La Lupe is a restaurant tucked away one block off the ocean walk. We came here twice and were pretty happy with our meals even though the interpretation of Mexican food served here seems a bit liberal. But all in all the burritos and enchiladas we were served were tasty and fresh. Unfortunately- as with all food we had on Lanzarote- the seasoning was a little light. Especially the guacamole could have easily done with more cilantro, lime, onions as well as salt and pepper. My beef enchilada had really nothing but beef in it, which itself was tasty and not at all dry or chewy, but what is an enchilada without some beans, rice, maybe a few veggies, onions and cheese?!?
Amongst the other mostly same/same restaurants in Arrecife this is certainly a nice change though. A little sad that none of the bartenders in these extremely well-stocked bars around the city seem to know how to put all that good liquor to sensible use and La Lupe is no difference. But the service is friendly and so we resigned to looking at all the good Mezcal from a distance and dreaming of all the wonderful drinks that could be made with this..... read more
