. Classic. The food is filling and generous - perfect after a long day of hiking, climbing or other outdoor sports. Share an entree with your dining companion if you have a small stomach. Be prepared for huge portions!! They have the capacity to serve large groups here, and the fun and bright decor is always cheery. Buy t-shirts, toys or other knick knacks at the front desk.

Just eat the rice and sour cream.

Food was okay salsa and cheese dip was okay. The cheese dip came out cold but they got another cup. Expensive for mexican food over $50 for two people my meal was Expensive but my wife only got a cheese quesadilla.

Location was so cute! We just got done hiking at Red River Gorge and saw this place. So happy to have been seated outside by the creek. Food was fast, hot, and delicious! Those were the best tacos I have ever had!! Even the rice had some great flavor to it! Just blown away by this cute little restaurant! Hoping to come back in the fall for another bite!

The first time we ever went down to the gorge we drove past this restaurant at like 6 PM on a Friday night and there was a line out the door and the entire parking lot was packed so we knew that we would have to try it out. I am so glad we did this place was so cute and they actually had a really good food that was reasonably priced. we got fajitas and burritos and spiced specialty cocktails along with many other things. their server was extremely nice and very helpful considering we had never been there and kind of walked us through what's really good and what's not and then also discuss the specials and stuff like that. we were a little worried because eating Mexican food and then going back to your campground can kind of be worrisome but luckily the portions didn't overstuff us to where it feels like you can't move. it was the perfect amount. they also have this little store inside where you can buy T-shirts and sweatshirts and a bunch of other stuff just if you're in the area and want to collect some memorabilia. this is definitely a place you have a check out if you're in the area and we will definitely be back!!

We stayed at red River gorgeous cabins and came here. Definitely did not disappoint. The food here is some of the best Mexican we've had. The carnitas were amazing and the amount served was more than I could eat. Service was amazing we chose to have a few drinks prior to ordering food, the server was okay with us waiting to order but also attentive enough to keep our drinks coming. Queso and Salsa were both delicious. Lively place but food is amazing and service is good. Will be coming here again on our next trip to red river.

    Hillbilly Quesadilla!!

Great food and bartender and staff very knowledgeable of the hiking trails in the area. Highly recommended the Hillbilly Quesadilla!!

Ate here and while the atmosphere was kind of cool, the food was inedible. I first ordered a taco salad and it tasted like it had dog food in it, switched out for a quesadilla which looked like they poured cheese on it. Chips and salsa which ate almost always a win for us was not even worth having. Very disappointing.

Fun place, bright vibrant decor, tasty food and great service. Definitely recommend. I shared the hillbilly quesadilla and Hawaiian fajitas with my friend. And omg. They were huge. We had enough left over for dinner and we still have enough for at least one more meal. Both were good - but the hillbilly one was especially unique. Definitely worth eating here if you're in the area hiking or climbing.

The hillbilly quesadillas and shrimp tacos were both amazing. The chips and salsa were both pretty good too.

Is the outside seating Dog friendly?

I am not sure. The Gorge is still a bit behind in certain ways. I would call and ask. THX

When it comes to the food you definitely are getting what you're paying for because the portions are great! To be honest, it looked closed - all the windows are tinted, so we couldn't see inside, and the parking lot was empty. Maybe we pulled up later than they typically expect to have diners, b/c when we walked in (very nice inside, btw, great decoration and all), I noticed there had been a party in the next room that hadn't been cleaned up yet. They have a bar, but I was driving, and my friends w/ me don't drink, so we didn't do that - notable, though, b/c most Mexican restaurants I've been to don't serve alcohol. Food is really great value, and great portions. We each got pretty huge platters for very reasonable prices, and the quality was great. Service was on point as well; admittedly the guy seemed a bit surprised to see us, but once he got us set up, everything went smoothly - chips and salsa to start, great w/ refilling water, food came out pretty quickly (perhaps not challenging when we were the only people there!). Other than the one table not being picked up when we walked in, the entire place was clean, including the bathroom, and I would go back if in the area again!
