My beef enchilada had really nothing but beef in it, which itself was tasty and not at all dry or chewy, but what is an enchilada without some beans, rice, maybe a few veggies, onions and cheese?!? Amongst the other mostly same/same restaurants in Arrecife this is certainly a nice change though. A little sad that none of the bartenders in these extremely well-stocked bars around the city seem to know how to put all that good liquor to sensible use and La Lupe is no difference. But the service is friendly and so we resigned to looking at all the good Mezcal from a distance and dreaming of all the wonderful drinks that could be made with this.....

It's a nice little place, right at the most touristy shopping street in town, and it's been a construction zone most of the time we spent on the island. So when it was finally open, we were really excited to try it. The menu has a great collection of burgers, so there was a lot of potential. The service staff had some trouble explaining the menu, but that's OK for a new place. Not OK is shifting blames to other members of the staff (because they were new). But back to the impoortant things: THE GREATEST BURGERS IN TOWN! They certainly were the biggest we could find. At least for non-option menu orders. The Bun was great. fluffy and solid enough to hold the 240g regular size burger. You can also have a double patty option, that will up this beast to 480g. The problem with most burgers of size, I experienced so far, was taste. This sadly was no exception. The Patty itself was pretty lame and tasteless. In total the Burger is more like: THE MOST AVERAGE BURGER IN TOWN! ... only bigger! Still, prices are fair and it's by far not a bad choice to have a very large snack.

When I saw a chocolate looking dessert with sparkler going by, I knew I wanted to sample some, so some chocolate brownie with icecream was swiftly ordered. It wasn't the best I've had, but was tasty enough and presentation wise it looked good. It did take a while to get the bill at the end of our meal, but at 35 euros for three people we couldn't complain and it was one of the best quality meals we had on holiday.

The food is always good quality at a decent price. I would recommend their steaks, especially if you like it rare, they cook them to perfection and they are huge !! There are two other restaurants in costa teguise within about 100 metres of el maestro (la hacienda and el peskera) which are under the same chain which also have exactly the same menu which is a little odd! They all have a slightly different atmosphere, (for example; la hacienda is much more child orientated) but I would recommend all of them as good places to eat in costa.

The chicken was tender and really tasty and they both struggled to finish the hearty portion. As with most places in Puerto del Carmen the food was really great value and at under 35 euro for three people with drinks it was a bit of a bargain. A great place to people watch and very atmospheric - definitely a good call if you're on holiday in the area. The next night we visiting El Patio Mexican and the decor and menus were very similar in style, and I suspect they're owned by the same people.

The food was delicious, I had the BBQ ribs which were perfectly cooked. No one else in the group had any complaints about the meal. However the service as well below average. After we ordered our food, the server never returned to check on us and it took us a while to get their attention when ordering drink re fills or even to get the bill! The atmosphere wasn't what we'd expect either as if seems like it should be a fun place to eat with music and good service but it didn't live up to that.
