Out of all the 5 choices in Hampton, LA Carreta might be the most consistent. It certainly is different from your choices of greasepit #1 or greasepit #2. As much as I have eaten here, I have never left with the feeling of that was horrible, but on the flip side, never had the feeling of wow that was fantastic. It's just all been ok. I will say what they do best are their salsa, guacamole, and cheese dip. The sweet tea is just right in my opinion and I have never had a bad glass of it. Their entrees are just ok. In fact, this might be the most bland Mexican food you ever have. It needs more flavor. I will also like to note that there has been a time when I ordered a huge steak and chicken burrito and well, I should have ordered a rice burrito bc that was what it was with a small piece of steak and chicken in it. If you are in Hampton area and looking for something decent, La Carreta is a safe choice, but don't expect to be amazed...unless you are only going to eat appetizers. read more

By far the best choice here in Hampton, AR. Their cheese dip is some of the best I've had in awhile. The main courses are pretty good. Not amazing, but still relatively tasty and you won't leave hungry. read more
